@MsBloom Not yet, so I'm merely guessing and hoping Su-Ji could clue Ginger in on why her powers wouldn't work on Blair, if it's lead. I've seen magnets stick to steel, which I thought was an alloy of lead and iron?

Considering what some meteors are made of, that's why I think lead would be the best answer for Ginger's powers to not work.

Right. I usually go for arts or literature majors (as that is what I know) or possibly sociology of psychology, but then I just remembered Abby Sciuto from the original NCIS and thought that why the hell not, Su-Ji could be a chemistry major perhaps, but then again ... I started thinking about what her plans for the future would be if she was ... Then again, don't they teach that in high school in the US. I remember learning about non-magnetic metals in 8th or 9th grade. Maybe Ginger just wasn't paying attention?

I'll see what I come up with in my next post perhaps.

High School, (9th grade) is also when one can focus on a preferred science. Geology, Botany, Biology, Zoology, Chemistry, etc. She (like me and other teens) might have wanted to focus on her preferences. She had a rude awakening in college, as to be a physical therapist, she'd need some Chemistry. She's probably relearning all that and it's just not clicking. It'd be interesting, and possibly a path for study sessions and chemistry of their own if Su-Ji asks her how she's doing in Chemistry, after explaining non metallic metals to her.

Ah. Well that's different then from how it was when I was in 9th grade (ages 15-16) over here in Sweden. We studied all the natural sciences for as long as they were mandatory.

So yea, maybe Su-Ji chose to focus on chemistry simply because it was more fun than the options, or maybe she had a crush on the chemistry teacher, who knows.

I can definitely see how they could both be in chemistry for their majors, even if Ginger's taking because mandatory for HER major.

Let's play it by ear for now from the point that Su-Ji knows about non-magnetic metals and explains this to Ginger. I think I still want Su-Ji to be majoring in something like psychology, which might actually require a few courses in chemistry, or at least in pharmaceuticals.

I'm trying to figure how much of a superpower, Detective Holmes's ability to quote the law from memory really is... Or her eidetic memory. She's technically Batgirl/Oracle at this stage, and we almost need a Supergirl to go up against Blair and Alex. Or at the very least, a Captain Marvel/Shazam type.

But Velocity is a speedster, right? Can't she beat both Blair and Alex on her own? Or does she have weaknesses that prevent her from achieving victory?

I've never watched stuff with Doom, Dr. Strange or Dr. Fate. Magic in a superhero does not interest me in the least: I find it lazy and uninspired, especially when it comes to power interactions.

I do like urban fantasy, like the Dresden Files. But that setting is all about how magic mucks up technology and what you (or, rather, Dresden) can do with magic in order to solve crimes committed by someone or something magic.

I definitely wouldn't put Dresden in a superhero setting though, since the clash of tones would be too jarring.

Everyone is just learning what they can and cannot do. Although Erin could end up being the Jim Gordon of the group, working together with their limited knowledge could work... And is their best option at this point. Something Cheshire and Velocity could catch onto (although I do have Windy being a bit dense, as well as typical rebellious teenager at times, so she might be a bit slow at the whole teamwork thing) is what Cardio just did with the news van. Not to give everything away...

Back to the original thought I had: can't Velocity pick up a baseball bat/lead pipe/more than one melee weapon that works as a club and deal enough grievous harm to Blair to get them to stop doing bad stuff?

After all, feeling pain and getting hurt are two different things...

She could... That's a good point. She doesn't like being violent, but may not have a choice.

You do know either of you can move Officer Jenny, right? She's NPC.

Depending on how strong Blaire is, looping a chain around them to stop them would also do the trick. Until someone is able to manufacture handcuffs, manacles or something to restrain and bind someone with enhanced or super strength. (Super being much more powerful than Enhanced)

We'd need my one NPC nerd Zapper for that. He's into nanotech, which is what Velocity's suit would have to stand up better to nearly 50,000 mph speed friction. That's something he could make for Erin.

Right now, Velocity has to watch her speed, anyway. I doubt her mom's racing firesuit can take over 600mph before IT burns up and she's left naked
