Mornië utúlië (1x1 w/ Jikkah)

Megohime felt like her neck was going to melt and allow for her head to drop right off her body, trying hard to pull it off at the expense of burning her hands as well. “F-Fuck off..!” She choked out.

Megohime would’ve told him if it meant he’d leave the estate and never endanger Masamune again, but Kojurou hadn’t disclosed the location he had hidden her. “Don’t know, don’t care..!” She wrapped her tail around his ankle, giving a hard yank to try and pull him to the floor.

Megohime felt like she was going to lose consciousness, unable to escape the chain wrapped around her neck. She tried anything, tried pulling him away with her tail, tried clawing at his arms or face, gasping and choking. Even her magic was erratic, unable to focus on him and cast spells at him.

Megohime didn’t answer his question, only spun on him and aiming a blast of fire right at his head. She was gasping and coughing, white spots in her vision, but she still tried her hardest to fight back against Matsunaga.

His hair was singed before he could bring up the bracer to absorb the magical hellfire. He looked annoyed before making the sign of the cross, reciting a soft holy mantra at her.

Megohime felt like her organs would come out through her throat, her head pounding and her eardrums feeling like they were going to implode. She let out another wail of agony, hands over her ears as she fell back onto the floor.

The pain continued long after Matsunaga stopped, and when the pain subsided, Matsunaga was gone. Perhaps he grew bored? Perhaps he went looking for this God himself.

Megohime didn’t care, didn’t care if he did find the god and killed her right where she was. Crawling toward Masamune the best she could, blood dripping from her mouth and ears. “Masamune..” She groaned, worried that he still wasn’t waking. “Masamune..!”

Megohime couldn’t stand, finding her body weak and the pain still ever present. Reaching Masamune, she checked him for wounds before laying her head on the cold stone floor, too wounded to move, waiting for him to regain consciousness.

The adrenaline had long worn off, and exhaustion had set it, making it hard to focus as she struggled to stay conscious. “Kojurou... Kojurou needs help..” She groaned out, laying unmoving at his side.

Tears leaked down her cheeks. “I’m ok, but he did something to Kojurou..” She seemed to be more upset about Masamune’s other familiar, whom Masamune had yet to hear or see from.

Masamune looked over at Kojurou and Megohime saw the color drain from his face, "Oh, my God..." He scrambled to the old bird's side and looked him over, "Kojurou? Kojurou! What happened?!" Masamune was beyond panicked.

What good was it? Megohime had traded more of herself for power, but it hadn’t done any good at all. The hunter had wiped the floor with all three of them, and as much as she was angry with Kojurou for endangering Masamune, she hadn’t wanted him to be harmed.

"His magic is almost gone..! Goddammit, you bleeding heart of a bird brain...!" Masamune tried to pull Kojurou up, his arm over his shoulder, "Hang on...! I can fix this...!"

Megohime could hear Lucifer now, laughing at her foolish greed, her inexperience, her failure. She gnashed her teeth, only able to watch her master struggle to drag Kojurou away.

Megohime felt herself drifting into unconsciousness, tears slipping down her cheeks as she finally passed out.

She could hear someone calling out to her, far away and muffled, but she couldn't pun down who it was. She felt so heavy, like she did when she died, but she didn't think she was dead again.

She found the voice calling out to her irritating, wanting nothing more than to just rest, to sink into the inky darkness and be left alone.
