Rage of Dust (1x1 w/ DarkMudkip)

Megohime made a face, not looking at Matsunaga, but giving a small nod. “Right.” He could hear the strain in her voice, but she wasn’t protesting.

Megohime felt him staring and glanced at him- why was he trying to sound like he was trying to help her? She gave a small shrug and turned her head away from him again. “Fine with me.”

The ride into space was uneventful and quiet, Megohime on edge the entire time, and once out in orbit and on Matsunaga’s ship, she felt truly alone.

Jin left with little word to Matsunaga, already having her orders to prepare and restore Shax as soon as she could, and overseeing the project meant she’d be indisposed for the next few days.
Megohime watched them haul Shax across the hangar, a frown on her face. “What will my work be?” She asked Matsunaga.

Megohime felt irritation that she’d be doing grunt work, but somewhat expected it. “Got it.” She wasn’t exactly sure what time of mercenary work he intended to use her for, but she was sure it was mostly just muscle.

Megohime gave another nod, she had no real choice in the matter, not if she were to have the bargaining chip for Masamune revoked.
Her room was empty except for necessities, a desk, a bed, and a closet- it was lonely. She felt like she was back with Gyobu and the Gjallarhorn.

Megohime bode her time anxiously, and when it finally came time to take her physical, she went where Matsunaga had told her to.

Megohime felt uneasy the entire time she was undergoing her checkup, but was glad it was over, perhaps she’d be able to pilot Shax sometime soon to keep her mind busy.

Megohime gave a silent nod, zipping up her pilot suit and pulling on the thick work jacket over top of it. “Shax’s fixed already?” She sounded surprised.

Megohime felt as though the statement was pointed as a jab at Masamune and his men, to say they were underprepared was an understatement, but they didn’t have the resources and power Matsunaga did. She nodded quietly, irritation clear in her eyeshadow she listened to him speak.

It was Gyobu all over again. “No, sir.” She said, pulling her eyes away from Matsunaga. “I’m just eager to get back into my suit.”

Megohime could only take his word for it, and soon enough she was out in space, back in Shax who looked better than ever before. It started off as small things, moving to escorts or even a few salvaging missions, it was all so lonely. Megohime sent Masamune prerecorded messages back to Mars whenever she could, updating him on what Matsunaga was having her do, him holding his end up with Shax. She never really expected any response messages, figured maybe her messages weren’t even making it to Masamune; had a feeling Matsunaga was watching her closely.

Megohime was a little annoyed by Matsunaga’s request, she had just gotten back from an escort mission and he immediately called her in for another physical? He had told her before that she was fine, so why check up on her so soon? She entered the medical facility aboard the ship, a soft frown on her face. “You wanted to see me, sir?”
