Gurenge (1x1 w/DarkMudkip)

Amaya struggled to get him leaned against a tree, helping him sit before digging for her water. “Did Matsunaga poison you?”

Amaya looked up at his face, her expression dropping before she reached up and touched his face. “Your face..” The claw marks across his face were red and inflamed, looking like they were beginning to fester. “These are only hours old, yet they’re like this..”

“It’s not funny.” She raised the water to his lips again, searching her mind. She had very little knowledge on poisons, let alone demon poisons- how was she supposed to cure Sasuke?

“The only way you can keep going in this condition is if I carry you.” She said firmly, as she pulled off her haori, draping it around his shoulders to cover him. “We’re stopping for the night. You need to rest.”

“You’re not.” She said firmly, digging through the pack Sasuke had. “This area is plenty shaded, we’ll be fine to stop here even if day breaks.” She stood and started to gather a few sticks and twigs from the ground to make a fire.

“No!” Amaya was on him before he could even blink, pinning him with his back against the ground, teeth bared and eyes aflame with rage. “Stop arguing with me on this. We aren’t going anywhere until you’re in better health, end of discussion.”

He grunted when he hit the ground ans wheezed a bit, "Wh-What do you care if I live or die...? I was selfish and made you a demon...as far as I know, you hate my guts...now suddenly I'm not allowed to buy the farm...?"

“You aren’t!” She snapped, Sasuke feeling something wet drip onto his cheek. Amaya was fighting her tears, but they still leaked out. “If I have to become a monster, you have to live with one..!” Her voice cracked as she spoke, balking up her fists. “I’m tired of watching people die around me..!”

He laid there quietly for a moment before his expression softened, "Hey...ok, I get it...don't cry, please, I hate seeing pretty girls cry..." He said, "I won't die...not if you don't want me to.."

Amaya wiped her tears away with her sleeve. “I wouldn’t have to if you didn’t say dumb shit like that..” She muttered.

She sat up and crawled off of him, returning to the fire. “We’ll rest here until you’re better.”

“You will.” She said firmly. “I’ll make sure that you do.” She fed the fire some dry leaves and moss, frowning softly.

She stared into the fire, a sad look coming over her face as she watched the flames dance and grow. “Even then.” She said softly.

Amaya tossed a few more sticks into the fire, fighting fresh tears. “You’re supposed to be resting.”
