Change The World

Stunned, she couldn't help but stare at him. He was giving up his dream of being a full demon to keep the well open? She didn't know what to say. "Inuyasha...?" She whispered, her hands moving to his cheeks, stroking his skin with her thumbs. "Even though I dont want you to be anfull demon, you can't give up something you wanted for so long just to make me happy." She pulled her face away a bit to look at him better. "If you're happy, then I'm happy."

"Keh." he said as he crossed his arms in front of his chest. He needed to make it seem like he didn't care! "What do I care about being a full demon anymore? I'm the strongest son of a bitch in the world right now. I can kill Shesshomaru and Naraku if I wanted to, and even then I don't really care what people think about me anymore." he said with a huff. "Well..I mean...YOU like me as a half demon, and that's really all I care about..."

She smirked at his cockiness and shook her head slightly. Leave it to him to show off in a tree. "Well," she crossed her arms in a similar way he did, teasing him in a mocking sort of way. "If that's the way you want it, then fine. It's your choice. Your wish." Her arms started loosening and she blinked her eyes, softening her gaze.

'Sides." he said as he turned his attention back to her. "Even I'm not so cruel as to completely take you away from your own lfie. It's only fair to both of us if you still have the chance to see both them and me, after all." he said, giving her an affirming nod of his head.

Her soft smile widened and she threw herself into his arms, her own wrapping around his torso. "Thank you, Inuyasha! You're the best!" She couldn't explain how happy she was at this moment. Her cheeks were a light pink due to her happiness and her smile was so wide it almost hurt. Her face nuzzled into his neck while her legs entangled with his.

His cheeks lit up as well, surprisingly. They'd done worse than this! They were practically married now! So he just wrapped his arms around her waist and rolled his eyes. "You humans get so excited over such weird things...' he said, "But, long as you're happy I guess..."

Maybe when you're human you didn't have as much time to life as a demon. So it was easier to appreciate the little things. She was happy. Truely happy at this moment in time. Her head lingered in the crook of his neck a few more moments until she moved her head so her forehead was against his again. "I wonder what my mom would say..."

"Well, I think your mom would be happy, personally...' He said, thinking about the reactions. "Your little brother I think would be ecstatic and I think your grandfather would try and exercise the hold I have over your head with my demon magic, or something crazy he keeps saying." he said with a laugh.

She thought about it for a moment. But she realized that he was more than likely right. Sours would love to have Inuyasha as a brother in law. And her mother already liked Inuyasha. The only one who secretly wouldn't be happy would be poor Buyo. And that was because Inuyasha picked on him all the time. And probably Sesshomaru. He couldn't care less. She yawned softly. "Yeah. Probably." She blinked her eyes at him a few times.

He smirked a little when she yawned and blinked her eyes. He kissed her softly on the forehead, one of his claws making it's way into her hair. "Go to sleep, Kagome." he said. "It's been a busy day...we can talk more in the morning if you want..."

"Mmm," she whined, her head tilting into his hand in her hair. "I don't want to sleep. I'm afraid that this is still a dream. That I'm going to wake up...." She murmured and looked into his eyes. "Or when I wake up, you suddenly change your mind about this whole thing." Her sad eyes looked into his. She looked similar to a begging puppy but with a slightly pouty lip.

"Not a dream, and I'm not going to change my mind when you wake up." he said softly to her, his claws gently scratching at her scalp slowly. "I love you, and I don't think I could ever change my mind or regret making you my mate." To prove his point, he moved forward and pressed his lips to hers. "Now get some sleep, I'm not gonna have you tired and falling asleep on me all day tomorrow."

Admitting defeat rather easily, she sighed. "Okay." She said softly and wrapped her arms around him a little tighter, making sure she felt secure. She didn't want to fall from the tree. Her head rested against his chest and just like the night before, she cleared her mind and listened to the steady sound of his heart beat to make her fall asleep.

He felt he could go to sleep as well. His eyes closed and he pulled her even closer to his form, his breathing slowing and his head doing the same. He kept a firm grip on his kimono wrapped around her, to make sure she didn't fall from the tree in the middle of the night. To show his own exhaustion, he yawned a little bit, bringing one leg up. "Night, 'Gome...' he mumbled, barely awake at this point.

"Love you..." Before the sleep caught up with him.

When dawn broke the horizon and oranges, grey-blues and the deep pinks of the morning sun's rays, Kagome decided that it was more comfortable to be in Inuyasha's arms than to wake up. The tweeting sounds of birds and the ruffle of the leaves became a calming sound to her. Buzzing her face into his neck, she inhaled his scent and slowly started to drift back off to sleep. Even after all this time waking up in the early morning, she still hadn't become a morning person. Normally she tried to sleep in as long and as much as she could. But Inuyasha always liked to be on the move and Shippo loved waking up early. So it was rather hard.

When she shifted and moved in his arms he began to wake himself, his eyes flickering to life as the new morning light hit the two of them. Ears and eyelids twitching, he was slowly forced awake completely, yawning loudly as the new day dawned for the entire group. His attention was brought to her, still in his arms. She looked so content, so comfortable there he couldn't wake her up just yet. She deserved to at least get a little extra rest. Besides, another hour or so wouldn't be that bad. They'd just really need to walk non-stop all day. For now, just let her relax a little while long.

His eyes closed and he buried his own face in her neck, inhaling her scent and simply holding her.

Kagome muttered some random murmurs in her sleep. Not used to having someone nuzzle into her own neck. Consciously knowing it was Inuyasha, she kept her eyes closed while she stayed in his arms and her face buried into his neck. She didn't want to wake up yet. Even though her mind was telling her to. With a light sigh, she peeped her eyes open to see his slightly tan skin. The tender flesh of his neck. Might as well say good morning. Her hands found their way into his hair, feeling the strands between her slender fingers for the uptenth time. Moving her head up slightly, her full lips buried against the skin of his jaw.

"Mm." He mumbled when he felt the delicate lips press up against his neck, his eyes opening again and looked over to her, chuckling a little bit. "Morning to you too.' he said to her, nuzzling gently against her head affectionately.

She smirked, pressing her head against his while her teeth delicately nipped at his jaw a moment. "Good morning." Moving her body up a bit by straightening her back, she opened her eyes more to fully look at him. Her legs were a bit stiff from the way she was sitting in the tree but she didn't mind it for now. She might pay for it later but for now she wouldn't think about it. "How are you feeling?" Kagome pulled away a bit, her body a few inches against his.

"Relaxed.' he gruned as he picked himself up a little bit and cracked his back. That was the only bad thing about sleeping up in the trees, the knots in your back were almost insanely painful. Nothing he couldn't get through though. "Rested, I guess. You?" he asked.

She yawned and blinked her eyes to get the sleep out of them. "I feel good." She stretched her back and arms, making sure that she wasn't going to fall off the tree. Sleeping in their position didn't do very good on her back or legs. But once she took a bath in the hot springs she'd fell better. Her arms snuck back around him and she smiled a lazy sleepy smile.

A small smile crossed his lips in return as she smiled at him. "Heh." he chuckled a little bit as his arms wrapped around her waist in return. "I know you're not used to this whole sleeping with me thing, but thanks anyway." He said, kissing her forehead softly. "Was really nice."

Kagome smiled softly and closed her eyes when he kissed her forehead. "You're welcome. Either way, I love being with you." Her head moved under his chin and the side of her head leaned against his collar bone and neck. "When Miroku and Sango wake up, we should ask if they've heard anything about a jewel shard anywhere," she said sleepily.

"Here's hoping." he said with a nod of his head. "It's been a damn dry spoell for ages." he grumbled, "I bet you anything Naraku has been getting off his ass and looking for them just as much as us."

She let out a small sigh. It was more than likely true. She thanked whatever Kami that he wasn't able to 'sense' the Jewel Shards like she was. Or else they'd be royally screwed. Even though she hated all the walking, she did know that it was her fault that the Shikon was broken in the first place. Kagome licked her dry lips and pressed against him. "Hopefully he hasn't gotten too far..."
