Escape Fate into Another (Poseidon & I)

Magnus clenched his jaw as he looked the photos over memorizing them. "Because that is what I choose to do son" he said firmly leaving no room for argument as he slid sunglasses on to protect his eyes. "Now fetch the limo or I'll go on foot" he stated flatly. He could see in the last photo by her exspresion she was not happy with the man, and he would soon rectify that situation.

Nodding as he left to grab the limo as he knew if his father went into the sun light it could kill him. Once the limo came around Magnus was more than welcomed to get in. Where Lillian was settled in was her in a fast food restaurant with three little boys. The Hispanic looking one was the one who called her Mommy, Jason. The black haired boy smiled at his "Mommy" while he sank his teeth into the chicken nuggets. His friends were talking about dinosaurs which was the plan today, going to the Dinosaur Museum.

"You promised we're going right, Mommy?" Jason asked with hope in his voice.

"Yes, its your birthday and we're going." Laughing as she ate her burger and sipped on her tea. True, Jason wasn't her son in any sense other than she was with his father while he grew up and this was her longest relationship in her life. Who knew a child could steal one's heart. With the boys done, she drove them to the Museum where at the entrance a T-rex's toothy smile greeted its visitors. The boys were excited to be in such a fun place. "Stay close boys."

The limo soon pulled up to the limo and in a scramble Horus and another bodyguard we're at the door with a large umbrella to shield Magnus from the sun. "Thank you boys, I'll send for you when I'm ready" he said taking the umbrella and dismissing them as he entered the large building. Once inside safe from the sun he closed it and made more than a few people stare as albino people are very rare.

The boys were so excited about the fossils but Lillian was smiling while she was on guard. There were whispers as she felt a cold presence washing over her. Her eyes fell upon a familiar face but it didn't register in her mind who it was. Jason stopped and his eyes followed Lillian's.

"Do you know him, Mommy?" He walked over slipping his hand into her own while the other boys gathered around her.

"I don't know." Her hand held his tiny hand while her free hand rested on the other boy's back.

Calmly with the confidence of an apex hunter he approched, hand in a pocket and the other wielding the umbrella like a cane. "Hello lillian, it's nice to see you again" he said with a warm smile. "Hello little guy, sorry to startle you, your mom is a friend who helped me the other day" he said with a gentle smile as he squatted eye level and offered his hand "I'm magnus" he said with a genuine smile.

His voice reminded her of who he was but as he introduced himself to Jason the boy was about to reach for his hand but Lillian swung him behind her. "I thought you had fallen ill..." Her eyes watched him carefully with her long hair tied in a pony tail but locks had fallen over in her eyes. Though Jason looked at the man.

"How about you join us? Its my birthday." He was so innocent but he didn't see his Mother's expression at the invite.

He smiled unperturbed as he stood up "That's very kind of you little buddy bit I think it's up to your mom" he said with a pleasant smile. "You made me realize not taking care of myself was stupid, so I've been eating right and taking my medicine on time" he said with a gentle smile as he met her eyes with his as he removed his sunglasses.

Jason saw his eyes and grinned. "Wow, cool eyes." The boys were more excited about him than the bones until Lillian mentioned on them hunting for their own fossil. "REALLY?!" That was all it took as the boys followed Lillian to a special dig site where a few of Lillian's friends were waiting. The boys rushed off while Lillian stood back, watching. "Why are you here?" The coldness had returned to her voice as she looked at him out of the corner of her eye. "Also the boys are off limits to you and your boys. Like your sons...one of those boys is like a son to me."

He smiled unperturbed at her remarks "I'd never harm a child, more would any of my sons, we'd die to protect children" he said with quiet pride. "I wanted to see you again.... what I said was true.... you showed me how foolish I was being" he said watching the children play with a sad faraway smile as if it hurt him but was enduring the sight for a reason.

"See me?" Confused by this but when he mentioned she showed him how foolish he was being made her smile abit. "Often people would kill for what you have. So why waste it?" She returned her eyes on the three boys seeing them digging, brushing the sand away from already exposed bones. "eems odd you seemed to be able to find us here."

His sad smile never left his face "eternity is a fickle thing, it can be a blessing at times, but a curse others" he said putting his sunglasses back on to hide the blood tears forming. "My second son Horus has been keeping his eye on you since you left... you did what no one else in 9000 years could do.... you made me want to live" he said with warmth in his voice. "I envy you, to have a family.... to have given birth to a child of your own " he said unaware the boy wasn't truly hers.

"He's not mine." Alerting Magnus that Jason wasn't her child. "My ex got a girl knocked up before we started dating. When she gave birth, she abandoned the child and my ex took him in and raised him. When he and I started dating I helped raise him...So he calls me Mommy." Her tone soften as she spoke of how Jason did change her life. Though she could smell Magnus's tears which had her on guard. At this point she wasn't sure if she should console him or believe this was a trick of his.

"I see.... he's a lucky boy.... and his father a lucky man to have you" he said and tried to compose himself and took a breath. "I'm sorry...." he took a breath and was calm again. "Are you happy with this man Lillian?" He asked suddenly and sounded apprehensive, almost afraid.

"Why do you ask?" The tone he took seemed like he wasn't to happy. "If you're curious then say so. I'm single." She turned her eyes away from him to watch the boys as they were running around with some of the adults who were laughing. To be a child once more. "I stay in his life because he needs a female figure. Someone to show him compassion, gentleness and teach him how to treat a lady. Otherwise he may be the brats who think its ok to abuse a woman and show disrespect. That's why I walked away from his father." Lillian pulled her phone from her purse and texted Jason's father.

This shocked Magnus enough his glasses fell off and he felt slapped. "I see..... I was trying to be subtle and respectful" he said with a slight chuckle. "I see that didn't work" he said and turned to look at her. "Lillian, would you do me the honor of accompanying me to the theatre to watch a play?" He asked with a smile.

Now it was her turn to be shocked of him asking her to a theatre to watch a play. She stood there shocked knowing very little about this man or vampire. Its been awhile since she had gone out but she didn't feel right about this. "Perhaps next time." Finally she looked back at him to see him stumbling to put his glasses back on. "Jason, your father is on the way!" She called out to the boys to have them rushing over to share their discoveries. Lillian laughed as she knelt down looking at each one. While she stood up she looked to Magnus. "If you're keeping an eye on me then I should expect to see you around then?" Laughing softly as she escorted the boys out.

"Mommy? Can't your friend come to my party? You won't be sad if he's there." Jason had stopped Lillian as he looked to Magnus. "He looks sad."

Lillian kissed Jason's forehead. "Sweetie, it's your party but it should be with your friends. That'll make both of us happy. Besides, we'll see eachother again." Oh this child is troublesome at times. Brushing his black hair from his face as he waved to Magnus before leaving with Lillian, whose hips still swayed even in tennis shoes.

Magnus was disappointed she said no, but smiled at her invitation to try again later. "Yes, yes we will see eachother again" he whispered to himself with a soft smile and waved at the boy when he looked back one last time.

A short time later he was climbing into his limo and relaxing in the seat. "Horus, when we get home be sure I'm brought another inmate, I want to be at full strength within the week" he said making them all swallow hard at the fact he wasn't at full strength yet but they knew he could easily kill anything in his path including them without trying.

Lillian made sure to get Jason to his father and in which she left the Museum to enjoy herself. Now without the children she was able to relax at her apartment. There she had stripped to nothing only to listen to her messages to find out the ceremony of the werewolves was to take place within the week. To hear this only meant the packs were arranging marriages and she was old enough to be given to another pack but not just any pack, an alpha pureblood pack like her family. This news made her feel so ill that she rushed to the bathroom just to empty her stomach of lunch. Coughing and gagging, she laid against the cold tub. "Fuck.."

Magnus felt something was wrong, his abdomen bunched and he felt ill. He hadn't been I'll since before turning as a young hunter on the northern tundra. "Lillian" he said as the feeling was overwhelming and snapped "horus, take me to her home, now!" He shouted startling them

His instincts were never wrong, Lillian was in trouble.

Feeling better or somewhat as she pulled a robe on to cover her naked form. She wasn't in trouble but more as in discomfort. From her knowledge there was 6 alpha packs, including her own. One male was killed in the War recently so that leaves three males to be paired off with. One that every female wanted was up for grabs but she felt ill from thinking she'd be paired off with him.

While pale, she went to her small kitchen and poured herself ice cold water in hopes of feeling better.

There was a rapid knocking, frantic almost, and hard. Outside her apartment Magnus was close to panic but till she opened the door he couldn't enter. That formality among his kind was the cause of many deaths eons ago.

"Hold on!" Putting her glass down as she answered the door to see Magnus standing there looking worried. "Magnus?!" Her hand went to hold her robe completely closed. "What are you doing here?"

"Are you ok? Did someone attack you?" He said slipping past her and began franticly looking for danger. Soon it became apparent why vampires have to be invited as blood slowly started oozing from his skin, eyes, ear, nose and mouth. He was dying but still stood ready to fight for her, claws and fangs ready to die fighting for her.

When he pushed by her, she missed grabbing hold of him. To see the blood oozing out from his pores did scare her. "Magnus!" Snapping at him as she grabbed him to toss him out into the main hall to stop the bleeding. "No one is here and no one attacked me." There was a question on her tongue on how did he know she was in distress. Yet she figured his men were watching her every move. "You didn't need to rush here."

Magnus was gasping for air not needing it but to focus on something besides the pain. "I felt you..." he said softly "I heard your distress and call for help" he said trying to compose himself, thankful his black cloths hid the blood that had started to soak into them.
