Mornië utúlië (1x1 w/ Jikkah)

Ren only rolled back onto his side, eyes blank, not even bothering to look at the man trying to free him. He wasn’t going to be freed, not without the keys to all the locks keeping him locked to the ground.

Ren was actually shocked that the chains had been broken, granted the shackles themselves were still clasped to his wrists and ankles, with only a bit of chain remaining, but he was free. He stood, but on shaky legs, looking like he’d drop at any second.

Ren would’ve asked who he was, asked why he was freeing him when he was a guard, but he couldn’t speak, even if his mask was gone. He didn’t argue, finding it only slightly humiliating to have to be carried out like a child.

Motochika was almost out and free until he was spotted.
"Stop right there!!" One of the guards yelled. He panicked and held Ren right as he booked it as fast as he could for the sea.

“Stop him! He’s attempting to free one of the creatures!” Motochika heard his pursuers not far off behind him, the young man holding onto Motochika the best he could as he ran.

It was hard to run with the armor but Motochika made do, pushing his legs to carry him and the poor siren as fast as they could. He couldn't find Nana in there, which broke his heart, but he at least saved a fellow sea creature. When he reached the shoreline, he threw Ren as hard as he could and as far as he could into the sea before diving in after him, worming out of the armor and pulling his pelt over his shoulders to change into a seal.

Though Motochika started to swim easily, Ren only started to sink, struggling desperately to stay on the surface. The scale pattern markings on his body didn’t turn to scales, and the gill lines in his neck stayed just that- lines, and most disturbing of all, his legs stayed legs. The heavy cuffs on his wrists and ankles only weighed him down, and in his sorry starved state, he had little energy to keep himself afloat, and soon, he slipped under the surface. He looked so tired, trying to kick and swim, but he was too weak, air bubbles escaped the mask, and he looked close to giving up; what had the Order done to him?

Motochika moved over quickly, sitting under Ren so he landed on his back and pushed the sorry Siren up to the waters surface. What happened to him? Why was he cursed to such a state?

Ren coughed out the water he had taken in, though the mask made it a bit hard to drain completely, clinging desperately to Motochika, but not trying to push him under. Was this Siren under a curse the humans out on him, or was he born in captivity!

Ren did his best not to drown Motochika or himself, holding onto the Selkie as if his life depended on it.

Ren scrambled up onto the rocks the best he could, chest heaving from exhaustion, looking like a drowned rat. He still didn’t utter a single thing, didn’t even attempt to make a single noice; just what had they done to him?

Ren flinched at the voice in his head, shoulders sagging before he looked over his shoulder at Motochika, eyes sad. “They’ve sealed my magic..” Motochika could just barely hear Ren’s voice, as if he were far away.

He could see the young mans ribs through his soaked clothes, clear that if he was eating, it wasn’t much. He looked tired, broken, and understandably so; but maybe the Siren had seen Nana?

"Do you...have you seen a young woman at all in that place? Brown hair? Maybe...no, she would have had the baby by now..." The Selkie seemed distracted with his own question.

The siren turned to look at him, a quizzical look on his face for a moment before she answered. “Some did talk about... Pregnant woman who gave birth.. Vanished with no trace..” He couldn’t make out all of what Ren was saying, but the important parts came through.

Disappeared? Without a trace? What did that mean? Did something take her? How was he going to find her now? He vocalized in soft disappointment and rested his head on the rock. What was he going to do now? "What did they do to you, young one?"

Ren refused to look at Motochika, his eyes becoming sad, and so full of hatred. “What humans always do.” His bruises didn’t hide well on his pale skin, showing easily just what had been done to him from the bite marks and large lumps.

“Tired... hungry... Haven’t had food for three, four days now...? These chains are heavy..” He laid his head down on the rock, though it didn’t look comfortable due to the large clunky mask.
