Background:
Marko was born to a french immigrant mother and a serbian immigrant father, both of whom came to the USA to start a new life, chasing the American Dream. Unfortunately, Marko's father turned out to be a lousy, violent drunkard. It was not until Marko was eleven, that his mother and he managed to get away from him, cutting ties as best as they could when he was imprisoned for assault and battery.
They moved in to a new home and Marko's mother remarried to a very strict baptist christian zealot, whose method of education and correction were similar to those of generations past: unwilling to put up with more abuse, Marko managed to lay low for a few more years, before he got through with his SATs and graduated early, testing into Westbrook college at a mere 14 years of age.
Now he attends college, having finished the courses for mathematics and mechanical engineering and getting straight into computer engineering and physics.
Powers:
When the meteorite burst, Marko gained a power that allows him to manipulate the metals found on earth, as long as he can touch them with his bare hands: his fingers have yet undiscovered glands that emit waves and vibrations that result in metals moving and reforming according to his direction and will. He has other such organs over his body, but the ones on his hands and arms are more developed, due to how familiar Marko is with manipulating things that he can work with his hands.
But another consequence of the mysterious meteorite bursting atop the city is the development in the brain of the young engineer: his understanding of physics and all the laws that make up reality has been greatly amplified. So much so that he has ideas for technology that is far more advanced than what humans are currently making.
However, his ideas revolve around conflict and war; defense and offense, armor and weapons like forcefields, impact-dampening exosuits and railguns that can be wielded by a regular soldier to achieve an effect that missiles are already struggling to achieve.
