Jean shook her head. "I know you're asking Ivy her opinion, but I scanned every trace of the debris field for anything that would look like it would belong to the patient they were transporting. You know what I found? Zero, zip, nix, nada. It was like she had no personal effects except what she had on her. I included that with what I told Professor X. I had to cut the link because he actually said, she then mimicked Charles Xavier's voice as she said, "Shut. UP. Jean. Let me think." I don't think he ever told me to shut up, before. I was stunned silent and cut the communique so he could think. Why? What did I miss when I left to call Professor X?"
Ivy looked at Kitty, then Jean, then nodded along with what Jean was saying. "That makes sense to me. And Kitty, you got a point. It had to be all childhood. I mean, who never saw Bugs Bunny? Wile E Coyote and the Road Runner? I mean... Mind blown right there for me. But think about it, what would somma these scientists do to Jean or you or me? Or even Kara? I don't wanna imagine all the tests they did on her. We wouldn't have been treated any better. Mine was caused by an accident in a greenhouse. Wouldn't I also be.... Whaddya call it... A mutant?"
Jean shook her head. "You have similar attributes because of the accident, because you weren't born with the abilities. Not quite the same, but close. You were transformed. You have like sap in your veins now?"
Ivy shrugged. "All I know, Jean, Kitty, is my blood... Or what passes for my blood, is poisonous. I could kiss you two and you wouldn't be poisoned, but a transfusion would kill you."
"Or something like blood sister would make us very sick." Jean nodded. "When things calm down, you and the Prof need to have that talk about what exactly you are. Now, after your accident."
"Hero, Jean. I still wanna be a hero. Protect people like Alina from people like those scientists that did this to her." Ivy said as a reminder.
Meanwhile, back at Quincy's office, she sat Alina in a chair, after helping her get her skirt on properly, and put a bag of popcorn in her microwave, as she put disc 1 of volume 1 in the player and hit play, she commented, "Until we can get you some civilian clothes that fit. You'll be taught how to design your superhero costume and how to make it. I suspect, though, you'll be in Tailoring 101." The familiar theme of the series when it first started came through the TV speakers.
"This is what the original theme was when they started way back in 1930, before you or I were even thought of. I think my grandpa was about ten or so." (OOC: He was actually eight, as 1922 was when his portrayer Jack Klugman was born) Quincy commented. "I hope you enjoy this. I can't believe you were never introduced to these. I grew up on them." The whole first disc also held the first official looney tune, Bosco. All were black and white cartoons.
