She groaned in her sleep, her face wrinkling as she stretched. As her eyes opened, allowing the light to filter in, it took a moment for her to focus on the blank wall. At first she was confused, not remembering where she was. Panic struck a nerve. She thought it had happened again, but then the memories of making it to the gate came back. They were followed by her evening with Jakob. She smiled recalling their conversation. That was when she felt his breath across her skin. Her eyes opened wider. ‘I’m..not alone,’ she thought. Slowly her eyes shifted, trying to get a look at who was with her. She turned her head and saw him. “Wh-What are you doing here,” she asked.

Jakob groans quietly when he hears her voice, which effectively pulls him out of dream land for a little while. "Five more minutes baby.." He mutters to her before readjusting himself, starting to fall back into his dreamscape, as he is very comfortable. His arms keep her against him, one of them is draped lazily across her breast, scratch marks from the night before look very new on his arm, hinting at what they had been doing,

‘Jakob?’ She couldn’t believe it was him. Pushing his arm off of her, she quickly scurries to the wall. Putting her back against it, she draws her knees up to her chest and tries to cover her body. “Jakob! What is going on? What are you doing in here? You left me last night, and now you’re….we’re naked? I don’t,” she began shaking her head, and then she noticed the scratches on his arms. “Oh my….did we..did we…..” She put her hands over her face as she blushed wildly. “You mean you and I..last night? Oh Jakob I’m so sorry. I can’t control when she comes out. You know I would never..well not never..but you know I wouldn’t just..throw myself at you. I mean you’re handsome..well of course you’re handsome..but I would..want..things..to be different. I would want candles..soft music..a bed..a soft touch,” her blush deepened. “If we ever..I mean I’d like that..if we ever..if you ever wanted to..I’m going to shut up now,” Tessa huffed, realizing she had divulged how she felt about him.

[Arriving from Amphitheater]

Miller was furious by the time he got down to Cell Block C, finding a team of well armed and suited men waiting for him.

"Gambler reporting," one of them announced, all of them standing ready.

"This way," he ordered, storming down the hall, "We are extracting Private Garner from the cell. He is naked and unaware. Two of you will cuff him and take him to the interrogation room in Block B. The rest I want to handle the patient. She needs to be taught a lesson, and she may act out violently. It seems there is a relationship growing there. We need to break it before it begins."

They continued down the hall, past a certain Pyro's cell Miller knew of as he continued to speak, "We have enough trouble keeping that siren from sinking her claws into every staff member. Now we have guards thinking they can use their work time to fuck patients? The Board's going to be having a word with Black Hand when this is done."

Jakob starts to get dressed while she speaks, putting back on his chest rig and placing his helmet on it, attaching it before looking at Tessa. "Don't be sorry.. It was fun, I hope we can do it again." He admits to her. "But I understand what you mean, your other side just wanted things to be different." He explains. "And if I'm honest, I don't know if there's going to be consequences or not, but we can try to work through this.. I'll see you later Tessa." He says while standing and walking towards the door.

They got to a door and Miller could see Jakob through the small glass screen, smiling to himself. Good, he was still inside. Making hand signals the group split into two, pressing themselves against either side of the walls and waited. Miller keyed in his own code, his thumb hovering over the unlock button.

"Remember the plan. Jakob is cuffed. The patient is beaten."

He pressed down on unlock and the door clicked open, and suddenly chaos erupted. Gambler jumped forward, throwing the door open as two tackled Jakob, yelling at him not to resist arrest. While they cuffed his wrists behind his back the others dragged a naked Tessa into the middle of the room, batons at the ready. Miller didn't know they were electrified until the first hit as her body jolted and squirmed on the ground. This team held nothing back.

"Private Garner, your being detained for abandonment of your post and fraternizing with a patient. Gambler, you are free to commence."

Miller and one other guard held Jakob down, keeping him on his knees so he had to watch as the other men circled Tessa and began taking turns with their electric batons, beating her down. One focused on her knees and shins, beating her so hard her skin broke and started to bleed. Another focused on her arms, one taking all his effort at her stomach, hitting it over and over. One man cracked her over the side of her head, hitting her ear.

"This is the punishment for patients," Miller snapped.

She was sitting in her cell listening to rumbling of her stomach. “I’d eat a bug, but even the bugs are smart enough to stay away from this place,” she mumbled. Sighing heavily, she heard footsteps approaching. They were fast, hurried. Kaige was sure they were not those of the doctors coming to start their daily fun. No. They were traveling far too fast. Curious as to what was up, she stood from her sitting position in the middle of the room and headed over towards the cracked glass. Her eyes widened at the processional of people making their way down the hall. As the neared, she could hear their conversation. ‘What?’ She backed away from the glass. ‘Natalie. Oh no Natalie.’ She rushed over to the door trying, for the first time in years, to open it. When it was clear she wouldn’t be able to pull it open, she stepped back and began shooting flames directly at the control panel. Having been reinforced, she made barely a dent in it. “Damn it,” she screamed, slamming her open palms on the door. “Open this fucking door! Let me out! Let me out, or I’ll burn my way out, and when I do, I’m gonna fucking burn this whole place down! I’ll burn every inch of it to the ground, and I’ll destroy every living non human being in this place with it! Now open this damn door!” She continued to pound the door, her hands turning red. “Rufio! Rupi! Do you hear me? Open the fucking door, or you’re all dead! I want out! I want.....” She stopped her efforts, all of them, her yelling, beating the door, everything, and rested her forehead against the door. “Please be alright,” she whispered.

“Thank you,” she told him, finally lowering her hands. “You’re most….understanding. It’s not that I don’t find you….attractive. It’s just that I..would prefer..to take my time, and I don’t want such a thing to happen in here. I know you understand.”

She stood up and was about to pick up her clothes when the doors opened and the flurry of active began to transpire. Men rushed in, and she was grabbed. The clothes in her hands fell to the floor as they forced her to the center of the room. “Jakob,” she cried out. “What’s going on?” She felt the impact and the electricity surge through her. Her toes curled as she was racked with a strong muscle spasm. Her eyes focused on Jakob who was being forced to watch. “Jakob,” she whispered before feeling yet another and another and another blow. The electricity ran through her body, lighting up her muscles, causing them to tighten against her will. She could feel her skin, her muscles, burning at their touch as she cried out, “Stop! Please!” Her knees ached. She could feel the blood oozing. Tessa was sure her arm was broken. The urge to vomit grew stronger as she struggled to breath with the onslaught of strikes to her stomach. Blood ran down her face as her head gave under the strong force of the baton to her head. Tessa screamed in agony. “I didn’t….do anything,” she yelled. “Jakob! Please! Help me! I didn’t….do….anything….wrong!”

Jakob feels himself hit the ground, feeling the cuffs snapping on to his wrists. "Hey! She didn't do anything!" He yells while squirming against the hold of the two guards, his hands are bound so he is unable to reach for his sidearm which is still at his side. "Get the fuck away from her! She's not the patient from last night!" He yells before his face is shoved down against the ground, the two Gambler units picking him up and escorting him out of the cell. "She didn't do anything!" He yells again before one of the guard smashes him upside the head with his rifle, forcing Jakob to crumple on to the ground outside of the cell, completely unconcious and broken from seeing Tessa get beaten, even though it was Tess from last night, but they wouldn't understand that..

He let two of the guards escort Garner out, watching as they beat the girl into submission. When they were finished and she lay there bleeding, broken, and only somewhat conscious he stepped forward, his boot stepping down on her hair so that it pulled painfully against her scalp.

"This was the work of Jakob Garner," he stated, "Maybe next time a guard comes in waving his cock, you'll do better then drop all your clothes and flash that tiny cunt of yours. But you couldn't resist, could you? Had to charm your way into some good fashioned fun, as I see it. Well know this. If it wasn't for Garner, none of this would have ever happened to you."

He removed his boot, turning and striding from the cell with the unit at his heels. Once the cell was closed and locked once more he directed them to carry Garner to the interrogation room, then found another guard and asked for a nurse and medical kit be sent down in ten minutes.

"We don't want her dying on us just yet," he sneered, "But give her ten minutes to sit through the pain. It will give some much needed time to evaluate her actions."

With that he turned and left, set on returning to the Amphitheater and the meeting. He could visit Garner in an hour or so, when he woke.

[Enter from Offices and Labs]

Jakob walks into cell block C, looking at Tessa's cell for a moment before looking around, the other guards would be eating breakfast or lunch.. He had lost track of time. He walks up to the cell, typing in a code before walking in, deciding not to use his ID card as it can be traced.

He holds up a finger to whichever personality is inside before reaching up and turning off the camera, grabbing his phone and placing it over the camera lense, starting a recording and then putting it on loop of Tess/Tessa in the corner of the cell. He then turns the camera back on, that's all they would see.

He looks back at Tess/Tessa. "Are you okay?" He asks, a worried expression on his face.

She had laid there on the floor, not even bothering to get up. When the nurse came in with the kit, she wouldn’t even move to allow her to help her. “Just go,” was all she said to her. Tessa had never been treated like that before. She didn’t think people could really be that cruel in real life. In the movies, yes, but this wasn’t the silver screen. This was real life. It wasn’t fake blood that was now dried to her face. The pain she felt was real, and it was something she couldn’t forget.

The door creaked open, and she didn’t move. It was utter fear of who it was coming back. Her skin still burned from the beating she had taken. All she did was close her eyes, waiting to feel the crack, the shock, hitting her body again. When it didn’t come, she lifted her head and turned to see him lifting a finger to his lips. After her spoke, she gave him a strange look. “Am I..okay? What..do you think,” she asked turning her head and resting it again. “Don’t touch me. Please. I can’t..take..another beating..like that.” Tessa was no making effort to hide the tears now running from her eyes. “He said it was because of you..Jakob. All of this..was because of you. I came here..for help..and they beat me. I wanna go home Jakob. Bring me the papers. I’ll sign. I just want..to go home.”

"Tessa.. I'm so sorry.." He says quietly, sitting down next to her and lightly brushing his fingers over the bruises that were beginning to form. "They're cruel.. I don't know why they would beat you like that.." He says while reaching out, wiping a tear from her eye. "Please forgive me." He says. "I could never live with myself if you lost faith in me." He says.

"You shouldn't have come here.. This place is evil, they keep you here, you're their.. Property.. There's no papers to sign, they want to study you, not help you." He says quietly to her. "I'm so sorry.. I wish I had just let you leave, it would've been better.. Please forgive me, I would never hurt you.." He says to the woman on the floor before him.

She slowly pushed herself up as he talked, filled with horror at what he was saying. “Study..me? I can’t..go home? You knew this..and you didn’t..let me leave..when I had the chance? Why would you do that..to me? Jakob you knew they wouldn’t..let me leave..and you stopped me? Do you hate..my other side that much..that you want her..to be kept her,” she winced as she sat up further, wanting to stand. “I can’t.. stay here. I can’t..breathe in here. You have to let me out. They have to let me out. Please Jakob. Find a way to get me out of here. You owe me that much.”

Jakob sighs quietly. "I know.. It's my job Tessa, Tess killed a good ten guards, what else was I meant to do?" He asks before leaning back, running his hands down his face. "I don't know if it's possible to escape from this place.. It's made to be extremely difficult to escape." He explains. "I can try though.. I'd need an opening, a distraction, chaos, anything.. Tess could pull that off." He suggests.

“A distraction? Yes. She could pull that off, but I don’t want to use the trigger. I hate falling asleep. I feel so..out of control. I don’t know what’s happening. It’s like being in dark without being able to see or hear. It’s like being asleep. I hate it.” She looked away, not even realizing she had revealed a secret. “Ten guards. I killed..ten guards. I didn’t want to know before, but now I do. If I’m going to spend my life in this place, then I want to know. How did I do it? What’s this power the other side of me has?”

Jakob shrugs. "She touched someone's face and blood came from the skin she touched, then she looked at them and reduced them to a fine red mist, so I assume it's something to do with blood.. And when she kissed me she started to suck my soul out or something, though she didn't do that last night." He explains to her. "It's kindve freaky." He admits.

“Bl-Blood,” she stutters, disgusted. “She bled them out. She took all their blood..from their bodies. What a horrible way to die. She can..I can do that, but I can’t,” she said, letting her head hang. “I can’t do anything like that. The only time I make anyone bleed is when I cut myself shaving my legs. I don’t understand. How can something like this be a part of me, and I can’t do it?”

"Tessa you gotta understand that I have no idea either, the only way I'd be able to know is if I ask Tess myself, but I'm not going to let you fall asleep again." He says to her. "You still haven't told me, do you forgive me?" He asks her, lightly placing a hand on her arm. "Please Tessa." He says. The guard obviously feels something for the woman before him, though Miller had attempted to crush the relationship, it didn't work out very well.

“Forgive you,” she asked, raising her eyebrows. Tessa wanted to stand, but her knees ached, and she wasn’t sure they would even support her weight. Trying to find comfort in a sitting position, she groaned. “Jakob, I..hurt..from my feet to my head. People I don’t know came in and..beat me..for something I didn’t do, and this..man told me it was because of you. I’m not angry that you kept me here. After hearing what I did, or at least the other side of me, I don’t blame you. I murdered innocent people. Finding out how I can do what I do, and stopping me from being able to do it again is important. So no, I’m not angry with you for that. There is nothing to forgive you for concerning that. I just don’t want..to be beaten again. I killed those people, but in a sense, I didn’t. That’s confusing, I know, but it’s the truth. I would never kill anyone. Ever. Even after what they did to me, I still do not wish any harm to that man or any of those other men. I can’t..stay mad at you Jakob. That man is misinformed. He is mistaken. He doesn’t know what’s really going on. So he reacted by having me beaten. It’s not your fault. No matter what he says. There is nothing to forgive you for. You did nothing wrong.”

She began to rise, wanting to see if she could even stand. Every movement was painful, a clear reminder of what she had endured. “Can I at least,” she began, her arms folding to cover her chest, “go somewhere to get cleaned up? All this..blood,” she said looking down her knees. The skin was broken in several places, and blood painted down her legs, only partially covering the bruises that had already formed. Her arms were decorated with them as well. From her head, down to her chin was a trail of dried blood as well. The dirt on her face cleared away by the tears she had cried. “And my clothes, Jakob,” she asked, reaching for them with one hand. “I’ll put them back on after I’m cleaned up.”

"Thank you Tessa, it's really good to have that off of my conscience." He admits while rubbing the back of his head with his free hand. "I can get you cleaned off.. There aren't any showers or bathing areas for this cell block, so I'm going to have to get a bucket of water and some soap, if that's alright." He says to her while grabbing her clothes for her, handing them to her. "You can get dressed once you're done bathing, I'll be right back." He promises while grabbing his rifle, stepping out of the cell and allowing the door to close before heading across the hall to the supply closet there.

He finds a bucket and fills it with water, also finding a bottle of old soap that would have to do for now, he also finds a ripped up towel and a small cloth that he would use to clean her. He walks out with the supplies and back into her cell before placing the supplies down. "I'm going to have to touch you for this, just stay calm." He says while grabbing the soap, putting some on his hands before starting to lather it on to her body, applying it more so to places that were especially dirty.

When he is done with the soap, he takes the water and dumps it on her head, all of the soap washes off and leaves her semi-clean, as soap and a bucket of water cant exactly be perfect. "All clean.. Here's a towel." He says while handing it to her, though he doesn't exactly want her to cover up, he knows it's in her best interests.

[Arriving from Cell Block B]

Candice had toured Cell Block A and B’s in the last half hour, but she hadn’t found anything out of place. Block A seemed to be running smoothly, and Block B was as it always was, teeming with patients and well stocked with guards and nurses running around. But Cell Block C had a very different, very darker feel to it. Unlike the pristine white floors of the other two cell’s, or the glass walls for each cage, the hall down here was darker and dingier, and the walls were all cement with steel doors built in, little video panels beside each one with various controls. Candice stepped up to the first one and looked in to see a man sitting staring at a wall. Solitary confinement. Where the worst or the craziest lived.

Two guards were on duty in the hall, marching back and forth with their guns ready, having an easy conversation until Candice arrived. Both fell silent then, just pacing the halls without so much as a word. She continued on, looking into a cell here and there as she passed, seeing the conditions each lived in. There was a pause in her step though only a few doors into Block C as she caught sight of a glass pane with cracks in it, something odd to be seeing, and more so dangerous if left unfixed.

Stepping forward she looked inside, and her heart sunk a little. How long had it been? 5, 7, 10 years now? And yet Candice would never forget that face. How could she? She looked so much…no don’t think about it.

Pity ran through her for a second, that she was still stuck in such a tiny cell. Why was that? She was in Cell Block B last year. What did she do to be demoted again? Why can’t she just behave?

She turned on the monitor with her key card and typed in a couple buttons that turned on the microphone on the camera inside, letting her voice be heard within the room. She wasn’t silly enough to step inside, unsure if Kaige would remember her or not.

“Good morning Kaige,” her voice rang clear into the room as she stepped back up to the door to look inside the cracked glass panel, the microphone strong enough to pick up her voice clearly from even a foot away.

“Did someone have a tantrum?” she tapped the glass with one of her knuckles, looking in with a raised eyebrow.

Kaige had given up someone opening her door. It was useless to have hope in this place. Hope for a door being opened. Hope for better food. Hope for food. It was all useless, much like the doctors. She had seen Garner taken from a cell, dragged down the hall by a couple of guards. It was impossible not to smile at the sight. “Bout fucking time. Now you know how we feel you sorry horse’s ass.”

For all the joy she felt, Kaige was exhausted now though. The control panel on the inside now had the mold of her fingers formed into it where she had tried to burn it from the wall in an attempt to open the door. In all the years she had been here, she had tried several attempts to escape the various cells they had her in. This one had proven to be most efficient at keeping her inside. The cracked glass though assured her of one undeniable truth. Everything had a weak spot, and if nothing else this place had taught Kaige that a weak spot is something to be exploited.

She had made her way to the far wall opposite the door and slid down. Yet another thing this had place had taught her, never have your back to the door. When the voice sounded in the room, she lifted her head and gazed into the camera. “What can I say? The steak they brought me wasn’t up to standards. You really should have words with your cook here. I can cook better than that. Let me out, and I’ll show you. My mom taug…..” She looked away from the camera, a strange smile on her face for a brief moment before she suppressed it. “It’s not fair really. You know my name, and I don’t know anything about you. Well that’s not entirely true. I know you have a smooth voice, and I know you’re scared as hell of me. How do I know that? In all my years here the only people who wouldn’t set foot in this cage with me were….scared as hell of me, though I can’t imagine why. You people here haven’t given me any reasons to lash out now, have you?” Though her face was transmitted to a screen outside the cell, the fire could be seen in her eyes. Kaige wasn’t one to hide her feelings most of the time, and it was no secret how she felt about this place. “Either open the fucking door and come in and talk to me, say something of value, or get the hell away from my cell, and stop wasting my time. Time is all I got here, and I’ll be damn if I want to waste on some faceless, chicken shit scared voice.”

Tessa was disappointed she couldn’t go to a shower, but washing off with little soap and water was something she was actually use to doing. More than once she had awoken in a strange place and had to clean herself up in some bathroom before making a quick exit. All part of what she had to deal with.

He returned and started to clean her sore, bruised body. Tessa winced and groaned softly as his hands rubbed the soap over her skin. The colors of the beating she had taken seemed to come to life, more vivid as the blood was washed from her. The water rinsed her off, sending soap, blood, and dirt cascading down her legs and to the floor. “Thank you,” she whispered, shivering. Clearly she was cold. Her arms were decorated with goosebumps, and her nipples were hard and erect. As she crossed her arms over her chest trying to get warm, he hands her the towel. “Thank you,” she tells him again, taking it from him, and starting to dry her body. While it took the water from her skin, it did little to warm her. So discarding on the floor, she quickly picked up her clothes once more and began to dress. Tessa didn’t look at her body. It was a sight she didn’t want to see. “Okay Jakob. Now tell me. What exactly is going to happen to me here? Don’t leave anything out. You work here. So I know you know. Please. Tell me.”

Candice knew better than to take that bait. If Kaige recognized her the girl was likely to go into a rage. Was it not Candice that had tipped her fellow board member of where to find Kaige? Not that this child would know or understand that, but nevertheless her hate still ran deep from the sound of her voice. Candice moved closer, staring through the glass panel so she could see her. My had she grown up. She was quite the beauty, if she wasn't covered in her own filth. She could have made more of herself than this. But she won't let that damn anger go. Insolent child.

"Your mother taught you to cook," it wasn't a question but a statement, finishing her words for her, wondering when the girl would realize Candice was at the door, looking in, "I remember. You loved to bake cookies with her on weekends, and you always licked the icing bowls clean when she made cake for a party."

If Kaige hadn't clued in yet, boy was she about to clue in now. Its about time I revealed myself to the girl. Maybe it will kick her into behaving a tad more. Maybe.

"You used to smile more..."she muttered, looking in at her face, "it's a shame you forgot yourself."

Kaige jerked her attention from the camera to the glass. She was there, looking in at her, like she was animal to be viewed. Standing she never took her eyes from the woman. There was still anger present in her eyes as she took the steps to cross the room over to her. “So the voice has a face,” she calmly stated. “So you made a few assumptions. Big deal. Anybody could have guessed that. What do mothers normally teach their children? How to cook? Sew? Oh but you see my mother taught me something special, something not all mothers teach,” she told her, her expression one of excitement. “Wanna know? I’ll share it with you. She taught me how to leave. Unlock the fucking door, and I’ll show you. My mom taught me how to fucking walk away from everything.”

She turned her back to the woman, shaking her head, trying to push the images from her mind. She saw herself as a little girl, standing in a chair next to her mother, helping her by mixing the cookie dough. ‘Sing mommy. Please.’ The woman gazed down her, smiling. Her mother had such an amazing smile. Her eyes lit up when she smiled. Her father always said her eyes lit up too when she smiled. ‘They hung a sign up in our town,’ her mother began to sing. The words were so clear in her ears. She could smell the cookies baking. Kaige picked up one of the cookies that hadn’t gone into the oven yet. ‘Look mommy,’ she said taking her hand and placing the cookie in it. ‘I can cook it!’ Before she could stop her, Kaige heated the cookie ball in her hand, burning her mother’s hand. ‘Kaige,’ she screamed dropping it. She ran over to the sink and started the cold water trying to cool her burned hand. ‘I’m sorry mommy,’ she had cried. ‘I’m sorry.’ Her mother hugged her, water dripping from her hand. ‘It’s okay baby. It was an accident. Shhhh. Sing with mommy baby. You gotta hold on, hold on, baby gotta hold on.’ The image was far too vivid for Kaige. “Take my hand. I’m standing right here,” she said softly. Slowly she turned back to the lady. “Who are you, and what do you want with me? You said I forgot myself. No. That’s where you’re wrong. I didn’t forget myself. My parents forgot me. So you tell me who the FUCK you are right now," she screamed, her fist smashing into the glass.
