Change The World

Hearing his voice, she silently thanked the Kami's that he heard her. Turning around, she looked at the snake demon flailing around on the ground. When Inuyasha swiped at it's face, it caused it no only pain but it be blind in one eye. "You bitchhhh." It hissed, and moved up, glaring at Kagome and Inuyasha. "You will pay for thattt half breeed." It instantly lunged for Inuyasha causing Kagome to cry out his name.

"Yeah, well I'd like to see you try!" he shouted as he leapt up at it, his claws once more bared with a smirk on his face. It'd been a while since he had a fight with something, even something as weak as this snake demon. " Iron Reason Soul Stealer!" he shouted at the demon and swiped his claws, whicih now led arcs of light as he aimed at the creature neck.

Kagome stood back as Inuyasha's attack pretty much left pieces of snake demon everywhere. Ew, she thought. Snake kabobs. Realizing that this was pretty much her fault, she looked down and swiped at the thin line of blood on her cheek from being hit with a branch. It stung, but it wasn't unbearable. She was still mad at him. But thankful that he had heard her and came after her.

Inuyasha, on the other hand, was a little mad for his own reasons. "What the hell do you think you're doing out here?" he shouted to her as he turned around, his arms crossing in front of his chest. "You know how dangerous the words are at this time of night you decide to come through anyway?"

Her eyes closed tightly, her feelings a little hurt from being yelled at. But she opened them slowly, looking at him. "I didn't go far!" She wasn't thinking when she went out alone. She was upset and she didn't care where she stormed off to at the time. The events of last night and all of today came down on her and her eyes filled with tears. Her breath hitched and she started shaking. "I'm sorry, Inuyasha. I don't mean to be such a pain.."

...Dammit.

The next thing she knew, he had once again made his way over to her and wrapped his arms around her slowly, pulling her close and taking a deep breath. A combination of relief she was okay and to keep her calm. "Kagome, don't cry." he said to her. "I was just worried is all, if I hadn't come out to find you, that thing could have killed you." he said softly.

Her arms wrapped around him and she buried her face into his shoulder. Hit tears streaming down her cheeks and into his shirt. Kagome held him tightly against her, afraid he'd push her away or leave her. "I know," she whispered. He was right. She could be dead. "Inuyasha, I'm sorry I was so mad earlier." Her breath hitched again and she tried to rid the knot that was forming in the back of her throat to keep her from crying. "I just wish you would told me about it first..."

"I was worried about what you would have thought." he said honestly to her, "I mean it's a life changing thing, mating and marking, and I was afraid you would have hated me if I told you what I'd done without your permission. I told Miroku and Sango began well, I guess I needed to tell someone." he pulled her a little closer. "I was afraid because I don't think I could handle you hating me." he said.

"Inuyasha," her eyes rimmed with tears again. "I could never ever hate you. Not even for something like that.." Her eyes closed and she stood there in his embrace, feeling protected and secure. She realized that she would never feel like this in the arms of any other man. She couldn't love someone more than she loved him and he had to feel the same way. Atleast the slight ache on the side of her neck proved that. "I-I love you." Her hands clutched at the fire rat fabric at his back.

He gripped her shirt a little out of surprise, looking down at her. Had he heard right? He had to have, but it was still a shock to hear her say it. Everything seemed to slow down for a moment as he just held her, trying to think of what she had just say. "Y-You love me?" He asked her quietly, innocently. Holding her so she wouldn't get away if she took it the wrong way. She always seemed to. He didn't want her escaping, he needed to hear this.

Was he joking? He didn't realize it before now? Ugh, men. Nodding into his shoulder, she turned her head, her forehead against his neck, where she could see the slight bite mark she made on him last night. "Yeah. I love you, Inuyasha. I love you for you. For who you are.." Kagome whispered against his skin. The cool Spring night air hit her and yet she still felt warm with his arms around her. Atleast it was out on the table now. She could never tell him before. Afraid he would deny her because of Kikyo. Afraid of the look in his eyes when he rejected her..

He wasn't good with his words,a nd he wasn't good with emotions. Emotions made him seem weak. He always thought that stuff like love and compassion and other shit would just make someone who WAS strong weak. Maybe that wasn't the case. His father had loved her mother, at least from the stories that she told, and he was the strongest demon he knew. Maybe these emotions weren't do bad after all. Well, most of them were annoying, but maybe love wasn't one of them, wasn't one he could keep denying. She loved him. For him, for who he was. So he clutched her a little closer, trying to force himself how he felt for her.

"I..." he said. "I love you too, Kagome...'

There. Wasn't so hard.

Kagome's eyes shifted open and she removed her head from his neck to look at him. She heard him right, and she was shocked to hear it. Her heart swelled with joy and her eyes filled with tears of happiness. It had been so long since she waited for the chance to hear it. And now that she did, she couldn't help but smile, even through her happy tears. "I'm so glad." Her voice wasn't even above a whisper but with his hearing, she knew he could hear her loud and clear.

He smiled down at her in return, nodding his head in agreement at the fact she was glad. He was glad too. Glad this was happening. This was like a damn dream, hearing that the girl he cared so much for loved him back. That took quite a considerable amount of the guilt he felt for marking her, but the guilt was still there for other reasons. Reasons that could be probably be touched upon in the far far future. Either way, he leaned down and pulled her into another soft kiss, this one far more loving and affectionate./

She felt better knowing she let him know how she felt. It took a lot for her to say it. Not because she didn't like emotions, she showed them every minute of everyday. But because she didn't want to ruin anything they had because of her saying it. She felt like she was ruining their friendship. When his pulled her into a kiss, her heart skipped a beat at the tenderness and affection he put into it. Slowly her brown eyes closed and she kissed him back with just as much passion and affection.

With their true feelings out in the open, the kiss felt a lot more secure, a lot closer and a lot deeper in a sense. He didn't know what brought him to make the first move, but he was glad he did. It would have been a more perfect scenario, him holding her and kissing her in the moonlight, had he not been nearly covered in Snake demon blood, and said snake demon in chunks around the two. Eh, take what you could get in this insane world.

Her arms loosely snuck around his neck, her lips pressing more into his. She didn't care if he got blood all over her from their lovely romantic kissing session. He saved her after all, even when he didn't have to. Her body pressed more into his in their kiss, feeling his warmth consume her. Tilting her head to the side, it caused the bite mark on her neck to show and she winced, most forgetting that it was there and her skin slightly stretch making it ache a little.

He pulled away from the kiss after a few more seconds of just locking lips with her, his arms wrapped protectively around her. He looked down at her, his golden orbs staring into her brown ones, a slight blush across his cheeks as it finally seemed to catch up to him what was going on and what had happened just now. He took it all in stride though, before he moved down and gave the mark on her neck a small kiss. He knew it had to have hurt, his teeth WERE razor sharp and all she was was a human after all...."Sorry." He mumbled into her neck. "Know it probably hurts..."

She shivered when he kissed the mark he gave her. Her hands gripped the back of his kimono. She almost went weak kneed. It was odd how one little action could make her swoon. But the mark still ached a bit. She wondered it it would always be there permanently or if he had to continue to reopen it everytime they slept together. "Its alright. It doesn't hurt too bad." She whispered.

He was a little surprise it didn't just heal and scar by now. Then again, it was a pretty nasty bite and she was still only a human. The fact she was human was still a factor, so something as deep as the bite marks probably wouldn't heal for the next few days. He didn't like the fact she would need to be careful for a few days, if it was this painful and annoying. "It'll get better." he said before he gave her neck another soft kiss before he pulled away, "Promise."

He was silent for a moment as they just held each other in the middle of the woods, looking down at her. "So, what are...um...WE...going to do?" he asked, emphasis on the We.

Kagome gazed up into his amber eyes that always seemed to make her melt. She didn't really know what to do. But she was content with whatever it was they were going to do. "Inuyasha," she said softly. "What would happen if I do accept being your mate?" He said it was like being married in human tradition. But it seemed that it was stronger than that. Her mom would probably want them to accept human custom and have a wedding just sonshe felt happy about it. But the whole mating thing...She'd have to ask Sango about it.

Maybe there was a thing they had to do? A ritual of some sort. No idea. She wasn't up to date on demon tradition.

To be honest, he only knew of the basics in which being actual mates would be. "Well, things wouldn't really change between us or the group...' he said, trying his best to sound like he knew what he was talking about. "But when demons mate, they have a closer, almost emotional connection...at least I know I do, I'm not sure about the human...other demons would know you were marked, which should finally show Koga from showing his stupid mangy face around here...' he said, smirking at the reaction he knew that damn wolf would have. "But in a sense, we would be bonded, spiritually. At least I think that's what it's called."

She fought the urge to roll her eyes at his Koga comment. She had no idea what it was between the two. Maybe it was a dog thing. Trying not to snicker, she rubbed his back affectionately. "Oh I see." Kagome shifted her hips a bit, but continued to stay wrapped in his strong arms. "But, what about me being human? I'll eventually die and you'll continue living..." That part saddened her the most. Not because of her dying but because he'd be so lonely..

"Hm." he said, frowning at the thought of him not being with her. He shook his head and gave a little chuckle. "Yeah well, unless you keep running out into the woods without your bow and arrow, I don't think you're going to die any time soon." He said. Cause I won't let you die. he thought possessively to himself.

Her nose scrunched up slightly. Hey, it was one time that she forgot her arrows. Okay..maybe the second. Or was it third? She couldn't remember. But all in all, she was glad to have her hanyou by her side to keep her from dying. Every story needed a damsel in distress right? She hoped so. Her soft eyes looked up into his and she moved to her toes to gently kiss his bottom lip. "Maybe we should get back to the others before they start to worry."
