Escape Fate into Another (Poseidon & I)

He did look elegant but she was surprised he didn't mention her attire. "I look forward to seeing this play." With a smile she slipped into his limo.

Sitting beside her he smiled, "you look posativly breathtaking" he said softly. She'd called it too soon as he simply waited till formalities were over. "First a fine show" he said kindly as the driver pulled away with Horus above watching from the sky.

The moon was slowly transforming which was making her on edge in several ways. With a smile to him as she crossed her ankles with her looking out the window only to catch a glimpse of Horus in the sky. "What the hell!?" She had darted away from the door to find herself pressed against Magus.

"Be calm my dear, tis just Horus, my second son, he's been guarding you since I took interest" he said softly. "All of my children have special gifts, Horus can fly and has perfect sight" he explained.

"What?!" He took her by surprise in stating she's been watched this whole time. "Taking this tracking to a whole new level."

He chuckled "my sons want to keep you safe, you did what they couldnt, you made me live again" he explained. "Where Ahmon is a freespirit who follows fun and adventure, Horus is a serious minded soul with a one track mind" he said with a smirk.

"Sounds like his father." Smirking as she slipped away from Magnus with her hand draped over her chest to ensure he didn't peer down her dress.

Magnus smirked as he watched her out the corner of his eyes. "And don't be angry, Ahmon is watching over the boy, he's worried for his safety" he said. "He knows I'm fond of the boy and in his mind that makes him a baby brother, Ahmon will give his life to keep the boy safe from harm" he said to calm her. "

"Excuse me?!" There was a slight growl to her voice as her wolfish eyes flashed at Magnus. "That child is not to know of our kind. He still cries from his memory of me." That sentence made her tremble with her looking away from him. Her teeth dug into her lower lip with a painful look in her eyes. The event she spoke of was when Jason was taken from his bed by a kidnapper but Lillian had slain a man who tried to rape her. In the end Jason woke up just enough to see her at the end of her transformation which cause him to fear all animals but those with hooves. That night she managed to convince the child it was a nightmare from seeing the Halloween decorations and those getting a big jump on the holiday. But the fear in his eyes broke her heart, another reason she left that small family as it'd continue to hurt the boy she cared for.

Magnus took her hand "I promise he will not know, Ahmon is a master at being unseen, unheard and all around invisible" he explained. "Trust me please" he said as he tried to calm her down. "Come, let us leave the worries of the world behind, and enjoy an evening of art and enjoyment " he said as they arrived and he tugged her out of the car in front of the large theatre.

"Magnus." He had pulled or tugged her out of the limo to have her walking at his side. Women stood with their dates to gawk at the pair or mainly him. They seemed to desire him where as for her, she was indifferent. Though him stating one of his sons was a master at stealth didn't mean they weren't unlucky. Silently she obeyed him on entering the building only to be lead up to the private box he reserved for them both.

Magnus eased her seat out and saw to her comfort. Elseware Ahmon was so bored waiting, wondering if he should stay or if it would be ok to go. He was watching the boy play some game on a tv and wondered if it was as fun as it looked. Video games were an unknown to him, he'd spent so long helping Magnus he'd had little time for entertainment.

Jason was playing a simple game while his father had disappeared with a "friend". Jason was wearing sound canceling headphones his father got him months after his "mother" left. Yet once in awhile Jason would pause the game to look around.

Lillian on the other hand silently sat in her chair beside Magnus. She refused the wine and other treats that were offered, she even refused water.

"What's wrong lillian" Magnus asked as he noticed from the corner of his eye. He was afraid he'd screwed up, again, and that she was mad or just unhappy. Ahmon was disgusted Jason's father was bedding a woman while his son was awake instead of spending time with his son. It infuriated him to no ends, but he couldn't do anything about it.

Silently she reached over touching Magnus's hand. "Confused, why do you and your sons have such a strong interest in Jason? He's a human, a child with wild imagination that he believed what he saw that night was a nightmare. I was a nightmare."

"He matters to you.... so he matters to us, and he's innocent" Magnus explained. "Besides, those you care for will be protected" he explained. "Does a man need a reason to do what's good and right?" He asked with a playful smile as the second act started.

Silence fell from her lips as it seemed he was innocent himself. "You never taken a woman have you?"

Magnus had a hint of a blush as he watched the play. "........ no" he said finally as he felt embarrassed that he was a virgin courting a woman who clearly was not. The fact he probably couldn't please her made him feel ashamed.

"I thought it was strange a man who lived as long as you was acting as such." Her voice was soft with her hand resting over his own. "How do you know I'm the one? Our time, we court many and as time passes its when we know they are our true love. I may have experienced a puppy love as some would say but it was love in the end." Sighing with her pulling her hand away from him. "What you and your family is doing with Jason is considered stalking, you spying on me and pushing your way into my home....Its.." How would she say this without insulting him. "Theres not way to say this but what you've done is obsessive, controlling and drives any person away. I haven't ran off is the fact you've came into my territory and you know I can rip you limb from limb."

Magnus sigh as he felt shame... she was right, he'd forced himself into her life and was refusing to back off. "Forgive me...." He said quietly looking like the broken man she'd found again. "With our kind... it's difficult to explain" he said as he waa lost in the thousand yard stare. "As our kind age.... colors fade and dull, emotions dull till all we have left are memories of how those emotions feel. The older we get.... the colder we become. Till we find our other half, the one person who can save us, heal us... love us. The connection is instant for the males, our woman become our whole world" he explained.

"I just wanted you to see and know how precious you are to me....." He said realizing he really was just a broken old relic, a monster from a bygone age. "I just want to keep you and your loved ones safe..... to prove myself to you" he said feeling guilt crushing his heart. "I'm sorry" he stood to turn and leave "I'll stay away... I won't trouble you anymore" he said quietly about to vanish again. "But just for the record" he said calmly "the only reason you wounded me.... was I allowed it, because I trusted you and if my death would please you you were welcome to have it, because a life without you in it is but a hollow shell of existing" he explained.

Seeing he was going to run away and be a broken man. She didn't say a word as she got up with her purse in her hand just as he spoke she shook her head.

"You don't need to fight others." Her eyes fell on him as she felt bad for him just giving up so easily. "You say you experienced a rush of feelings. But have you ever considered how could you behave that would keep my attention? This date was a good start until you admitted defeat just now. An alpha doesn't follow someone who is beaten so easily. They follow the same person who'll fight beside them, look out for them and their well being...including themselves. Treat me like a lady...Be a gentlemen but you admitted defeat. Shame I was starting to like you."

Waving to him as she walked down the long steps to head outside. Out in the darkness she stood at the curb trying to wave a taxi down. Normally she didn't open up to a lot of people. Those who got an unfiltered talk from her were the people she liked. Sadly Magnus turned and walked away from her. Just as she got into the taxi a large truck blew its horn only to slam into the cars, she was in the middle of the wreckage. Even werewolf blood can handle so much and hers was at its limit only to keep her from death's door.

The horns were screeching, people screaming, sirens going, the smell of fresh copper filled her nose but her clothes were soaked, her shoes messed up as her body remained limp.

Magnus was left deep in thought, his mind rushing through information. He didn't know what to do or how to act, just that he had made a mistake. That's when the pain hit him and dreed, pure fear and like a shot he was gone. He'd never moved so fast and it was a strain for Horus to follow.

Finding the wreckage was easy and in seconds he was ripping metal away. "Please be alive... please gods give a chance to make it right!" He chanted till he found her. "Oh god lillian" he said gently moving debris off her "Please don't go" he said as he was frantic to help her.

Her dress was a mess and in her chest was a spike of metal sticking out. The sirens grew louder with the EMTs arriving. One young woman rushed out and ignored Magnus while she and her partner forced him to let Lillian go. In moments they placed her on a stretcher with a neck brace. Atleast she was alive but for how long? The woman didn't glance at Magnus.

"Saint Joseph Hospital." Her red eyes flashed as her sharp fangs glistened for a second. She was like him but fresher. Her partner and her took Lillian to the Hospital where her old lover had worked. Unfortunately, her old lover was an emergency contact. Which he was called, left his playmate in his bed to rush to the hospital while he got an reliable babysitter to watch his sleeping son and to escort the woman out.

Derick had rushed into the ER, demanding to see Lillian. "I'm sorry Doctor but she's in the OR. They don't know when she'll be out."

Magnus was pacing in the waiting room, word had spread like wildfire. No one dared approach Magnus for fear of his wrath as he looked like a caged wolf pacing. He muttered prayers in his ancient native language for her life.

He felt his powerful blood surging with new life, new power. She had woken something in him not seen in eons... the warrior, his jaw clenched as he made it his goal to do things right.... no more giving up.... no more despair or fear.

Hours went by and she was released into her room with her face bandaged, arms wrapped up with her chest. Derick ignored Magnus as he stood at Lillian's side with him holding her limp hand.

"Lily, wake up..." He whispered as he leaned down and gently kissed her forehead.
