Some basic but important information
The breeding protocol was always there as a contingency plan, in case any sort of disastrous event should reduce the human population aboard the colony ship to numbers below expected viable biological diversity through free choice of partner. Even with the colony ship intact and arriving at it's intended destination there was a protocol in place by which each adult man and woman were required to produce at least two children, a third and fourth child giving the parents a financial bonus for each additional child.

The contingency plan however was a little different, firstly in that it required all males and females over the age of 15 to breed at least three children without any promise of a bonus for a fourth or fifth. The children should preferably all be conceived within no more than a year of each other.

Choice of partner for each child was a free choice but also subject to strict regulations:

1. No couple already having produced a child were allowed to produce another until they had filled the mandated quota of at least three more children.

2. If a coupled male and female did not conceive a child within 6 months they were to be assigned new breeding partners.

3. Due to lesser probability of women over forty falling pregnant they were to choose younger males with more viable sperm to breed with and vice versa, younger females with a greater probability of falling pregnant were to choose older males with less viable sperm to breed with.

4. No colonist, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation, were allowed to refuse breeding. Punishment for refusing to breed or secretly using any sort of contraceptive was banishment from the colony or be forced to breed without their consent. This applied to both males and females.
the only contraceptives allowed would be condoms or diaphragms to allow husbands and wives to still enjoy sex without risking pregnancy if they already have a child between them. All other methods such as birth control pills or implants, injections and whatever else of a more permanent nature would be illegal.
  • No one should feel that they need to write non-con to fully enjoy our group.
  • Non-con scenes should be labeled as such in the thread name so those wanting to avoid, not read them have a warning.

Please remember to update the character sheets when adopting a character. It is a site rule.

I have Charles.

Didn't Jason Masters just walk off into the woods and disappear after he and Lea had a bit of fun in that lake or river or whatever it was?

Also. I can do Cara when and if she decides to make an actual appearance. (She lives with the Mercers and perhaps will become the final victim of Lucas, now that the rest of the family have left him. Or maybe he tries to and she kills him.

I believe he did? Or is he just generally hanging around the colony? Either way, he still exists.

*a la Mantis from the end of Endgame* Ooh, yes! Use knives!

But, seriously, pre-disaster, Nate would have come to Lucas' defense in a heartbeat. Now, he'd either hand Cara the gun, or shoot him himself.

Let's see what wee come up with. We are after all talking about two inactive characters. Maybe in the end it can all be done as Journal Entries.

So perhaps I'll dig my fingernails in and rake them across and see what happens.

Really nice post. I do especially like the end of it, the way Ana talks to Capheus about needing his guidance on how best to pleasure him because she has gotten used to Lucas' body and what makes it tick.

One thing I just thought of earlier this evening when we discussed adopted characters is that I don't really find anything about Ana's twins also moving in with the Nyong'o-Robinson family, a simple oversight I am sure.

Unless of course it would make more sense for them to take up residence with the Drake family, now that there will be a cabin suddenly made available as Mia will almost certainly move into Alexander's and Elizabeth's cabin.

Yeah, the Robinson Jupiter might not be the safest environment with Capheus on his superiority kick.

Although, Riley is already something of a recurring item in Capheus bed, sort of a fuck you to Lucas having traded her for Abeba. (It is mentioned in my first post as Capheus in Refugee:

That morning, the first of their second week on the new world, Capheus had already had Khandi, twice and the night before Riley had been over for the third time.

I also think I mention it in my first Journal Entry for Riley that she decided to visit the old man to spite Lucas for having traded her for Abeba.

Perhaps the twins split up and Riley decides to stay close to Capheus, allowing him to be her first breeder, while Teri goes to live with the Drakes where she will at least be safe from Capheus. Maybe in the end this creates the first real issue between them.

He knew full well he didn't measure up to his father-in-law's vision of manhood. Despite their mutual love and admiration, Charles knew that if Khandi's first husband had lived, she would never have given him a second thought. If Capheus made his thoughts more well known than Khandi, there was always something that made him feel inferior to a memory that he could never surpass. Capheus was the embodiment of that feeling.

Nice touch indeed to hint at Charles not only feeling that Capheus considered him inferiour but also that Khandi has the same feeling, whether she would admit it or not. I especially like: " ... that made him feel inferior to a memory ..."

I'll try to have something up for this by the end of the weekend, hopefully.

So ... @LeaT and myself might be resuscitating a thread from the old NextGen version of LiS because it is one that we both feel we want to explore further. Neither of us want this to be seen as a reflection on the on going reboot version or its progress. It is simply an old itch we need to scratch.
