Gurenge (1x1 w/DarkMudkip)

Yukimura and Shouta were sitting at the hearth tending the fire as they waited for Mitsunari and Akihime to return, both looking to the door when it opened. Yukimura stood immediately, Shouta reaching for the blade on the floor beside him as Amaya followed close behind Mitsunari.
“What happened?” Yukimura asked as he moved toward Akihime and Mitsunari, brows furrowed. “Were you attacked?”

Akihime looked saddened and shook her head.
"No...but..." She turned her head and Mitsunari moved, showing this bizarre character holding up a sniveling Sasuke.
"D...Dana..." He hiccuped.

Yukimura was surprised and reprieved to see Sasuke, but had to put those feelings aside for the panic he felt when he saw the demon beside him.
“Mitsunari, why did you bring a demon back here?” Shouta had his grip on the hilt of his blade, tight as he stared her down.
“Amaya?” Yukimura looked confused, barely recognizing the Hashira.

"Don't let him do it, dana, you can't let him do it..." Sasuke pleaded. Akihime held onto Yukimura for support.
"Amaya was turned into a demon, how I don't know...but she's paralyzed Sasuke and I until Mitsunari takes her head.." She explained.

Yukimura’s eyes widened in horror and he looked to the demon holding up Sasuke. Amaya frowned and handed Sasuke off to Yukimura. “Please do not try to stop this, I’ve already made my mind up. It’s my decision to make.”
Yukimura looked to Akihime, then to Sasuke, clenching his teeth. He didn’t want this, to lose another comrade, but he was conflicted. Not only did it go against Slayer Corps rules to allow a demon to live, it was Amaya who had made the choice herself to die. “I..”

"She has made her peace, Yukimura." Mitsunari stated, "You know as well as I, and as well as she."
"Dana..." Sasuke could barely lift his head, "She shouldn't have to die for my mistake..."

Yukimura looked to Amaya. “Amaya I-”
“That’s enough out of everyone.” Amaya said exasperatedly. “I became a demon, not an invalid, I can make my own decisions. I’ve heard enough objections, I’ve made up my mind.”
How could Yukimura argue with that? How could he reject the decision she herself had made?
“I’m sorry, Sasuke, Akihime..” He said quietly.

Akihime closed her eyes to fight new tears and Sasuke gave a weak sob.
"Ama, if we meet again in the next life, I hope we can remain friends...I wish I had more time with you.." Akihime said, smiling weakly.

Amaya turned to face the door, her expression hidden from everyone but Mitsunari. “I’m sure we’ll be friends again.” She said softly, but her expression was sad, for she knew that she wouldn’t be getting a second life.

Amaya gave a nod and walked past Mitsunari outside, a numb feeling overcoming her as she came ever closer to her execution.
Shouta moved to follow Mitsunari, a stern look on his face as he did so, not wanting to leave him alone with a demon.
Amaya stood in the courtyard, looking up at the night sky as she knelt on the ground, removing her hat and placing it on the ground beside her.

Amaya swallowed the lump in her throat, closing her eyes. “Please keep Akihime and Sasuke safe.” She said softly. “That is all I wish for.”
Shouta kept his grip on his own blade, but kept it sheathed, a frown on his face as he listened in silence.

He nodded, "As you wish." He replied and his foot shifted to deliver her a quick death. But he wouldn't get to. As if by some disgusting and cruel twist of fate, Date Masamune himself appeared between Mitsunari and Amaya, catching his nichirin blade in his hand.
"I'm sas to inform you that she will not be dying tonight."
"Date?!" Mitsunari growled, eyes wide.

Amaya felt death at her back when Masamune spoke, turning to look upon the demon that had indirectly sired her.
“Mitsunari!!” Shouta drew his blade from its sheath, lurching forward to move to Mitsunari’s side.

"You must be the new Water Hashira I've been told about." Masamune remarked before shoving Mitsunari away and grabbing Tachi hard bu the throat, almost snapping his neck from the force.
"Can't have that, now can we?"
"Tachi!" Mitsunari scrambled to his feet and rushed forward, slicing Masamune's neck cleanly but it just healed.

Shouta’s eyes widened as his air was cut off, seeing stars from how hard he was grabbed, but he didn’t stop his attack. He plunged his blade into Masamune’s stomach- only it didn’t make it. The blade snapped upon coming into contact with Masamune, the broken fragment hitting the ground at his feet.
Amaya felt a jolt run through her as she was roused from her frozen position on the ground, moving to defend the slayers who had just been there to kill her moments before. She swiped her nails down Masamune’s back, tearing the fabric easily and leaving deep cuts in his flesh that seemed to putrefy upon contact.

Masamune grimaced and scowled as he looked back at her.
"How pathetic you've become, Snow Hashira. Once so proud." He said before swinging Tachi to bat her away like an annoying fly. Mitsunari tried to attack again but was kicked hard in the head, sending him spinning into the dirt.
"And you," he glared down at Mitsunari, squeezing Tachi's neck tighter, "a poor excuse for a Slayer. They must have been desperate, or perhaps they only allowed you to join because of your sister."
"Shut your mouth, cur!!" Mitsunari snarled.

Amaya went skidding across the courtyard and into a stone wall, hitting it with a hard crack before falling to the ground.
Shouta tried desperately to breathe, face growing red as his hands started to shake, dropping his broken sword as the world started to spin.
At this point, the door to the house opened, Yukimura appearing with his own nichirin blade drawn, a deep scowl set on his face as he rushed forward to attack Masamune.

Yukimura had no choice but to catch Shouta, skidding backwards with a grunt as he did so. “Your words will not stop me! I will continue my duty as a Hashira without fail!” Yukimura shot back.

Amaya was back up on her feet as well, jumping onto Masamune’s back and latching her teeth into the back of his neck. Yukimura charged forward again, leaving Shouta to catch his breath on the ground. Flames wrapped around Yukimura’s blade as he got in close to Masamune, turning his blade so he could slash upward. “Forgive me, Amaya.”

Masamune didn't seem weighed down by Amaya, dodging Yukimura's blow easily before grabbing the former Hashira and throwing her off his back. He healed way too quickly, and moved so fast that Yukimura barely blocked the swipe of Masamune's sharpened nails.
"More persistent than roaches." Masamune remarked, clearly annoyed, be punching Yukimura hard in the head and grabbing Mitsunari as he jumped at him, throwing him hard into the ground.
"Only one way to deal with creatures such as you." Masamune growled before his eyes moved to Shouta. Before anyone could move, Masamune was on him, shoving his hand straight through Shouta's sternum. Mitsunari's eyes widened in horror as he watched Masamune lift the young man off the ground before throwing him off his arm and sending him skidding across the ground.
"T...Tachi..." Mitsunari was in disbelief before suddenly scrambling toward him, "Shouta!!"

Both Yukimura and Amaya went flying, unable to do enough damage to Masamune to make a difference.
Shouta didn’t even have time to react before Masamune had run him through, and the next thing he knew was he had been thrown again. He couldn’t breathe, couldn’t move, his entire body numb and heavy as a wet feeling spread beneath him, staring up at the sky blankly. He tried to take breaths to stop his bleeding, but his lungs had been destroyed, and he couldn’t.
Once more, Amaya tried to get to her feet, staggering as she did, Yukimura on his feet as well, but bleeding heavily from his head.
