Is He A Lover or A Fighter? (Part 3) WF+GF

Jake looked at Adri when she suggested the allergy test. He just gave her a nod and would talk later about it.

He rubbed Adri's back. Jessica said she understood where Adri was coming from. She also explained she probably enjoyed time with her nephew as well which was true. "Right. I don't want her to feel obligated to watch him but also don't want to take that opportunity to spend time with Owen."

Adri brought up good points. "We don't want the kid withseparation anxiety or is high maintenance." He watched the two kids playing and Jake smiled. "He's always been with family for the most part. You guys are definitely giving us some things to discuss."

Jessica started asking Adri about wedding plans. She was a typical girl excited about the word wedding.

"I think I'm the one that will have the separation anxiety. It would be quiet around the house with out him. Our day revolves around him. What do when he's gone?" She laughed.

Adri told Jess a little about the wedding. They didn't have much to discuss because they were still early in the planning phase. Jess spoke about her wedding and how hard t was for her to plan and stay on budget. But she was happy with the wedding she had.

Maxie came over to Adri's side of the table and tugged Adri's shirt. She picked her up and set her on the table. "Hello cutie." She smiled and Maddie reached out for her hair. "Look at her dress Boo. She's so cute." She smiled.

"I want a girl so bad. Two actually but boys run on my side of the family and his sister is having a boy. I know we are going to have a lot of boys." She rolled her eyes. "But we will keep going until I get girls."

Jake gave them a big dramatic nod. "It's true. She would miss him and want to go pick him up. Or call five times checking on him." He teased but was serious.

When the girls talked weddings the guys talked sports. Joe didn't want to give much away so they talked football. He too was a Broncos fan.

Jake smiled and shook his head. "Give her back..." He chuckled. "She's very adamant about getting girls. Not just one but two she's determined to have two. I hope she gets them. If not I have a life time of hearing her complain." Owen ran over to Adri and looked at her playing with Maddie and it was obvious he was jealous but didn't want it too show but then started to whine at Adri. "Uh oh. I'm not sure who he is jealous of..."

Adri pouted when he told her to give Maddie back. "We are talking." She told him. But when Owen came over and started to whine, she picked him up and set him on the table next to her.

"You are going to have a little sister one day and she will wear pretty dresses just like this one." She told him. "You are going to start sharing your toys...eventually." She told him and kissed his cheek. She set them both on the ground to run around and play again but Owen stuck to her side. She set him on her lap and kissed the top of his head.

"I'm his favorite parent so.." She teased Jake and smiled at Jess. "We are going fishing tomorrow and afterward we are going to cook and eat dinner. You guys should come over. I am determined to catch a fish bigger than Jake's but just in case I don't four rods are better than two." She offered and looked from Jake to the couple across from them.

Jake rolled his eyes to her talking to Maddie. He looked at Jessica, "Just wait my fiance will want to buy her little designer clothes just because she doesn't know any girls to buy for at this point and she's dying to."

"She think she is his favorite. I'm his favorite but she lets him get away with more." He chuckled. "We'd love for you to join us plus this guy I'm sure would love more time with his new friend.

Jessica and Joe looked at each other, "We could probably do that. We will see how cranky she is and how the day goes. You know how kids can be. I don't want you to have a fussy baby on vacation bothering you guys." She told them.

"I'm sure she will be fine." Jake told them. He motioned to Owen. "Should we continue our walk babe?"

She played with Maddie's dress and her long brown hair. "You're so cute." She told her and tapped her little nose. "I would do it in a heartbeat." She said to buying Maddie designer clothes.

"Understandable." She looked at Owen, "We didn't really think about that." She laughed. "Hopefully he's in a good mood tomorrow. I guess we will see too."

She set Owen down so she could stand up and then she picked him up again. Max was up and ready to walk again. "We will see you guys tomorrow," Adri said. "Can you wave goodbye?"Adri asked Owen and waved at Jessica. He copied her and then laid his head on her shoulder. "Do you want to walk?" She asked Owen and set him down. He walked for a little bit but wanted up again. She stopped and picked him up.

"Can we just have a baby?" She asked Jake. "I have never suffered from so much baby fever before. I just want to have one already."

"She would too. Don't exchange addresses unless you packages in the mail." Jake warned.

Jake thought it over. "Maybe we can get him to nap for a long time tomorrow." Jake was hopeful and reaching but could dream.

Jake told them bye and waved by to Maddie. "She's adorable no wonder Adri wants one." He chuckled and wrapped his arms around her.

"Do you want me to hold him? Babe if that's what you want...we can have one. But they don't stay babies forever. You have to decide though before they make your dress. But I think I have a less chance of your dad wanting to murder me if we at least wait till we are married. But we can get to the camper and work on making one..." He teased and smiled. "Why all of a sudden do you want a baby?"

Adri laughed, "We could try but he's pretty set on his schedule. We would have to skip morning nap time to get him down for a long late afternoon nap."

"I know they don't. And I know it takes nine months for us to see the final product. It's not something I suddenly want Boo. Ever since you brought O home I have wanted one of our own. I just had work to drown out the feeling. Now being so close to being able to have one the "correct" way I can't hold it in anymore." She explained.

"I know we should wait until after the wedding. I keep telling myself I don't want to be a pregnant bride but I want a baby." She laughed. "It's not that easy Boo. I have to get my IUD thing taken out. We won't have a kid for a while but it will get taken out before our honeymoon. That's for dang sure."

"We don't have to take him off his schedule babe. I was just joking." He rubbed her back as they walked. "I don't know if I want to stop an activity if he's enjoying it just for nap time though."

Jake smiled and listened to her. "Since O huh? Even when he woke you up every few hours in the middle of the night? His diaper blow outs?" He teased.

He let out a sigh but was smiling. "Tell me when babe. I'm ready when you are. It is going to affect your body and your career more than mine. You tell me when and I'll be ready for baby making." He stopped her and kissed her softly and deeply. "I cant wait to experience that all with you Adge. I'll be right by your side the whole way. Every appointment. Every late night craving. All of it." He smiled wide before walking again. "But until we get your thing out I'm down for practicing." He kissed her cheek.

She made a ace at the blow outs, "Not so much the blow outs but we always had help. Sleeping was never a problem since we managed a pretty good switch off schedule. I guess it will be more taxing on me since it won't be formula this time but we will make it work." She told him.

"I know. I'll have a few months with all. Flat belly. They can have me to the teddy's and other lingerie until I am really too big to hide it and then I'll take a break. If we time it really well maybe I can be back in shape in time for the Fashion Show. They do it all the time." She told him.

She rolled her eyes, "Of course you're down to practice. You're always down to practice." She laughed and kissed him back. "Soon babe. Very soon."

It was nice they did have help from family and friends. "We do make a good team. You are pretty darn nice about letting me get sleep or rest when I needed it. You'd breast feed?" He asked. Jake wasn't sure if they really ever talked about it but Jake wanted what was healthiest for their child but also made Adri the most comfortable.

Jake just looked at her a moment. "Sorry I lost you at teddy's and lingerie. Mental images. Sorry...not sorry. Babe, maybe you could do a maternity line for them too. Pregnant women would want to feel sexy too right?" Adri really had thought about it though with timing and everything. "I can get you back in shape. Don't you worry about that." He told her with a smile.

He put his arm around her. "Of course I am always down for practicing. What idiot wouldn't be?" He walked with her and Max ran ahead just a little and Jake yelled for him and he slowed down but just sniffed around checking everything out. "Do you really want to be pregnant for the wedding? I mean I would be either way. I think your parents really would just be happy to have another grandchild to spoil and love. Plus we have to think about me with fights but I can go off of when we find out we are pregnant and go from there. I'm not missing our baby being born." He told her and looked at Owen.

"Of course. It's healthier. I wish he could have breastfed but we found the best formula for him as a replacement." She told him. "And I'd pump so you can do some feeding too." She laughed. "I'm not the only one waking up at three in the morning to feed the baby." She told him.

She rolled her eyes. "You're annoying." She laughed. "Remind me to never talk lingerie with you again." She bumped into him teasingly and wrapped her free arm around his waist.

She shook her head, "I don't. Not for the wedding." She said."I just want a baby and the thought of having to wait a little longer than a year sounds so long." She complained. "I just want to continue building our family. I'm not very patient." She said.

"That's the thing. You can have a fight two weeks before the baby and be fine. It's not like I want too many pictures. I just want you there for it. And if you have a fight before the baby then you will have some before the next one and you can really help. Versus training for a fight and being on a tight schedule and constantly trying to figure out if one night is a good night for you to get up and feed the baby. You know?" She asked.

"Plus you're champ and it will take a lot to know you down. Hopefully, the worst you get is a black eye and few bruises." She touched a tree so he couldn't say she jinxed him.

They did find the best formula for Owen. They needed the best with him being so little and needing vitamins and minerals. "He honestly could have been more high maintenance than he was with his formula. One of the guys at the gym's sister had to get a prescription formula for her baby." He told her.

He laughed. "I am not. You would have done the same thing if I mentioned a speedo. Don't even act like you wouldn't have." He told her and bumped her back.

"I didn't think you would. I know you. I mean you would look cute as a pregnant bride but I couldn't see you being thrilled about it. How about a month before the wedding we take your thing out? That gives us eight months after the wedding. I can have a fight within that time and it won't interfere with the wedding or having a baby." He smiled at her. "That is if we get pregnant right away. There is no guarantee of that. But you know darn well I will help feed the baby and do diaper changes. I did a lot with Owen. It wont change with the next one." He said with a smile.

Jake shook his head. "I glad you touched that tree. Otherwise I'll have to knock you out." He said with a smile. Owen snuggled into Adri but had his eyes open. "Should we head back baby? Get the fire going again and start those smores?"

"I know. It could have been that bad. We still need to go get the DNA testing to see if you are carrying whatever gene this guy has. Just to see if we can be aware if we can pass anything on. Maybe even check your sperm and my egg count just so we know we can make some babies." She laughed. Not that she was questioning his virility but she wanted to get all of her ducks in a row and be prepared for anything.

"I can imagine you in a speedo and focus, thank you very much." She laughed.

"We could probably get away with popping it out two months early. Even three. Or four." She smiled. "Not five. That's when you really start to show." She told him. She nodded her head that he would be helpful with the second baby.

She rolled her eyes. You try that and see how well it works when it's six against one. My family will come after you and when I think about, your sister would too." She warned. "Try me, biotch." She bumped his hip.

Jake forgot about having to get that test done. It made him a bit nervous that he could be the one that passed the gene on to Owen. "You still want to have kids with me if I do carry the gene?"

"Yeah well you are sexier in a teddy and lingerie than I am in a speedo so not my fault." He chuckled.

He gave her a nod. "Yeah that's true. We have time to think about it."

Jake shook his head at Adri. "I swear you are lucky to be holding our son. Otherwise you'd be in the lake right now. And you forget that I'm world champion so I would take all of them on." They got back to the camp site and Jake got Max some water before grabbing some wood and other material to start the fire.

"You ready for your lesson?" He put the logs in a teepee and then used smaller sticks at the base and between the logs. He explained that air had to have some place to come in through and the little sticks will catch the bigger logs on fire. He used some news paper too and used a match to start the sticks and paper on fire then blew air on it to get it going. Before long Jake had a big fire brewing. He stood there nice and proud with a big grin on his face.

"Of course boo. We can screen for it in the baby and take more precautions in the future. It will still be our baby. We will just know to be careful."

She made a face, "I don't think that's true. You look hot in a speedo." She smiled. "And even better in an elephant." She giggled

She laughed, "Yeah right Jake. Six against one? No, you couldn't." She shook her head. "You would put up a good fight but you wouldn't win. That's improbable." She told him, still laughing.

They got to camp and she tried to set Owen down but he held onto her tighter so she couldn't unless she pried him off of her. She grabbed them both jackets and tried to get his on.She recorded jake teaching her how to start a fire. She smiled at his big grin and turned the camera off. "Very nice Boo. You made a fire." She clapped him on the back and gave his butt a pat. "I was really expecting two sticks being rubbed together." She smiled.

"Looks nice though babe. I don't think Owen is going to enjoy it for very long though. He's getting sleepy. Will you help me put his jacket on?"

Jake didn't want to be the one to give their children the gene. He wanted his children to be healthy and happy but he knew that wasn't always the case.

He rolled her eyes at the elephant comment but you're sexier."

"They wish they could take me. Now your dad...he'd probably have a gun. That I'm not beating." He chuckled.

Jake shook his head. "I can't release all my tricks the first night. What fun would that be." Jake helped get Owen into his jacket. "You're getting tired? You got wore out playing with your girlfriend huh?" He kissed his head. "Daddy will have to teach you the art of Smores tomorrow." He rubbed his back and sat behind Adri to wrap his arms around her from behind and kissed her shoulder. "This is nice..."

"That's true. Andre' might have on too. You aren't going to beat them. That is for sure."

She smiled and nodded her head, "Yeah it is." She said softly. She closed her eyes and listened to the fire crackle. She looked up at the sky and saw the stars twinkling. It was nice to get away but she didn't think she could do it all the time. They did things she liked to do all the time though. So doing something Jake planned out by himself was really special.

"Maybe when our kids are older, we can give them a day where they pick what they want to do and as a family, we go and do it. Not necessarily something big like go to Disneyland but if they want to go to the movies together we all go. Or if they want to go mini-golfing, we all go. I think that would be cool. I think we will be at Chuck E Cheese a lot though. At least when they are younger."

"You wouldn't protect me?" He asked her with a small smile.

In Vegas it was hard to see the stars. His hands rubbed her arms and sides. Jake really missed the quiet that they didn't really have in Vegas. He loved his life in Vegas though but to slow down and count his blessings once in awhile was nice.

"I like that idea baby. Does that mean I can pick too? I think it would be fun to see what the kids come up with. Let's just hope the girls don't pick anything too girl and same with boys. But I like the idea of starting traditions too. Coming out here for holidays could be nice. And maybe finding a pumpkin patch for Halloween. What was one of your favorite things to do as a kid?"

"I'd be dead remember?"

"Are you a kid?" She asked and chuckled. "Yes, actually, you pretty much are an overgrown child. I guess you can pick a day. I know my days will be spent at the spa. You guys won't have to come. Those will be daddy days where you can stress about lunch and clothes." She smiled.

"When my brothers left me at home. My dad would take me to get ice cream. It was our time alone. It was nice. And if I had been really good, he would take me to Toys R Us so I could pick out a new doll or whatever toy I wanted. It was really special when I had no budget." She smiled.

"I said beat you up. I didn't say kill you. Gosh that turned dark fast." He chuckled.

Jake just smiled. "I refuse to grow up in some aspects of life. But I feel great." He flexed his left arm. "The spa? Babe...that's not how that works. It's family day you pick something for the family to do. Now go shopping that could work." He told her and shook his head.

He smiled at the memory Adri shared with him. "Of course no budget in Toys R Us. Of course." Jake wished he had memories like that to share with her about his dad. Normally his mother would just work and he would be stuck at home with his step father. But there were very few good days where he would have time with just his mother. "I remember when I was little on weekends that my mom had off, which wasn't often, we'd sleep in then get up and eat cereal in living room while watching cartoons. That was a huge deal we never got to do that. And then we just stayed in our pajamas all day and made a fort in the living room out of the furniture and blankets. I even had my own little flashlight. We watched movies all day and ate popcorn." He smiled at the thought. "That was fun."

After a few minutes he kissed her head. "Want me to take him inside? I can come back out with everything for the best smores ever." He offered.

"I am pickin out something for the family to do. The family gets to spend the day with daddy and mommy gets to go to the spa. It will be nice." She smiled.

She liked his memory. She knew it was hard for him to think of happy memories when he was a kid. "That sounds fun Boo. Forts. I don't know when I last built a fort. We should do that when we go home. That's fun. A no babies allowed fort maybe." She smiled.

She looked at Owen and shook her head, "He's not down yet. He's just tired. I should put him down so he can run around a little bit more but I don't want to hear him throw a fit." She said softly. "I can lean forward and you wiggle your way out though." She told him.

Jake rolled his eyes. "That isn't how this works babe." He told her and tickled her side slightly.

"Yeah we should totally build a fort. I like the idea of a no babies allowed fort. Where would we build it? The living room or our bedroom?" He pressed his lips against her neck.

He rubbed his head and kissed it before sliding out from behind Adri. "Maybe when I come out with everything he will get down and help me." He suggested as he went inside. He grabbed the marshmallows, graham crackers, Hershey's bar and Reese cups before grabbing the forks to roast them over the fire. He came back outside and setting everything down. Once the marshmallows were on his fork he looked at Owen. "Hey buddy, want to help daddy roast these? Come here...daddy will show you the art of roasting a marshmallow then I'll give you a piece of chocolate. Just don't tell mommy." He smiled at Adri.

Owen got down and walked over to Jake with his pacifier in his mouth. Jake was squatting down by the fire and put the marshmallows over the fire. His other arm was around Owen and he was explaining they had to leave them over the flames until it turned a nice golden brown and they were a little gooey but not too gooey. Owen seemed to be really concentrating on what his father was saying despite really probably not being able to understand what he was saying. After the first two marshmallows were done he showed Owen how to put two crackers down then a Reese on one side and Hershey on the other. Then the marshmallow went into the middle. He told Owen to give that one to mommy. He looked at Adri and then the smore but carried the plate to her before running back to Jake who gave him a piece of chocolate.

"No you won't. Bedtime is in an hour and a half. We are not pumping him up with chocolate unless you want to stay up with him." She warned. She let him down and tugged his shirt and jacket down. He walked over to Jake and stayed between his legs but wanted to hold the fork.

Adri picked up her camera and took some pictures of Jake and Owen together. She record a sweet little video of Owen looking up at Jake. Then she went back to pictures.

She sat back down and held her hand out. It was only a few steps to hand her the plate but she moved forward to make it one step so he wouldn't drop the plate. She thanked him and gave Jake a look when he gave Owen the chocolate. "Okay. You're staying up with him. He's one and he hasn't had that much sugar before. How do you think his body will handle that?" She asked but raised her hands. "Too late now. He'll flip if you take it away."

Jake rolled his eyes but smiled. "Babe it was one small piece of chocolate it's not like I gave him the whole candy bar. He will be fine. If he is bouncing off the walls, I'll take care of him." She handed him a piece of cracker too.

He pointed to her smore. "How is it? Is it the best smore you ever had?" He asked and took a bite of his own before sitting down next to Adri and having Owen come over with him. He pulled him up on his lap so he wouldn't be close to getting into the fire.

Owen ate his chocolate first then worked on his cracker. "Is that good big guy?" Owen kept saying, "Mmmmm." He chuckled and finished his smore and wiped his hands on a paper towel. "They are delicious but messy."

"So swimming and fishing tomorrow. That will be fun."
