Ghouls Dogma (1x1 with DarkMudkip)

“I just need a bit more rest... I promise I’ll be fine... I’ll be able to get up and move soon... Just a little more time..” Her head nodded forward, and blood oozed from the wound on the top of her head, a small portion of her skull caved in. “Just... a little more...” She murmured numbly, her eyelids so heavy, and she was so tired.

How in the world was he supposed to get flesh? There wasn’t exactly a bank for that sort of thing, and the meal Megohime had caught was already loaded up and being taken away.

He would have to kill someone. His hands were shaking at the thought. He would have to take a life to save his girlfriend. He tried looking around for someone who would look easy enough and found a young woman that looked a little younger than him. He swallowed hard and followed her before he grabbed her and pulled her into an alley, throwing her into a wall and immediately knocking her out. He knelt over her and wrapped his shaking hands around her throat.

He couldn’t help his gaze move over to the things she had dropped- text books and school papers to the local college. This was another human being, someone with dreams and aspirations, someone he was about to rob the life from. She looked so young, barely twenty, and he was going to kill her, take away the rest of her years to feed his dying girlfriend.

Megohime had to do this every time she had to feed? Had to look at what she was taking away from someone? It was terrible, the whole situation was terrible, what was he going to?

It was quiet, and Megohime didn’t call out to him, was she still out cold, or had she died from her wounds? What was he supposed to do?

Megohime flinched before slowly picking up her head, looking to Masamune with unfocused eyes. “What happened..?” She asked softly, words slurred a bit. “Are you ok..?”

He dropped beside her and new tears poured down his cheeks, "I couldn't do it..." He rasped, "I couldn't kill her...I'm so sorry...I just wanted to help you...but I'm such a coward..."

Megohime’s bruised eyes stung with her own tears, and she touched his cheek with her bloody hand. “Stop it... I never asked you to kill a human.. I never would’ve let you go if I knew that’s what you were planning..”

Her hand trembled against his cheek, and she tried to smile, but it hurt. “I already told you... I just need a bit of a rest...”

“No, you should go home... You shouldn’t be sitting in some old abandon building with a ghoul..” She squeezed his hand gently. “I’ll be home before you know it..”

Megohime didn’t want to argue with Masamune, not with how distraught he was. “Will you at least go home and get some things..? You need a blanket to stay warm... And your meds..”

Megohime nodded, giving his hand another small squeeze before letting go. “I’ll wait here, promise I won’t move a muscle..” She joked weakly.

He laughed weakly and headed off back home where he packed a spare blanket and pillow and his meds, leaving Kojurou a note saying he was at a friend's for the night before locking up and heading back to Megohime.

Megohime was right where she said she was, having taken off her jacket and used it to keep her innards in during her healing, which was progressing, but at a snails pace.

He moved as close as he could to her, setting up his pillow and blanket, "I brought you coffee for when you're ready for something to have in your stomach.."

“Thanks... I’ll take it..” She said, head resting back against the tile wall. “Maybe when I’m a little more patched up... I’ll look for something to eat..”
