Change The World

"Wasn't as bad as I thought I was.' he said as he gave her a little half smile in return. "Could have been worse. Only bad things were all the smells I guess." A small shrug. "'Sides, I like being around you Kagome, even if you do have to do really weird things in this time Era..."

She felt the same way too. She loved being around him. Stopping, she turned her head to the left and looked at the old library. Deciding against it, she continued on, dragging him akin with her back to the shrine. Pretty soon she'd have to make multiple decisions. If she indeed wanted tone Inuyasha's mate, the wish on the jewel, where she wanted to stay... Her heart was breaking in her chest though no one knew. Looking down at her feet, she seemed deep in thought. Her hand gripped his a bit more.

He looked down at her, hating seeing her this confused and worried and even a little scared. He turned around to face her and did what only he could do. He wrapped his arms around her body, in a comforting embrace. He wasn't good with spilling emotions and his pep talks were far from subtle, so what more could he do than give her a simple hug to make it seem like everything would be okay? He didn't know what to do either, it kept piling on after complication after complication arose about it.

"It'll be okay." Was all he mumbled.

She wrapped her arms around him, more than comfortable in his warm embrace. Her head nuzLed into his chest, se inhaled the scent she knew so well. He always smelled like dead leaves and forest. And then the musky scent that was specifically him. It was manly and a barable scent. It always calmed her and the ebony haired girl smiled. "I know."

The Kami's always had a weird way of letting everything fall into place. She had to trust them. And have a talk with her mother. She always gave the best advice.

"Good." he said as he held her there for a few more moments, enjoying the closeness he had with her, the calmness of when it was just her and him. Sure that would break the second they went back to the other era, what with the demon attacks, the inevitable encounter and fight wit Koga, more of the jewel shards and more life threatening situations...well, in retrospect, it wasn't bad.

So to finish it off, he leaned down and kissed her on top of her head, taking the moment to inhale her own aroma before he pulled away. "Let's go." he said.

She nodded and reluctantly she pulled away from his embrace to journey up the long stair case. Why there were so many, she had no idea. She hated them damn stairs. But it was exercise nonetheless. Kami knows she had enough of that in Feudal Era. Starting in a normal pace, she waited for him to catch up to her. She wondered what Koga would think of the bite mark. Maybe then he'd leave her alone...

Considering the stairs were so immense, and Kagome was, well, a human, he decided to cut out the middle man and, after catching up with her finally, just picked her up bridal style. "Faster this way." He explained to her. Of course that wasn't the reason. Well, not the entire reason.

She 'eeped' when she was picked up by Inuyasha. Almost dropping the bags, she clutched them tightly making sure not to drop them. Her cheeks lit up in a light pink blush. Her head moved to lean against his shoulder knowing that he wasn't going to drop her. Her head moved and she looked behind him to the stairs under his feet. Atleast he didn't get tired easily. Her head moved and she gave him a soft peck on the cheek in a silent thank you.

He hummed in response to the kiss on his cheek as they finally approached the shrine and looked down the stairs at the well that resided at the bottom. Still refusing to let her go he jumped down the well, letting both of them be washed over by the bright light before touching ground back in the feudal era.

"There we go." he grunted as he pushed off the ground and jumped out of the well, setting her back down on the ground.

Glad that she left her big yellow bag in Kaede's hut, she put her feet on the ground and breathed in the clean air. She loved this place. The air was clean and in the mornings, it always smelled of morning dew and the plants glistened in the sun. The stars were beautiful as well. In Tokyo, she was lucky to see one or two. But here she could just stare at them all night. It was one of the benefits of beig able to go back to the Warren States Era. Looking at the sun, she took in that it was a little passed lunch time.

Starting to walk toward Edo, she looked back at him with her beautiful, genuine smile. "Come on. I'll make you some ramen when we get to the hut."

He gave her that smile in return and nodded, following. "Sounds good to me." he said with a shrug of his shoulders. The two of them entered Kaede's hut, and was quickly welcomed by their friends.

"Ah, Lady Kagome, you've returned." Miroku said. Shippo took this time to find his way back atop her shoulders. "I trust your time spent with your family was well?"

Kagome smiled and set the bags down next to her bag, picking Shippo up, she held him in her arms. "Yes, thank you. It was quite relaxing." She smiled and looked around. "Where's Kaede?" She asked and then Sango spoke up. "There was an emergency at the other side of the village. A woman's about to have her first baby. So she went to help deliver." Kagome nodded. "Okay, then I'll make some ramen for lunch."

"That sounds wonderful." Miroku said with a nod of his head, before he shot a quick glance at Inuyasha, as if asking a question. All he did was give him a quick nod, he'd told her about it. Much could be said without saying anything.

Then Shippo spoke up with that innocent smile. "So Kagome, I hear Inuyasha and you mated. Whatever that means."

Inuyasha blinked in surprise, looking over at Shippo. How the hell did he know...as if he had to ask. He shot a glare at Miroku, who looked innocently off to the side.

Kagome, startled at what Shippo just asked, looked down at him. With a small sigh, she held him with one arm and bent down to look through the bags. Finding a box of Pocky, she dangled it infront of the fox kit. "Here you go, Shippo." She said happily, handing him the box before putting him down. "Why doing you go outside with Kirara and play with the new toy I got her?" Digging back I. The bag, she opened a small package with a pink ball with a bell inside. At the sound, the neko demon's ears perked up and she gave the ball to Shippo.

Through her bangs, she looked up at their monk companion, an evil glare in her eyes.

Miroku gave a very audible gulp at the glare his two friends were giving him. "N-Now, to be fair on my part, he had all ready smelled Kagome on Inuyasha when he arrived the first time, I was merely validating-"

"You fucking idiot!" Inuyasha shouted, slamming his fist onto the top of his head. "I told you not to tell anyone and what do you do? You tell the KID!" he growled a little as Miroku winced, gently rubbing the bruise on the top of his head. "Feh, shows how much I can trust with you."

Kagome didn't have to hit Miroku. Inuyasha already did that for her. Sango sighed and shook her head. "He'll never learn..." she mumbled, already putting the boiling water on over the fire for the ramen. It was then Kagome realized that Inuyasha had told Miroku and Sango abou it before she knew. "You mean you told them about the situation before you told me!?" She growled at the hanyou, her arms crossed over her chest and her lips pursed angrily. Her foot was tapping against the wooden floor under her and her eyes seemed on fire.

Ah shit.

He turned to her and flinched, seeing the rage in her eyes. All Miroku could do was look down at his lap with a smug smirk on his face. "L-Look, Kagome, it wasn't anything personal but I needed to tell someone! I-I mean, I didn't know how you were going to react and..."

"He's digging himself deeper." Miroku mumbled VERY lightly under his breath.

React? "React? I was going to react like this! You should of told me first! This is a serious thing, Inuyasha. I can't believe you told Miroku before you told me." Letting out a long, irritated sigh and let her arms drop to her sides, her hands balled in fists. "Sit! Sit sit sit sit sit!" She put strain on the last one before she stomped out of the hut.

Sango looked up at the situation. With a small smile, she held up the hot water. "So," she looked at the familiar display of bumps and bruises and a furiated Kagome leave. "Who's hungry?"

"Ergh..." Was Inuyasha's reply, his body currently buried a few inches into the hut's floor, his body twitching as he simply lay there, in defeat.

"Ah, that's what happens when you don't tell the girl you love the important things, my friend." Miroku said, looking over at the hole in the floor in the shape of his friend. "I'm afraid you have no one to blame for this but yourself."

He finally pried himself from the ground, spitting out a mouthful of dirt and sat up, growling a little bit. "Crazy wench..."

Sango sighed and shook her head. "Inuyasha," she said, putting the hot water pot on a towel on the wooden floor next to her. "Kagome wants you to trust her. What you did affects you both and it is kind of a big deal. You bit her without telling her what it really meant and worst of all you told us about it before you told her." She put her hands in her lap, glancing up at Miroku a moment before looking at Inuyasha. "She's upset because of that."

Kagome was so upset, she didn't care what direction she went. The last thing she remembered was making an Inuyasha sized crater in Kaede's hut and now she was walking around Inuyasha's forest. And she was sort of....lost. She'd be found eventually. If she really wanted to get back, she'd climb a tree and look for smoke coming from the huts. She didn't get those survival guide and books for nothing. Sighing, she found a huge tree and sat on one of it's lower branches. Her eyes closed and she leaned her head back against the bark. "Stupid Inuyasha. Such a jerk."

"She's right, Inuyasha. In honesty you should have told Lady Kagome before you told us. Kagome cares for you deeply, she would have taken it better than you give her credit for." He nodded. "She's not Kikyo after all."

Inuyasha glared at him again at the mention of Kikyo but knew he was right. She did care about him and she wouldn't have done anything to make him feel uncomfortable, well, anymore than they both were right now. He said nothing at the moment before he stood up. "I'm going to go look for her. Knowing her she'll probably attract SOME attention." he said before he walked out of the hut.

Miroku sighed. "He truly is an idiot sometimes." he said to sango.

Sango sighed and grabbed the pot of hot water, pouring some of it into the ramen cups for herself, Miroku and Shippo. The fox demon couldn't be too far and the smell would attract him soon. Looking up at the monk, she handed him the steaming cup. "Being with you bunch, I have realized that most men are.." She mumbled, taking a bit of her futuristic food.

There was a rustling in the bushes and Kagome's eyes slowly opened. Maybe it was Inuyasha. But it wasn't. A medium sized snake demon slithered out from between the trees. It's scales were about as large as her hands and were an emerald color. It's under belly was a light green while it's eyes were orange with a purple tongue. It's tongue slithered out of it's mouth and it looked straight at her. Jumping up, she thought about what would be the smartest thing to do. It sensed the jewel shards she had around her neck. "Givvvvvve me the ssssshhardssss girl!" Deciding it would be best to run, she jumped from the tree and started away from the demon. Hearing branches break, she knew it took off after her.

"I should be more offended by that, but there are times when I must agree with you." he said with a laugh as he ignored the fact she was talking of him as well. "We men can be quite foolish."

Her scent seemed to go into the woods, which was a bad thing, considering the time of night. He frowned a little bit, wondering if for a fleeting moment she wanted even see him. That opinion quickly changed when his eyes widened, sensing some form of demon energy coming from the direction of her scent. Kagome! . With that, he quickly made a dash for her.

She ran through branches, trying to miss as many as she could. But some ended up slapping her and cutting her cheek. It was catching up to her and it didn't help that she had no idea where she was running. "Inuyasha!!" She cried out, looking behind her as the demon aimed for her ankle, picking up her pace before it could, she cursed herself for not talking her bow and arrows with her. She hated having to rely on Inuyasha to save her all the time. She felt suddenly weak and helpless.

"Kagome!" Inuyasha's voice suddenly shouted through the darkness as he dashed through a thick cluster of trees, his claws gleaming in the light and swiped at the snake demon's face, kicking it away from her as he panted, having had to really book it to get here. "Are you okay Kagome?" he asked her quickly, not taking his eyes off the creature.
