"Shouta...! Shouta, stay with me...!" Mitsunari grabbed him and pulled him against his chest, craddling him, "F-Focus on your breathing, it'll be ok!"
"Amaya, you're coming with me. I don't have the patience to play games anymore." Masamune said before imposing his will over her.

“Y-Yes..” The words came from her mouth when she meant to say something else, like she wasn’t in control of herself. She was terrified, confused, and conflicted.
Yukimura stumbled slightly, but stayed on his feet. “You won’t be taking her!” He wielded his blade again, facing Masamune.

Masamune's hard and terrifying gaze landed on him.
"If you come closer, I will go into that shed you're all hiding in and rip off the heads of the other two Slayers therein." He threatened.
"Y-Yukimura...!" Akihime stood at the door, using her blade as a cane, "I want to help...!"

“Don’t move, Akihime!!” Yukimura snapped, legs frozen to the spot. He knew that even if they all fought together, not one of them would stand a chance.
“I-I’ll go with you! I’ll go with you, so please, let them live..!” Amaya begged, taking a small step forward.

Masamune turned his gaze to Amaya and nodded, "A wise choice. Let's be off." He said before walking away casually.
"A-Ama, don't! W-We can kill him while we have the chance!" Akihime took a single step forward and Masamune turned toward her.
"Didn't Sanada warn you not to move?" He asked lowly, his nails growing longer and sharper.

Sweat formed on Yukimura’s brow, and he moved to stand before Akihime, blade at the ready.
Amaya moved forward, panic in her eyes. “Please don’t, I already agreed to leave with you- I-I won’t let them interfere..!”

Amaya nodded, swallowing the lump in her throat as she followed after him, eyes glued to his back. New fear emerged when she saw the wound left on his back, which was the only wound that didn’t seem to be healing as quickly as the ones the slayers left on him.

Yukimura slowly lowered his blade, in shock that they had all somehow made it out alive- well, almost all of them.
Shouta was still gasping like a fish, trying desperately to breathe, but his attempts had grown painfully weak. He was beyond saving, his wound too grievous to do anything about. He stared up at the sky blankly, tears in his eyes that struggled to focus on nothing in particular.

"Shouta. Look at me, dammit." Mitsunari grasped his chin gently and turned his head, "You can't die, do you understand? Y-You can't...!"
"Nii-san..." Akihime frowned deeply and Mitsunari clenched his jaw.
"Forgive me, Shouta. Please, forgive me.." He pleaded weakly.

Tears fell down the young man’s face, but his eyes never met Mitsunari’s, he only looked straight through him. He would not respond to Mitsunari’s words, as he took one last shuddering gasp before falling still. Yukimura moved over to where Mitsunari held Shouta, frowning heavily at the scene before him. He turned his head away to fight his own tears, saying nothing.

Mitsunari began to shake before holding Shouta tighter, not caring if his blood stained his uniform or his haori. He fought his tears until he couldn't, wailing loudly in anguish as he sobbed.

Yukimura put his hand on Akihime’s shoulder, motioning to her quietly that they should give Mitsunari space.

She looked to him and nodded, leaning against him for support as they walked away quietly. Her chest tightened and she gave a ragged breath, tears pouring down her cheeks, "I-It's so unfair, Yukimura..."

Yukimura held onto Akihime to make sure she didn’t fall as they returned to the house, fighting his own tears. “We’ll avenge his death, we won’t let Date get away with this.”

She nodded weakly, walking into the house and leaning against the wall.
"Wh-What happened?" Sasuke was still a paralyzed sack on the floor, "Wh-What's up with Ishida?"
"Shouta-kun...he..." Akihime couldn't finish, partly from grief, the other part being a sudden wave of pain flooding her. She grimaced and held her stomach, doubling over and wailing in pain.

Yukimura rushed to her side despite the pain and fogginess of his head wound. “Akihime, what’s wrong? Were you injured?” He knelt beside her, sure Masamune had never touched her.

She shook her head, "N-No, I-I don't...think so..." Sweat broke out along her brow and blood stained the wood where she sat before her eyes rolled back and she fainted.
"A-Aki!!" Sasuke tried to squirm over but couldn't, "Where's that damned antidote Amaya had?!" With Mitsunari still, he knew that.

“A-Antidote?” Yukimura hadn’t been aware of any antidote, laying Akihime out and putting his haori under her head. “What antidote..?!” He wasn’t sure why Akihime was bleeding, or even from where.

Yukimura was stumbling out the door and back toward Mitsunari in the courtyard. “Mitsunari!” He dropped to his knees beside the Hashira, knowing that now was a difficult time for him, but he had little choice. “Somethings wrong with Akihime..! I need the antidote..!”

Mitsunari swallowed his sobs for a moment, reaching into his pocket with a shaking hand. He pulled out two bottles, only one was completely shattered and the other leaking with not much left.
"What...what's wrong with her...?" His voice was soft, numb, "Did Date hurt her, as well...?"

Yukimura felt his heart drop, carefully taking the bottles in his hand, looking back up at Mitsunari. “No, I don’t think so… I think it’s the poison Amaya used… She’s unconscious and bleeding..”

He couldn't just leave Shouta, didn't want to leave. But, if he didn't, he might lose his sister too. "Let me bury him, and then I will help..." He muttered.
