“Maybe if it’s just the two of us, leave the rest of the men on standby outside the estate. But even that might not be enough to keep things calm.” She mused.

“Good thing you’re good at it.” Amaya said. “Do the heavy lifting for him, I’m sure he can appreciate that.”

“I’ve heard conflicting things regarding him and his family- before him his father was a known anti-twilight supporter, you’d think his son would carry on the same values.” She said.

"You would think. But I hear he's really kind to Tags." He said, "Odd, you think the apple would fall short, but turns out it completely abandoned its tree."

“So a sympathizer then, huh?” She asked, sitting down to get more comfortable while they talked. “I think we’ll probably get the same kind of answer from Date as we got from Otani then.”

The meeting with Masamune was postponed a week to allow both Sasuke and Amaya to heal from their wounds. Amaya healed a lot faster than Sasuke, and by the time their week was up, she was ready to go.

"Alright." Sasuke pat himself down to make sure he had everything before they headed off to the Date estate, "Let's see if we can't do some negotiating."

“He doesn’t seem the type to be happy to be offered money either, got anything he might like?” Amaya asked, making sure she was armed with her usual weapons. Her face was still rather bruised, but her gunshot wounds were healed up mostly.

Amaya gave a soft sigh. “Something tells me he won’t be so easily convinced by either of us.”

"Probably not, no." He smiled. When they arrived, Sasuke walked out and toward the gate first, stopping when a bullet barely missed his foot. He stared at the hole before looking up at where the shot came from. Kojurou sat on the roof, a rifle poised at Sasuke as he stared down the sight.

Amaya looked at the bullet hole before up at Sasuke. “There really is something about you that just invites violence.” She teased before glancing at Kojurou up on the roof. “Want me to knock him down from there?”

"Nah, that would be a really bad idea." Sasuke replied before cupping the side of his mouth with his hand, "Hey! Is your master available to speak?" He called. Another shot, another hole near Sasuke’s foot, and he grinned down at Amaya, "I'll take that as a no."

“Seems we’ve gotten our answer without even speaking to the man in charge- so, what do we do?” Amaya asked, staying in her spot lest she get a hole in her foot.

“Masamune.” Megohime stood in his office doorway, a soft scowl on her face. “The same people that attacked the Otani estate are now here- Kojurou’s keeping them at the gate.”

"We keep trying." Sasuke said and took a step forward. Another bullet stopped him and he made a noise.

"We can always rely on him, huh?" Masamune said before he moved to the window, "Wonder if they're here for the same reason they bothered Aki for."

“I don’t know how much he’ll let us- I doubt he’d even let us on the lawn.” Amaya mused.

Megohime made a soft noise. “You could send me out to ask them, but I’m sure their motives are the same, yeah.”

Amaya perked up a bit when she saw a figure approaching, but it wasn’t Masamune. A woman with long black hair came striding up to the gate, a less than friendly look on her face. “Can I help you? You’re trespassing.”

“He’s not. Any other questions or are we done here?” She asked sharply. “We know what your company wants, and my boss isn’t interested.”
