Thousand-year Curse (1x1 w/DarkMudkip)

Megohime finally couldn’t stand any longer, sinking to her knees with a cry, a few red spots appearing on her clothes as her wounds bled.

Megohime’s lip trembled and she shook her head slowly, tears leaking through the gauze. She tried to tell him she was sorry, tried to apologize, but all that came out was garbled speak with her missing tongue.

She was so relieved that he wasn’t angry, that he wasn’t berating her, or calling her useless, and even though it hurt to be held, it was nice.

Megohime let out a soft whimper, nodding her head to answer Masamune in the only was she could now.

She smiled, reaching a hand up to try and touch his face, wanting to at least caress his cheek if she couldn’t tell him how happy his words made her.

Megohime let out a soft sob, nodding again- it was the first gentle touch in days that hadn’t been to clean her wounds to keep her alive for more interrogation.

He kissed her head gently, trying not to be repulsed by her. He needed this to work, after all. Before Mitsunari could react, Masamune took a dagger from a sheath tied to the back of his belt and drive it deel into Megohime's back.

Megohime felt like she had been punched hard in the back, jolting from the stab and letting out a weak noise. She didn’t know what had just happened, a deep pain shooting through her back and deep into her chest, knocking the wind from her lungs.

"Wh...What...?" Mitsunari looked taken aback, eyes wide.
"How dare you end her life like that." Masamune said, voice tight as he held Mitsunari's gaze. He had a feeling it would end in the result he wanted, but he had to make Megohime believe that her death was Mitsunari's doing.

Megohime choked on the blood that gurgled up her throat, feeling blood dripping steadily from the wound in her back. What had happened? Had Mitsunari stabbed her? She struggled to breathe, spitting up blood. What an unfair ending.

"Don't die, Megohime..." Masamune pleaded, playing the part well. Mitsunari was stunned to silence, only able to watch. Just how sick was Masamune?

It was hard to tell where she was with dying, having her eyes covered, but it was soon apparent that she wasn’t too far off by how weak her heartbeat felt. Her breathing slowed, and so did her thoughts, clinging onto Masamune’s words for comfort. Only now did it dawn on Mitsunari that Megohime wasn’t Masamune’s partner in crime, she was his pawn.

Masamune heard Megohime take her last breath, heart slowing to a stop as her life ended. She lay dead in his arms, blood still slowly dripping from her back, but there was no saving her now.

"And now, you truly have brought war to your self righteous little school." Masamune said as he picked up Megohime, "I hope you're prepared."
"Y-You...you will suffer for such atrocities...!!" Mitsunari hissed.

Megohime hung limply in his arms, blood staining her face and soaking the back of her clothes. She had almost been an innocent in Masamune’s game, being led by the nose like a loyal dog.

Mitsunari had no choice but to let him go, fighting him on his own would be a suicide. He had to tell Shingen, so he turned and left for the car. Masamune looked down at Megohime and gave a low noise, "Don't keep me waiting."

Her corpse gave no response, but he did feel a faint flicker of life; it wasn’t Megohime though, instead the curse born from Masamune’s words, twisting Megohime soul and feelings and keeping them chained to this world.

When Mitsunari returned to the school, he rushed to Shingen to tell him what had happened. Akihime was there, as well as Yukimura. She covered her mouth in horror when Mitsunari confessed to the events that had taken place, eyes wide.

Yukimura stood with wide eyes and clenched fists at the news. “Killing his own comrade?” He echoed. “Just what kind of monster is this Date becoming?”
