Gurenge (1x1 w/DarkMudkip)

Yukimura nodded, standing. “I’ll tend to her the best I can, we’ll be waiting.” He said, returning to Akihime and Sasuke. Who was he to use the antidote on? There was only one, and barely enough at that.

Yukimura looked up from the vials in his hands, eyes growing sad as he met Sasuke’s eye. “They were broken during battle..”

Yukimura looked to Akihime, but feeling lost and confused, did as Sasuke told him. He helped Sasuke drink what little of the antidote was left, hoping he was doing the right thing.

Sasuke immediately felt feeling return to his limbs and he pushed himself up shakily, "Ok, I'll go and find a doctor. Stay with her, try to get water in her. I'll be right back, I promise." He said.

Yukimura nodded, quickly returning to Akihime’s side. He made sure she was still breathing and stable before going to fetch water and a blanket.

Sasuke hurried out as best as his legs would allow, ignoring Mitsunari's morbid work across the way. Akihime was breathing, but it was shallow, and she was drenched in sweat.

Yukimura covered her in the blanket and slowly gave her small drinks of water at a time. He knew they had to be fast, not having a medic or doctor with them meant they needed to find one quickly to help her.

Yukimura looked concerned and slightly embarrassed as he turned to Mitsunari. “It’s from her nethers..” He had found the bleeding after doing a quick examination of her body, thinking perhaps a gut or limb wound, but found it to be between her legs.

Mitsunari was quiet. So hauntingly quiet that Yukimura's ears rang. Akihime's shallow breathing and the crackling of the hearth were the only sounds, and it made Yukimura's skin crawl. Mitsunari's eyes moved over the floor, over the blood, before looking to his sister.
"Sou ka..." He muttered, barely above a whisper.

Yukimura sat in awkward silence as well, was there something Mitsunari knew that he did not? He pursed his lips and frowned softly at the floor.

Yukimura stood, shaking his head as he ushered the doctor to Akihime. “Just please, tell us what’s wrong with her.”

Yukimura stayed in the room, but turned away to give the doctor and Akihime privacy, heart pounding in his chest.

“A-Ah.. no… y-yes..” He stumbled over his words, clearing his throat. Would Akihime be mad or offended if he were to claim such a thing?
“Akihime is my wife.. is something wrong with her..?”

"Well, we'll see in a moment. I only asked because you stayed." He said before he got to work. Yukimura could hear fabric rustling and the doctor give a concerned noise before there was silence. Akihime's ragged breathing was interrupted by a grunt of pain and Yukimura had to fight himself not to turn around.

Yukimura felt squeamish at Akihime’s pained grunt, looking around the parts of the house he could that wouldn’t intrude on Akihime. “Is she okay?”

"Well," he sounded saddened, "she'll live, once I make her a tonic. Though, your child did not survive whatever it was that made her ill to begin with. I'm terribly sorry to give you such news."

“Ch-Child..?” Yukimura turned fully, face draining of color and his heart sinking. “You mean she was pregnant..?”

Yukimura nodded numbly. “And she’ll live..?” He asked softly, a ringing slowly growing in his ears.
