Our heroes dodged the Pits they had previously fallen into and reached the deep chamber. At the center of this big room stood a strange, big glowing chain; As if made of pure energy, it stretched to depths unknown through a hole in the middle of the chamber.

Neither Rosalina, Wii Fit, nor Polari had any idea of what this could be, making Diego even more confused. However, their focus in the mysterious chain quickly shifted when they saw that the monstrous goopy tentacled creature was inside as well. One of its extremities still twisted around the poor Zora Messuse.

"L-let me go...please..." Begged the Zora. The creature simply roared as smaller tentacles emerged from the tip of the said appendage and circles around the Zora's body, contouring around her rear, breasts and between her legs making her gasp.

The beast however sees our heroes and quickly roars in fury while more of its ooze spills from its body...

It took a while, but they eventually got out. It took several minutes for them to get down and then back up, but they did. Diego looked outside and noticed it was in fact dark. Judging by the appearance of the moon, it was probably around midnight. Exhaustion and focus was keeping him from thinking on what hapepned.

Of course, as they went through the chamber and dodging pits, he noted there was an eerie glow.

"That's not good," Diego said as he ran to see what was going on. And his answer was delviered when he saw Gooper or what looked like what having its tentacles squeezing around the Zora in admittingly suggestive ways. However, Diego couldn't let that or the fact the Zora messuse was attractive and near nude distract him.

"Well, it's another dark slime monster. While I distrct it, try and get her to safety," Diego noted before he began launcing a barrage of shots over in the eyes of the Dark Kraken, hoping to try and distract it.
 
Rosalina and Wii nodded and moved in position. The shots his right upon the Darksplatter Kraken, making it jerk back. It appeared to be very displeased, sending a glitched roar before flailing its limbs, including the one with its Zora prisoner, at him.

The two gals, meanwhile, circled each around the monster, trying to find an opening to free the poor messuse from its clutches. When the time was nigh and the creature was glaring directly at Diego, the two acted up. Rosalina sent one of her Lumas as a bullet while Wii Fit Trainer headbutted a soccer ball she made appear and launched it at great speed and strength at the holding tentacle. The two attacks hi right on the spot and pieced through the limb, chopping it off (A rather surprising outcome to the two gals as they simply wanted to make it lose grasp.)

The Zora was falling down but the cosmic princess quickly used her magic to lower her descend. The fish lady happily moved towards them, "Thank you so much!" She said.

Now the Kraken was really peeved! Its chopped limb simply turning into a pile of black ink before a new one spawned from its gooey body. Stretching its limb, the creature latched upon a pillar in the room and pull it out of its base with great strength. Basically owning a blunt weapon now, it then swung the whole pillar towards Diego like a mace.
 
Diego was keeping his eye out on Wii and Rosalina, in order to go and try and rescue them in case the Darksplatter Kraken was going to try something. Of course, he maintained in having the Kraken being focused on him. However, Diego was surprised to see the monsterous squid lost its tentacle thanks to the effort of the two ladies.

"Glad you're okay," Diego told the Zora with a smile as he pulled her closer to them in order to get her safely behind them.

Diego saw the monster grab a pillar and it was trying to attack Diego. Diego dodge it thanks to exploiting the video game-like physics of his cabailities and he then proceeded to use the Stealth Burst technique in order to launc a surprise explosion over at the Kraken in his eye.

"We need to get rid of that pillar," Diego told the ladies before resuming to fire on the Kraken, wishing he was able to do some heavier attacks from long-range.
 
The two girls nodded. Luckily for them, the Zora managed to reach the stairs, away from the Kraken's harm. The beast now was fully focused on Diego & Co. and immediately swung the pillar downwards, right to where they stood.

They managed to dodge but the sheer force still hit Rosalina and Polari, sending them to the floor. the Princess winced, but quickly got up again.

Wii charged her Sun Salutation, a pose casting upon a ball of energy, however in order to be effective she needed to charge it a bit longer. Diego's Stealth Burst did manage to buy her some time, but she still needed more.

Rosalina quick called Polari to attack with a rain of rapid fire star bits.
 
Diego kept focusing on trying to distract the Kraken from attacking either Rosalina or Wii. However, he knew he would need to go closer. After using the Stealth Burst at the eyes of the Kraken, he went closer and performed a powerful Smash attack in the front, with the attempt of blinding the beast even more.

"Be careful everyone! We will win this!" Diego told them with confidence as he kept firing, managing his distance between the himself and the Darksplatter Kraken.

He couldn't help but recall the weird Mario power-up moment he had and he wished he could gain that sort of power once more. He had no idea what it was, but he felt like he needed that power. To protect them.

To protect everyone.
 
As he recalled however...a strange voice echoed through his head. The very same one he had heard before...

"Do not feel yourself restrained...the power still lies within you...you just have to believe in it..."

Diego could feel something inside him. Some kind of powerful lurking inside. Would he call upon it once more?
 
Diego listened to the strange voice in his head... he had no idea wh was going on. However, he wanted to access the power. He needed to. There were too many lives at stake. He took a deep breath and began calling upon that inner power coming from him.
 
The power...he could feel it within...and so, he activated it!

Diego's body was encased by the very same life from before. His armor transforming into that Mario-inspired piece he once wore against the Chaos Piranha. His cannon now of a shining red and the famous hero's cap now manifesting upon his head.

And not a moment too soon! The Kraken was already lifting its makeshift weapon, ready to bring the pillar down upon him...
