Change The World

She was thinking the same thing. Moving back beside Miroku and Sango, she watched as Koga angrily attacked Inuyasha. She didn't know what to do. Saying 'sit' wasn't going to help and neither would screaming or firing an arrow. But she couldn't just stand there and let them both get hurt because of her. And how could Koga think Inuyasha actually raped her?! Bu then again, she heard love is blind.

She looked at Miroku, "How can we stop them?" Sango sighed and shrugged. "Rigt now their animalistic instincts are taken over. Two males fighting over a female. It'll be a stupid thing together into it, especially you Kagome. Neither of them want you hurt." Kagome's eyes softened and she looked down at her feet. She didn't want them fighting, it worried her and saddened her. Inuyasha may be strong and have his father's sword, but Koga had three jewel shards and he was fast.

Indeed, the fight was brutal in both regards. While INuyasha swung and cleaved through the air in an attempt to hit the damned wolf bastard who dared assumed he's hurt Kagome like that, Koga was nearly impossible to hit. He could dodge every blow and hit him in return. He seemed far more brutal this time around, perhaps it was because of the blind hatred and anger he had for the half demon right now.

"This does not look good." Miroku said. "We have to intervene, Koga is ready to kill Inuyasha rigth now if we don't-"

"No, you, DON'T!" Inuyasha shouted as he swung his sword at Koga, driving him away for the moment. "This is my fight, don't get involved!"

Sango and Kagome sighed. They knew better. Inuyasha never needed help mostly because he wouldn't admit it to himself that people indeed wanted to help him. Stubborn man.. Kagome fiddled with her fingers trying to think of what to do. She could run out and stand infront of Inuyasha, but there was a chance Koga could hit her. And that more than likely would hurt and Inuyasha would be even more pissed off than he is now. And a mad Inu wasn't a good one.

"Inuyasha, Koga!" Kagome called looking up at them from where she was slightly behind Sango. "Stop! Please?!"

Normally, Inuyasha would have told her to mind her own business, but of course his mately instincts of Mate Troubled kicked in, and he found himself lowering his guard. This however was just the opening Koga was looking for. He slammed his foot into Inuyasha's chest and threw him to the ground, digging into the ground enough to make a him-shaped hole. He didn't get another chance as his foot slammed down on the arm holding the sword, pinning it down. He was thankful it didn't break. Koga was breathing heavily, staring down at Inuyasha with hate in his eyes.

"You worthless scum..." he spat. "You dare take her against her will, knowing full well she was MINE? She was your friend and you hurt her!"

"I didn't fucking hurt her, you jackass!" he snapped. "She-Gack..." he gagged as he placed his other foot on his throat, pressing down.

"Any last words before I crush your throat in, you bastard?"

That was all it took for Kagome to run to his side. Sango reached out to grab her but the younger girl was too quick and she missed. "Kagome!" She ignored her calls as she went straight for her lover and the man who would more than likely kill him. "Inuyasha!" She stopped at Koga's side and tried to best to pry him off of Inuyasha. With him stepping on his neck, he wouldn't be able to breathe within a few moments. "Koga, I said stop." There was a plea in her eyes, sadness. She hated when they acted this way. "Please get off of him.."

"Why are you trying to defend this mutt, Kagome?!" he exclaimed in surprise. "He hurt you! The bastard deserves to die!"

"Koga, get off of him before we are forced to use force.' Miroku said as he approached as well. He and Sango had seen enough. To hell with Inuyasha's orders, they couldn't just sit around and watch their friend die.

Kagome shook her head. "It wasn't that way, Koga. I wanted him to. He didn't hurt me and I didn't say no." She was trying to get the wolf demon off Inuyasha as fast as she could. She couldn't stand to see him hurt and she knew Inuyasha would be angry with her for butting in but she couldn't wait and watch this go on any longer. She didnt want to zap Koga with her miko powers and purify him. She barely knew how to. But it happened when Mistress Sentipede tried to touch her. It could happen again.

The pressure on Inuyasha's neck was finally lifted as he managed to pull his foot away. he gulped down a heavy mouthful of air, taking several deep breaths as the sweet air filled his lungs again. "Get off me." Inuyasha mumbled as he pushed him away.

"Kagome, you...' Koga whispered softly in surprise. "You...LET him? but...you're MY woman!"

"Yeah, well." Inuyasha dusted himself off. "She's mine now, Wolf. She's got MY mark, she's MY mate, and she's not YOURS. So you can deal with it."

Kagome gave Inuyasha a stern look before looking up at Koga. Her smile was apologetic and sweet. "I'm really sorry, Koga. But I just don't have those feelings for you like I do with Inuyasha." She didn't want to hug him or hold his hand because that wouldn't help the situation. Ayame was supposed to be with him. She wasn't the one. "I love him."

She searched his eyes, knowing how upset he was about this. She would be too if Kikyo was was in her place and she was in his. "And if you care for me the way you say you do, then be happy for me."

"I...I...' He honestly seemed at a loss for words. HIS woman was attracted to THIS mutt? He was a better demon, stronger, faster, everything! And this mutt, this half breed had bested him in his woman? It was quite a lot to take into consideration. His entire world upside down. Inuyasha meanwhile smirked all the while, arms crossed over and a cocky look in his face. "He's not good enough for you." he snapped to both of them. He'd never be happy for her. She was HIS. HIS property. "He never will be. He's only going to hurt you and when he does, I'll be waiting for you to crawl back to me."

"Why you-" Inuyasha snapped, but figured against it. He wasn't worth it. He won.

Koga glared at him one final time and growled out, "If I ever found out you hurt her, I will kill you, make no mistake about it. in the end, she WILL be mind."

Then, in the blink of an eye, he was rushing down the plains again, the tornado formed around him.

Shippo sighed in relief. "That could have ended a lot worse than it did."

Kagome watched Koga leave, a small sigh of relief leaving her slightly tense body. Shippo was right. It could of been worse. A lot worse. For now Koga wouldn't be around. But it won't be long before he'd come back and check on her. But until then, she'd try her best not to think about it. Sango nodded slightly, agreeing with Shippo. "Yeah," she continued. "Inuyasha could be dead." Her grip on her Hiraikotsu loosened.

Kagome turned around and looked at them. "Are we ready to go?"

"Thought you'd never ask." Inuyasha grunted, his voice a little raspy as he just had a foot up against his adams apple, preparing to crush it under his weight. "Come on, let's keep it going, we all ready wasted enough time dealing with that fucking mutt."

"We?" Miroku asked innocently. "Inuyasha, you are the one who refused to let us help-"

"Shut up, Monk." he grumbled. Shippo giggled.

Kagome shook her head and Sango chose to stay out of it. "The next village sound be half a day's walk away." Sango stated, remembering some of the villages they passed by on their little shard hunts. As they continued, Kagome pulled her bag over her shoulders and walked behind Sango, thinking. Hopefully it wouldn't take too long to get there. If they walked at a good fast pace, they'd there a bit quickly, Miroku can pull the 'a dark cloud is hung over your village' and then they'd be able to sleep comfortably tonight. With good food and hot baths.

The rest of the journey was uneventful to say the least. Inuyasha remained silent and ahead of the group, while the others conversed about their potential ideas involving Naraku and how much strength he's garnered in the time since they've started, how they'd deal with Kagura and Kanna if and when they needed to, if they could enlist the help of Sesshomaru when the time came (Inuyasha's only response was an annoyed ear twitch at the mention of his brothers name).

Eventually, as expected, it was only a half a days walk as they approached the small village in question. Turning to Kagome, the half demon asked, "Can you sense any shards, Kagome?"

Kagome, who had been in deep thought all day, only came to reality when they reached the village. Hearing Inuyasha beside her, she looked at him and then looked around, trying to sense any powerful aura. With a small sigh, she dropped her arms and shook her head. "Not that I know of. I can't feel a single shard in sight."

So right now, the village was at peace. So it seemed that the rabbit demon hadn't been or already was here at one point. Sango looked around holding a napping Shippo in her arms and Kirara on her shoulder. "I don't sense demon's around either." She looked over at Miroku knowing he was conjuring up a plan to stay in the village's main house at this point in time.

And indeed, the con artist monk was doing just that. Under the assumption that the demon rabbit had to come at some point the demon would return, they would be ready for them when it would strike. He told this to the village elder that it would be far safer to assume the demon would return eventually, and rather than wasting time in coming back when they were all ready in Edo, why not simply remain in the village for the remainder of the night? Oh, and he threw in the house was possessed or something, just to seal the deal.

Of course the elder would welcome them, despite being a bit wary around the three demons that followed them around and offered to let them stay the night in the main house. After expressing his gratitude, Miroku gave the go ahead to the others. "It's far too easy sometimes.' He mumbled with a smirk.

Sango rolled her eyes and shook her head. They were pretty much used to his con artist ways to stay the night at a 'hotel', eat some food and flirt with the village maidens. It never failed. Kagome smiled, she'd be able to relax and take a nice bath and stay in a nice place. She was slightly grateful when Miroku found a place to stay. The ground wasn't bad since she had a sleeping bag. But during the colder nights, it wasn't so great.

Kagome turned her head to Inuyasha and smiled. "For now, I guess we have to wait to see if the demon shows up."

"I hate waitin'." he huffed and looked down at the floor. "But I guess if we have to...' he grumbled a little bit.

"Oh come now, Inuyasha, I'm sure you and Lady Kagome could find a good way to spend a few hours without simply sitting around and pouting," Miroku said cheerfully.

WHAM!

"Shut up, monk." Inuyasha grumbled to Miroku, who was now holding the impressive sized lump on his head.

Kagome snickered and she shook her head. At least Miroku helped wih the comic relief. Especially when everything was tense and quiet. She looked up at Inuyasha as he somewhat pouted and Sango slightly yawned. Knowing full well what Miroku looked like after having being hit. Him and his lecherous ways. The teenaged girl reached down and grasped Inuyasha's hand. "Waiting isn't so bad. We'll have some lunch and then let Miroku do his thing. Then we'll go from there."

"I suppose." he said as he gently squeezed her hand in return. "Fine, I guess we can stay for the night. However long it takes I suppose." It did mean a Jewel Shard in the end, so he guessed it would be worth it in the end. Maybe it would mean a quiet night alone with Kagome. Yeah, it wouldn't be that bad. It'd be nice if anything.

Kagome rubbed her thumb against his skin and smiled. She was grateful he agreed to settle down for the night. Sango seemed more tired than usual, so the slayer would probably want to take a quick nap as they waited for any sign of the rabbit demon. Kagome looked around the village, people were starting to stare at the weird group. A monk, a slayer with a demon child and a neko, a girl dressed in weird clothing and a half demon. Not normal at all.

"Hm." Inuyasha grunted under all the stares. "What are you all lookin' at! Mind your own business!"

"Inuyasha, we don't need more enmies you know." Shippo said, barely awake and having been woken by the half demons yells. "Try to act civilized at the least."

"Mm." He grunted. "They're the ones staring." he said. Suddenly, he tugged on Kagome's hand a little bit. "Come on Kagome, let's go somewhere really quick."

Kagome knew he was getting uncomfortable with the stares he was getting. She, not so much. People in her time tended to look and judge others. But in this time, seeing their uncanny group was rare. They were all complete opposites after all. When Inuyasha tugged on her arm, she looked up at him. "Um," she looked at them. "Okay hold on." Slipping off her back pack, she handed it to Sango who put Shippo on the ground since he had just woke up.

"We'll return soon." Kagome assured them. Sango nodded. "We'll keep an eye out for the demon and Miroku's prying hands." She glided her glare over to the monk clad in purple.

"We make no promises on my prying hands I'm afraid," Miroku called out, as indeed, one of his hands found their way onto Sango's ass. He wasn't worried about the inevitable beating.

So once Inuyasha was a fair amount of distance away from them, he nodded. "Good." he said, "I think this is far away enough." he said as he looked over his shoulder. "Swear I'd never get alone time with you with these people."

Sango turned around, slapping him and screaming 'HENTAI'. Slamming Kagome's bag on his head, she stomped up the wooden stairs and into the enterance. One of the many servants went to help her, Kirara and Shippo to their guest rooms. She was steaming and her face was red with embarrassment.

Kagome looked around and smiled. "Its a little hard when we have a perverted monk in the group." She turned to face him and whispered. The small wooded area he led them to was quite pretty and serene. The cherry blossoms were just in bloom so light buds were forming on the trees. "We have alone time now."
