New Student at Superhero High (KiraMusani x Frozen Princess)

Cover Girl nodded. "We ran into praw-blems! As the saying goes with those scientists." She sat down. "So, as you have probably learned from Jean, I'm your acting mom. I'll have to look out for you for at least the next nine months. That means you have any problems with a student you try to take it to staff, but you let me know also. We actually had to get the President of the United States involved. Do you... Were you... At least told who that is? Anyhoo, the President sided with us with a caveat. I'm to take care of you. You're my responsibility, but at the same time, do what your told by your teachers unless you feel uncomfortable. Then you say..." She shrugged, gave a half chuckle and said, "you want to call Mom Courtney." A sigh and half smile. "Understand? You can also call on me if you just want to talk. Now, here, don't lose it..." She gave Alina a cell phone. "Do you know how to operate one of these? I'm already in your contacts." Cover Girl was in no way calling herself a guard. Mom sounded less threatening. "Is that your new schedule? Can I see it?"

Alina sat by her, jumping a little at her enthusiasm.
"Oh! umm yeah okay." She nodded along with her as she spoke.
"Oh yes, it is Lex Luthor right?" She asked.
"I want to call my mom Courtney? Wait are you really my mother?" She asked seeming confused.
She took the cell phone and looked it over.
"I have never used one, but I am sure I can figure it out, or get one of the other girls to show me."
She nodded handing her Schedule over.
"Sure thing, here."

Courtney gave a sad smile. She actually wished she was, but then a 16 year old daughter would have meant having her at 13. The math didn't work. "I really wish I was. I'd never have let you go through that in the first place." A deep breath. "I can be your mom if you let me, and not just for the next nine months, either." She gave her a hug and then looked over the schedule. "You start this Monday, then? Are you excited?" She wasn't meaning to startle Alina and even said that after Alina answered the question. "Do you have any questions for me, before I let you go to your friends and sleepover?" This would include asking how to use the cell, so Alina could at least have that figured out.

Alina blushed a little at her statement.
"Oh.. like for real? you mean like, all the mother stuff?" She asked seeming a little emotional, not even hugging back when she was hugged, though did lean into her slightly showing that it wasn't like it wasn't unwelcome.
"Oh umm, nervous and umm, yeah a little excited. Everything is so new, it's like, it doesn't really seem real yet, you know?" She said taking a deep breath.
"I mean, I do but like, I don't want to take too long... but like, what all do mothers really do? Like I have been told, but like, I mean for real, I don't know if I was told right."

Cover Girl nodded. "Mom stuff. A mom has unconditional love for her child, even if he or she is adopted and not one she birthed herself. A mom loves being involved in the things her child takes part in." She handed Alina back her schedule. "This sleepover, for example? As your surrogate Mom, I'd love to find out if you had fun or learned something new about your new friends. Moms also go to lunch with their daughters just because if she's not busy," she shook her head as she chuckled, "Even before you my lunches were never busy, so don't be surprised if I pop in at the cafeteria and want to see you to catch up on your day and how you're doing. At the same time, you can always say, 'Mom. With my friends!' and at the same time arrange a catch up time after school. You won't get out til around three since you do have seven classes and lunch." She smiled, "Mom Courtney has taken enough of your time. Go back to your friends and enjoy yourself. Get to know them better, this is the perfect time to ask a lot of questions." She put her arms open for another hug, but would let Alina indicate whether she wanted a hug or not.

"Heh, the love part I knew at least. The lunch part, that is new, but why would it matter if I was with friends?" She asked smiling as she heard her explain how their relationship would work. She hesitated for a moment after seeing her open her arms for a hug, she moved toward her and wrapped her arms around her, though she is clearly still a little awkward.
"So do I call you mom Courtney?"

Cover Girl gave her a big hug. "Yes, if that's how you want to address me." After giving her a peck on the forehead she said, "Go have fun!" She sent Alina back to Ivy's room.

Jean smiled as Alina came in. She had been in a psy-link conversation with Charles, so said still attached to Charles mind. "I'm so jelly, Alina! You got a GI Joe Mom! Luhhh-keeeey!" She said in a singsong lilt that might even get her own girlfriend teasing her.

Ivy came to her. "We don't have to have eight, if these are the only students you want here, this is all we're having. This is for you to get to know these you hit it off with." She pointed to each one, forgetting to include herself. "Crystal Brisbane, Jean Grey and Kitty Pryde of the students."

Jean cleared her throat.

"What?" Ivy asked innocently causing another throat clearing. She looked askance at Alina, shrugging, still not realizing she didn't announce herself as a student Alina met and sort of knew.

Jean leaned over and whispered to Alina, "You wanna tell her who she forgot to mention... Or should I?" The Aussie, Crystal, choked as she snorted to keep from laughing.

Dr. Brinker, the chaperone, gave a soft chuckle.

Ivy was STILL oblivious, looking at everyone with eyes begging to be let in on the joke.

Alina nodded, not sure what to think about this newfound affection. This toppled with the warm reception as she returned to the room made her blush.
"Hey.. 'Red' sure you don't want a mic over there?" Kitty teased but gave her a light kiss on the cheek.

Alina looked at each one and at first, was just as confused as Ivy, but took a second look at all of the girls, and the clear light bulb brightened up in her head.
"Ohh! I think I get it, you forgot yourself! you are a student too right?!" She exclaimed, excited that she figured it out.
"But really, if this is all for me it's too much, I don't deserve this... I mean, I think I technically did a bad thing, so... I don't see why I should be rewarded for that." She admitted looking down.

The chaperone, really only there to keep things from getting too crazy, sat in a chair, with her crossed leg swinging freely as she popped on and off her dress shoe from her heel looked casually at Alina. "Who said escaping from abuse was a bad thing? Granted, there might have been a less... Shall we say violent? way to do it? But then again, from what I saw of Dr. Quincy's report here, and the police on scene when they came back to the precinct, what choice did you have? Very few options, considering, I'll tell you that. Don't be so hard on yourself."

Ivy also finally got it. "Oh. Um, yeah. I'm a student too. I didn't think to add myself. Um. Pamela Isley." She blushed as she admitted this. "So um... Usually we let the guest of honor pick what we do as for party games, but you might not exactly know how to do these. Usually, we play games that gets us all talking about ourselves. Kara likes Truth and Dare," she meant "or" but not even the counselor corrected her, "and spin the bottle." Jean made a goofy smirk and elbowed Kitty with a wink. Their relationship was brought to light due to one of Supergirl's sleepovers. "I shouldn't assume, though, but from what we've heard..." Ivy stopped herself and said shyly, "but have you been at one of these before?"

Alina looked up with her head still down as Quincy defended her actions in her escape, as cited by Dr. Brinker.
"I mean not just that, yeah the umm, I assume the people who were being transported with me, that they, they died. I heard them talking about trips they were going to go on, plans for what to do after... they are not monsters, they are people. Everyone that works at that place, they are people... But it's not just that, the reason they had me, the reason I was there, they said it was to stop some sort of monster, a real monster." She admitted rubbing one of her arms, though tried to push past that as they talked about games to play.

Kitty smiled and decided to not correct her, as sometimes that name seemed more correct in how they played anyway.

Alina looked around and shook her head.
"I don't know any of those things."

Brinker winced as she heard why Alina felt so bad. "You're right. They were people with hopes and dreams... But then so are you, and you have those same rights, that they were taking away from you. There's a saying. Desperate times call for desperate measures. It sounds to me you were put in a desperate position, and that called for the desperate act of escape."

Jean smiled and nodded. "Years of that crap and no sign of a supposed threat? I probably would have reacted the same way. I would have been just as desperate. They were saying you weren't the threat, but treating you like you were. That's what really burned my bacon." She may have to explain herself, unless Alina got the gist.

Ivy tried to get control back. "Let's not ask about Alina anymore, let's let her ask us about ourselves."

"Bonzer idea, there, Ivy, luv! Fire when ready, Alina, just let us know to whom yer questions are addressed, aye?"

Alina nodded, a little tired of needing to talk about herself all the time, it was not a super fun topic for her.
"Okay, well most of my questions will kind of be like general questions to the group I guess, I don't really know any of you too much more than others for the most part. Umm so, I already know this part for you Ivy but for the rest, how did you get your abilities? and What was your life like before coming here?" She asked looking around at each of them.

Jean already knew, but for Kitty, it might not have been told. Only the seniors had gone on THAT fateful field trip.

Ivy sighed. "I got my plant based powers due to an unfortunate accident at a lab greenhouse caused by someone I thought was my friend. Well, adult friend. Jean, Kara and Barbara Gordon got me out of there, and of course Dr. Quincy treated me. I... Uh... I kinda turned into a human plant, I guess, as I'm still transforming. I think pretty much everyone here except Dr. Brinker knows that I control plants and can even make them grow and capture bad guys and all. I'm on like constant scrutiny and stuff, hoping I don't snap because of it .. and I hope not too." She took a deep breath. "My life prior to being becoming a student here, much the same way Barbara Gordon was, y'know, super intelligence, was pretty run of the mill. Bored in school, cuz I wasn't challenged, but a relatively happy and healthy home life." She shrugged and stopped talking.

"Pamela? Are you seeing a therapist for mental stability?" Brinker asked worried.

Ivy nodded with a smile. "Student wise I have my friend Jean. But yes, I see Professor X every week at the same time. I think as long as I have Jean in my corner, I'll pull through this okay." She said that more for Alina's benefit, so Alina could feel safer yet around Jean.

"Why thank you for the vote of confidence, Ivy, I do at least try to be available for any snags anyone has. I'm not Senior Class Vice President, after all, for nothing." Jean smiled with a slight coloring to her cheeks, showing embarrassment; something she rarely exhibits.

Crystal Brisbane could only manage a "Crikey."

Alina listened and nodded. "Does it help a lot? Having someone to go inside your head? That is what Jean and the professor can do right? What is it like, a voice in your head?" She asked Ivy, more curious than anything.

"And what about the rest of you, that question was not just for Ivy, I am curious about all of you, you said your life was normal, but I don't know what that means, loving parents? is that normal? Brother, sister? school, homework, arguments? What? What is a normal life, like the average normal day for you? what was that like?"

Jean nodded. "We can, but we have to have permission first, unless it's a real emergency. For example, it was to help possibly stabilize you mentally as we searched for any injuries. Well, that was my intention, but I was blocked. At first, Quincy couldn't even get normal readings from you, and Charles and I were called in to assist any way we could." She stopped Alina with a hand raised. "I will not accept an apology as you have nothing to be sorry for. Your shield was protecting you from an unknown force trying to probe you. I was actually blaming myself, thinking I had triggered something. We didn't know, but now we do. No harm, no foul."

Ivy looked pensive. "I'm sorry, I don't know how to explain normal. I get you never had that to even know what it is.
I did have a kind of messed up childhood at first, suffering a sort of disassociation with my real parents. My foster parents are the ones I get normalcy from. I guess that would be being loved just because. I was an only child, although I had foster sisters and brothers. My foster parents did keep me and helped give me a decent education. They actually encouraged my quest for knowledge as a botanist." Another shrug. "I know I made Batman leery of me, although I don't know why. I try to be good, but I mess up a lot."

Alina blushed at Jean's response.
"Oh I umm, yeah it's fine. I can't control this thing, I guess Ivy has seen proof as I ate earlier." She stated before grabbing a price of popcorn and going to put it in her mouth only for it to bounce off.
"It's not just thoughts or food, it's all things that are not essential, oxygen gets in the air I breath gets out, but none oxygen gases are stopped, heh I can't even feel theses clothes on me really, or the floor we are sitting on." She rubbed her hand on the ground.
"Also, the umm, the hugs and umm, all the contact that is done for the comfort or whatever, I find it hard to understand so much of how things are, and how I am supposed to act." She admitted.

"I don't know who Batman is, but if he is cautious of you? Someone who seems so nice and adjusted to how everyone acts out here, how does this Batman feel about me?" She paused for a moment before continuing.
"Oh and umm that the other stuff, is that the normal? Foster parents, brother, and sisters, and real parents? Do most have that kind of thing? And why were the real ones worse?"

Jean giggled. "Oh, I've done that. I like to try to show off, though." She tossed a popcorn in the air, tried to catch it, only for it to pop off her lip and onto the floor. She blushed. "I uh meant to do that..." The next piece went right in.

Brinker was the one to answer for Ivy. "Ivy thinks that was normal, because it was for her. You said your mother gave you up to those... People? Normal is a mother and father, maybe a sibling, but there's also love involved. The kind you've been shown around here that's normal for us." She smiled, finally just taking off her shoes.

Alina nodded.
"So the parents that are my real ones, didn't love me or want me? I thought they had to give me up, because of my abilities." She paused for a moment shaking her head.

"No, look" She stated grabbing another popcorn and pressing it against her open mouth, it being crushed between her finger and the gap.
"See, and it's not just popcorn, Ivy can attest to that, but also that was not the whole point." She paused again thinking before getting an idea.
"Oh! okay, I have an idea, here." She said seeming to focus for a moment.
"Kitty, and Jean, I put a really think barrier between you two, try and press your hands against each other." She asked.

If they did so, they would feel what was like a glass wall between them, that seemed to have no temperature to it, so as they pressed their hands against one another, they would feel the pressure of the other, but not the softness or the warmth. If Kitty tried to be cheeky and phase through, as she did she would feel a sharp stabbing like pain in every mm of skin that passed through.

Jean was the one who's eyes lit up. "Like Sue Richards! Well, sort of... That answers a lot of my questions, and I'm sure some of Charles' and Dr. Quincy's as well." After checking on her girlfriend, she asked, "Can you make a sort of light construct with a bit more color like a Green Lantern, and can I get a picture of you? Maybe you can create a background you would like. I can make it where it's more tangible, and would look real, if you tell me what you're planning." She readied the camera and what Alina described, and started, Jean would help her finish. She would then take the picture, which would also be Alina's student ID card.

Ivy blinked, and shook her head. "Who? Who's Sue Richards?"

Brinker continued to look on in interest, as this still didn't seem like something worthy of the treatment Alina suffered. Had the scientists respected what Alina COULD do, instead of treating her as a threat... She digressed her thinking. The scientists leave Alina and the school alone, they were to be left alone. That was what the President ordered. Charles was to have nine months of uninterrupted work with Alina. That was also a Presidential Order. She silently wondered about the GI Joe calling herself Mom instead of guard... Well, as long as she did her job, she didn't see anything wrong with it, especially if it put Alina at ease and gave her a sense of normalcy.

Alina looked down a little, they had completely missed the point she was trying to get across. It was pointless, they weren't trying to understand so they would never do so, she decided to simply just play along with what they wanted. She took a light breath with those thoughts and shook her head.
"No, I can only make it perfectly transparent, I once made a barrier that was slightly reflective but I am not sure how or if it was maybe something else. Anyway, the short answer is no, only transparent." She shook her head again and folded her hands together.

"Hey, I can edit the photo, here connect your camera to my laptop, I have a filtering program, what were you thinking? Maybe a place around the world? Oh! just beam it into my head, easier than explaining." She told her, fully trusting Jean in her head at this point, and knowing she could use more practice anyway.
Once she had the picture she instructed Alina to strike a specific pose, even to use her barrier to act like she was leaning over an edge that she would edit after.

"I umm, Okay..." Alina nodded, not sure if she was allowed to say no or not so went along with it.

They took the first couple of shots but they felt off Alina was not into it, Kitty showed her the image and that seemed to help, she even turned a fan on to emulate wind for the photo. Eventually, they had a shot that Jean would be happy with.

Jean grinned broadly. "Nice! This is for my personal album of all the students and friends I met here at Superhero High!" Jean explained to Alina, getting a bit overexcited and showing Alina a "slideshow" of a good portion of the students and teachers. Quincy, Bookworm, Henry Jones Jr, Lantern Hal, and Flash Jay, some met, some Alina will have, were the teachers in the slideshow. "He," Jean said pointing to Jones, "goes by the nickname Indiana. Don't you have him, Kitty? He makes World History fun, so you actually might like that class. Only class I know where the teacher has a weekly show and tell, whereas the teacher DOES the showing and telling."

Brinker sighed. "Hate to be the wet blanket here, Jean, but Alina does still need a photo SHE likes for her student identification card." She made a face. She was probably the only one that got it. "Jean. A moment please. Step into my office..." She got up and went to the restroom Ivy had that had only a toilet and basin.

Ivy and Crystal both were confused with what exactly Alina meant. Brinker had the door shut as she talked quietly with Jean. Shortly Jean came back out looking like she just got the green switch to her bare behind. Brinker pointed to Alina.

Jean took a breath and gave Alina a whipped puppy look. "I'm sorry. I wasn't thinking. I just thought since you could do the barrier..." A glance at Brinker who still glowered at Jean, arms crossed. "I thought you could do other constructs. I wasn't being any better than those so-called scientists. Can you forgive me?"

Alina looked at the images as she was shown them, it was still hard to believe that so many people were at this school, and they nearly all had abilities.

Kitty nodded.
"Yeah he is great, really teaches a lot of things, and different eras and stuff, the projects in that class are fun too."
Alina nodded along, not sure if she should do world history with how little she would know going in.

Alina blushed at the defense Brinker brought.
"Oh umm, it is okay, I don't mind. If wanted we could use that one it's really okay, I don't really care that much" She admitted rubbing the back of her head.

"Oh! I umm, that, no that was okay. Don't worry about it, I am actually always excited to hear ideas, despite what I have been through I do like to learn new things about my abilities." She admitted, for a moment she thought Dr. Brinker saw right through her, she was close but that was not quite what had bothered her, though since she herself could not even articulate what her issue was she was not even going to try expressing it.
"I umm, Thanks though I appreciate it anyway, if you think of other ideas for my abilities let me know. Heh, honestly every time I make one I try to make it pink" She stated trying to cope with the awkwardness with humor.

Brinker was satisfied with Jean's apology, but glanced surprised at Alina. "I was under the impression that Jean was pushing the idea on you by what she was saying. You said you couldn't and she was still gung ho for it. That's why I felt the need to get on her on your behalf. We don't force here. We accept what a person is capable of." She took a breath. "I believe that is a direct quote of the rules, is it not, Lasso Girl?" She eyed Crystal.

"Technically, the American version of my hero name is Female Lasso, Doc, but yah, that's what I read." Crystal blushed, wondering why she got singled out.

Ivy raised her hand. "When I explained the rules to Alina, I kinda combined that and respecting others by summarizing as Be yourself, because that's all you can be." She then looked at Alina. "If you haven't gotten the welcome packet yet, I know Jean had to bring your schedule, your welcome packet would contain the rules; another copy of your schedule; a booklet about the history of Superhero High, including the principals, some of the more famous alumni and a map of the grounds and where everything is; and your locker, location and combination. You will get your text books from your teachers at each class Monday. Your welcome packet is to be slid under your door by the weekend mail carrier. And that would be...." Her eyes got wide. "Oh. Crapola. Windy! Cheetah hates her almost as much as she hates Diana!"

"I think I'm up there on that feral cat's hit list, myself. Especially after I hogtied her in PE." Crystal said, before adding, "Here now, Doc, she deserved it, runnin' off at the mouth when she didn't even know Alina. 'Sides... Got tired o' her sayin' 'that new gal' over and over. She's got a name." She then looked at the girl in question. "Ain't that right, Alina?"

Brinker groaned and shook her head. "Charles might get tired of her eventually and expel her." She sighed. "Even Metropolis PD has heard of her antics and threats against the Themysciran princess, but until she actually acts on those threats, our hands are tied."

"Back to fun." Jean said, "My powers are telekinesis, psychic waves, telepathy... I don't like doing it much, but I can teleport. Nowhere near with the pizzazz of Kurt, though."

Crystal laughed, "Ya tellin' me, Jean. That bloke could blink from here to Woop Woop an' back in the space of a second! Ya make me sound humdrum, Red! As you saw, Alina, I gotta lot of rope tricks I do, ain't nothin' too mundane or extraordinary I can't do with my rope." Before Jean could blink (and she IS a mind reader) she and Kitty were tied together. "You two sheilas kiss and make up, Heaven knows ya probably hurt the other's feelings somehow during the course of the day. An' considerin' how ya two are, ya know I'm right."

Jean blushed and chuckled, "I don't mind being this close to you, Shadow Kitty, but darned if I'm actually clueless to what she's on about this time, except showing off her skills for Alina. It's actually near impossible to surprise me, but somehow Sheila Lasso always manages it."

Alina paused to think about it for a moment."oh... But how else would we learn to push past our limits if others don't try and help push us? I don't know maybe it is because of how I grew up but, isn't that how we learn?" She asked, still trying to adjust to everything.

She could help but smile at the name female lasso, for some reason she found it funny.
"Windy? She is the fast one right? That ability must come in handy." She started wondering what it would feel like to move that fast, would she even be able to feel it?
"Oh yeah cheetah, she was a little rude today huh? But maybe there is a reason for it?" She suggested not wanting to see the bad in her.
"I mean, yes my name is Alina, and umm it would be better to use it, but maybe she had a reason not to?" She suggested.

Alina gasped a little at her saying she could teleport.
"Oh! If you want to teleport but be careful if I have barriers up, they umm, they don't react well to things trying to teleport past them, that is actually what a lot of my earlier tests were about back, umm, back at the lab" she explained.
"And this Kurt might need to know as well" she added meekly.

"Oh wow so fast" Alina clapped for female lasso.

Kitty laughed and gave Jean a kiss on the cheek.
"Oh Crystal, it's like you forgot who I am" she joked before phasing through the lasso and tied up Jean.

Jean shook her head. "That's just it. Pushing past what we're capable of doing when it comes to our super abilities isn't like training a muscle to strengthen it." She returned Kitty's kiss before being phased through; Jean then wrapped the rope up and handed it back to Crystal with her mind. So, to everyone watching, the rope wound itself back up and floated to Crystal. "I believe this belongs to you." Jean smiled.

Ivy shook her head. "She's rude all the time. But especially if your name is Wonder Woman or Velocity."

Commotion in the hall that concluded with a "wha, wha, wha, wha!" and a loud thud from a body hitting Ivy's door, followed by derisive laughter met the ears of everyone's ears on the other side.

Brinker opened the door, catching the hapless female speedster in the pink racing suit, as she fell forward. She looked right at Cheetah laughing at the incident. "Why do I suspect you had a hand in this?" She looked at Windy MacEnroe who steadied herself and shook her head. "What happened?"

As Cheetah claimed innocence, while looking at Windy in a veiled threat kind of way, the speedster said, "Um. I think I need to be banned from going over school zone speed in the dorms." She caught Cheetah's look and then flat out lied. Anyone who knew Velocity, or even could sense something was wrong with how she spoke, could see It. "I... I tripped over myself. I wasn't watching where I was going." She spied Alina. "Um this is for you." She held out a manila envelope with a clasp front. This would be just what Ivy was describing as coming for Alina.

"Hmm," Brinker throated suspicious of what she was told.

Even Sheila Lasso wasn't buying it. "Yah, nah, don't believe ya, luv. Ain't like ya t' have an accident like that when you're runnin' mail. Yer lots more careful than that."

"No really. I tripped, that's it. I tripped!" Velocity said waving it off, actually making herself look even more like she was covering for someone.

Brinker nodded. "Finish your mail route and report to Quincy to have your balance checked."

Velocity nodded with a salute. "Yes, ma'am. I do need that. I'll get right on it. Um after I finish the mail. Thank you, ma'am!"

She raced off and Brinker shut the door. "Who could tell she was lying, considering her tormentor was right there in the hall watching us?" Brinker asked pointedly as she raised her own hand. Jean's hand went up immediately... But then, she didn't have to go on body language alone, but it'd be more than enough for anyone who could see how Velocity was acting, especially after she saw Cheetah looking at her.

Crystal shook her head, "Alina, darling, once you're on Cheetah's list, she don't need a reason to use your name." She raised her hand. She could see through Velocity's actions. Cheetah had scared her just by causing her to stumble. Cheetah was nothing but a big bully. Charles would see how on the surveillance camera. She used a bow stick martial artists use to protect themselves in battles. Cheetah used it in an attempt to cause Windy, who was going at only 45 mph, to crash and get hurt, not counting on Windy's ability to pull out of most stumbles up to 75 mph.
