Ghouls Dogma (1x1 with DarkMudkip)

Jin had always sat on her own at lunch, eating food from home that she had prepared herself, which surprisingly was only broth and a bread roll. It was a strange lunch, one that almost seemed like something a prisoner would eat at a maximum security prison, and not something an Heiress to a prestigious lineage of Ghoul Investigators would eat. She didn’t look up from her meal when he sat down, only continued to eat in silence like he wasn’t even there, her expression completely blank. Her eyes though, her eyes were different. It was as if they had been plucked from a corpse and put into a living being, not a single shimmer of light in the dull copper colored eyes, maybe she really was a doll.

"There is very little nutritional value in your lunch." He pointed out, opening his bento to reveal extravagantly made food that seemed rather balanced.

The broth in the bowl seemed to have very little heat to it as well, Jin simply picking it up and sipping it down quietly, not even glancing at his food. Everyone knew of the Kawabe’s, they were far from poor, so why was she eating such a cheap and unhealthy meal? Surely with the entire Kawabe wealth now at her disposal she could afford a better meal? She set the bowl down when she had finished the broth, picking up the last bit of roll and eating that as well, and for the first time, actually looking at him. It seemed a bit more like she was looking through him than at him, but it was an improvement.

She stared down at it, almost like she didn’t even know what to do with it, then looked up at him.
“I’ve already eaten.”
It was the first time he had heard her speak since she had arrived there, her voice soft and calm.

“Eating food like that will only slow you down in a fight.” She said softly, standing and collecting her tray. “It makes you weak.” She said, not a hint of malice in her tone, then she left.

Nothing changed, the days progressed normally, and the classmate he had was still strange. She still ate alone, studied alone, sat alone, completely isolated from all of her peers; without a single friend, and yet nothing seemed to bother her. Her bullying would only get worse, her gym clothes would be stolen and thrown in the garbage, her shoes filled with razors and even destroyed, but she simply went about her day. Nothing seemed to make her happy either though, she always had the same blank expression on her face no matter what activity she did.

Matsunaga did his best to befriend her until it just came to the point where he followed her around anyway and sat with her at lunch even if she didn't want him to.

She never told him to leave, never ignored him, simply coexisted with him. While she was reading one day, she spoke to him first. “Why are you following me?” She didn’t look up from her book, keeping her nose buried in it.

That actually caught her off guard, forcing her eyes away from her book and bringing them to Matsunaga. “What do you mean?” She asked, slowly closing her book; this was by far the most interaction he had had with her.

"Neither of us have friends, we are exceptional students and the other students fear us to a degree. Though I believe they are more terrified of me than they are of you." He said.

She mulled over what he had told her. “And for those reasons, we should be friends?” She asked simply, running her fingers along the edges of her book.

She stared down at the grass for quite some time, then answered again. “I suppose having a comrade wouldn’t inhibit my fighting in anyway.”
Jin’s eyes slowly peeled open, staring up at the dark ceiling of her apartment, then turning her head to look at the alarm clock at her beside table, which read two o’clock in the morning. She let out a faint noise and rolled onto her side; she hadn’t dreamt of her academy days in years.

Kojurou had decided that for Masamune's sake, he would go check on Megohime. Jin made him realise that his bigotry was a little shallow sighted and that maybe he should give her a chance.

Hisehide had been spending quite a bit of his free time at Cochlea with Megohime, working to get information out of her on the Tsukiyama’s, but at this point, if she hadn’t given up anything she was likely never going to. Hisehide has just brought Megohime back to her cell, requiring a gurney to move her to and from the interrogation room; even going so far as to just leave her strapped down to her gurney until he was ready to come get her next, so she wouldn’t tear any of the stitching keeping her together.

Kojurou moved through Cochlea quietly, contemplating what he would say to her. She was likely going to tell him to go to hell, and she had every right to. He was rude to her and took her away from Masamune. And because of that, Masamune locked himself away in his room; the only way Kojurou knew he was still alive was he sometimes heard the bathroom door open and shut. He wanted Masamune back to normal, and if this was how it had to be done then he would do it.
When he entered Megohime's cell, he was horrified to see her in the state she was in. What had happened to her? Who had done this? That's when he realized he hadn't seen Matsunaga in a long while. In fact, he hadn't seen Matsunaga in days. He left her room and hurried all the way back to HQ to find his partner.

Megohime hadn’t even been in the kind of state to notice that Kojurou had entered the room, lying limply on the gurney and twitching a few times in response to the sound of the door opening and closing.
Jin and Yukimura were going over files together, doing paperwork on Ghouls they had either brought in or killed, closing cases, processing them, or even starting new ones.

They weren't so engrossed in their work that they saw Kojurou creating a war path through the offices, his brow furrowed in a deep and angry scowl.

Jin blinked, looking up from her work as she watched Kojurou. “Katakura-sosakan?” She questioned, a confused look on his face as to why he looked so angry.

"Where's Matsunaga?" He asked. No one had ever seen Kojurou so angry before, it was actually rather terrifying. His whole body seemed to show his rage. What had gotten him so wound up?

“Ah, he just went out for coffee not to long ago, he should be back soon- why? Is everything alright?” Jin set her papers down, Yukimura looking at Kojurou with the same wide eyes everyone in the room was.
