Kat giggled and wiggled in her mate's lap while she ate then sighed, "That's very true. Do whatever you need to keep her safe baby. This is your world, not mine. But I don't want my baby out there until she can handle herself. And I know you'll do just that."

She relaxed in her mate's lap, watching some pups from the nursery walk past on their way to the pool to practise swimming. All of them were tiny in their young wolf forms, reminding Kat of when Kyra was that small.

"Our baby is all grown up love."

~

Kyra was enjoying talking to her aunt, feeling much better after her heart to heart with her mother. And the more Kytara explained her job, the more Kyra felt like it fit. She was intrigued by the herbs and medicine, though she knew nothing about it yet. Then Kytara grabbed her shard, which she had been keeping on her nightstand.

"She did? Really?" she was surprised. The Queen had given her a gift indeed. She winced as her aunt cut her, then took the shard and followed her instructions, placing her free hand over her thigh and healing it.

"Wow!" she exclaimed, grinning, "That's amazing. So it drains the shard or me? It won't hurt you will it?!"

Terra laughed at Kat as she mentioned Kyra being grown up.
"In body yes. Mind, she's got a ways to go, so no puppy fever alright."
She said as she winked to her mate and ran her hand along Kat's inner thigh just to tease her mate.
"Though we can always practice in case you ever want to give Kyra a sibling later."

Kytara smiled and shook her head.
"It'll drain you. Making you tired and sluggish. So you'll need to use the gifts more to gain a bit of tolerance and know when it's time to stop and rest. Sleeping on a full stomach will help you regain your energy just like if you work out too hard. Being a Lycan, your stamina is already very high, but healing can be taxing. Angel would be the best one to talk about since she's a combat healer. She's learned to heal when under the stress of war."
She said as she smiled. Spending the rest of the afternoon talking to Kyra, the two got pretty close. Taking her to the garden she showed her a few plants that were within distance of the home that she could make salve's out of as well as ointments.

While they were there, Kytara spotted Angel doing the same thing. Picking herbs and putting them into a sack while inspecting each herb to make sure it was healthy.
"Herb farming?"
Angel looked at the female and smiled with a nod.
"Even us Spirit users still rely on the small things. It keeps the mind sharp while allowing us to ignore smaller wounds and focus our energy on the bigger ones."
Looking at Kyra, Angel cocked her head.
"Studying herbs as well?"

Kat giggled, her skin warm under Terra's touch. It was a warm day outside so she was wearing short denim shorts, giving Terra a great view of her long toned legs.

"Practice might be in order," she purred, "Don't want to be rusty when the time comes. Hehe Terra! Behave. Someone might notice your hand." Kat giggled, not really wanting her to stop massaging her thigh.

~

Kyra enjoyed the whole afternoon with her aunt, picking her brain and growing closer. When she was good enough to take a walk they went down to the gardens, Kyra using her aunt's help to walk, her body sore and her ribs really burning. She was healing, and her mother had promised that a day of rest showed heal it up after she admited to Terra that Sonya broke a rib, but it still hurt to move her torso too much.

Examining herbs, they ran into the Shade, Angel, the one who had healed her near fatal wound the day before. Jayden had left her several messages asking if she was okay after that, including an angry teasing one about offering him only her lamp if she died.

Kyra smiled softly, being polite, "My Aunt is showing me yes. I'm considering becoming a healer."

She held out her hand, the shard still in her palm. She hadn't let it go all afternoon. There was an odd comfort to keeping it on herself.

Angel stood up and dusted her hands, holding her hand out and sending a glittering white mist toward Kyra. That mist wrapped around her like a warm embrace and healed the soreness in her chest, completely healed her rib and gave her some of the energy back that she'd used just moving around in such a banged up shape.
"Healer's need to keep themselves in tip top shape. Acknowledging when you're wounded and fixing that. Being stubborn about your own injuries puts your team at risk since you're not on your game."
Angel then glanced to Kytara.
"She should learn herbs before she learns spirit. Kyra something you need to remember. We elementals don't control the elements. We are united with them. Meaning the element will only work with you if you show your worth. Demanding an element to help you will result in a back fire. Meaning whatever the injury is that you're trying to heal. The energy will heal by removing it from the victim and putting it on you. Ask the element. Show you have a good heart and it will work with you. Show yourself as being stubborn and over confident...and it'll work against you. Humility is something all healers need."

Walking past the two, Angel tapped her ribs where she'd been hurt.
"Start by accepting when you're in pain and seeking help."
She said as she nodded to the two and walked off to give them some privacy.

---------------------

Terra smiled at her mate and nibbled the side of her neck as she raked her nails along Kat's thigh.
"When have I ever cared about that love?"
She asked as she slipped her middle finger between the crotch of Kat's shorts and stroked her clit for a moment then pulled her finger away.
"But if you insist...I'll stop."
Smirking as she rested her hand on Kat's knee.

Kat groaned, closing her eyes and enjoying the attentions, however they were brief. Terra knew her body better than herself.

"I don't insist," she purred, running a hand down her arm to Terra's thigh, then behind her. There was a small gap her hand slipped into, running her own nails on where Terra's cock was hiding beneath her own work out clothes, "You know I love how crazy you can be."

She sighed, cupping Terra's crotch, "How long is your lunch break baby? I think I can use that practice now."

~

Kyra didn't argue. What the Shade's had seen of the girl hadn't been out of a hurt ego and stubbornness. Sure her ego had been bruised, and she was as stubborn as her mother, but her attitude had been of a child fearful they had lost a mother's respect. It had messed her up yesterday, but today was a new day. And she knew whichever path she chose, both her mothers would be proud of her.

With that knowledge, and a large dose of humility she turned and called after Angel, "Wait...please! You didn't even let me thank you."

She tugged her Aunt to follow and caught up to the Shade, "You didn't have to heal me. You could have taught me that lesson and let me heal my own wounds. So thank you."

She bowed like she was taught to, in respect to an elder and trainer. Then she had to ask, "How does a Shade like yourself learn to use the element? There is no Lycan I can ask, and my Auntie can only tell me as much as she has seen from your people. I want to learn."

There was a gleam in her eye, a determined one. When Kyra set her mind to it, she would put 110% into her work. As a Hound trainee she had put her blood, sweat, and tears into those fields, stumbling and failing sure, but never giving up until she passed a test. But her mother was right. A warrior she was not. But a healer she certainly could be.

Angel stopped and looked at Kyra for a long moment.
"I healed you because we're on the same team. Healer's don't hold grudges, we don't judge. If you're hurting, regardless of our personal opinion, we heal. That's our job and that's where humility plays a big part. You have to think about others and not yourself unless your own issues will restrict your healing. For example. That Nick pup. I find him absolutely disgusting and a complete waste of air, however. I will heal him if he's injured and I happen to be in the area. Your friend Thia is a complete and utter idiot for finding a male like Nick attractive, or she has horrible standards. Yet I will still heal her. Getting over your own personal feelings is the hardest thing for a healer."

Angel sat down on a bench and held her hand out, closing her eyes as a white wisp formed in her hand.
"This is a spirit. The energy I wield. It has a mind and feelings. It's a soul of someone long past, so I have to appeal to them in a way. You also have to know what spirit to use. Any amount of black in the mist is a tainted spirit, they will not heal, they will act on their own accord so you need to focus and hone your senses, seeking out the pure spirits over the tainted."
Letting the spirit dance happily on her hand she whispered to the spirit.
"Is she worthy?"

The spirit bounced off of her hand and swirled around Kyra for a few moments then flickered as it went back to Angel's hand.
"Well, it would listen to you...with practice. You're too emotional at the moment. Excitement is good, but too much will blur your senses. An excited spirit becomes a bomb of sorts, exploding and releasing a torrent of energy that would heal your team yes, but it will also heal your enemies."
Letting the spirit dance around on her hand she smiled.
"Stick with her today."
Letting the spirit bounce off of her hand, it stayed floating over Kyra's shoulder.
"When it feels comfortable, you may hear it's voice. If you do. Consider that a step in the right direction. This is your test."

-----------------------------

Terra giggled and looked at Bear who waved her off.
"Apparently I have an extended lunch break...so let's get your fine ass into the bedroom...or we can use my old pool house."
She said as she lifted her mate into her arms and decided to go to the pool house. She barely managed to close the door behind her before she was sitting Kat on a dresser and yanking her top off of her while kissing her deeply and rubbing her hands all over Kat's body. Acting like a juvenile pup and her first time having sex.

Kyra listened. And digested. Some of her old training was coming into play already. Stop, Watch, Learn. And Kyra loved to learn. She had self taught herself the bow, through books and trial and error. When she was six she taught herself to play piano from Uncle Alex's notes alone. She only knew one song, but her Uncle made her play it on special occasions still.

She smiled as the spirit appeared, curious about the white wisp as Angel explained. She had no idea their were different types of spirits , or that they would react differently to her. It floated around her then settled back onto Angel's hand. She blinked, biting her lip as Angel continued to explain. How was she supposed to control her inner excitement? She was good at hiding her emotions, and focusing through them, but she was still young. She had no training on how to stifle them.

"If it is a spirit I need...wouldn't that be my auntie? She came from the shard right?" Kyra smiled warmly at her aunt, then blinked, watching the little wisp fly up to her shoulder.

"But...how do I make it comfortable?" she asked confused. She turned to her Aunt and now resident spirit in hopes of answers. Kyra was dipping her toe into the world of healing, and there was so much she didn't know.

~

Kat giggled and asked for the poolhouse, already trying to pull Terra's clothes free as they stumbled in, hitting the old dresser. Soon she was topless, her breasts on beautiful display as she tugged Terra's top off just as horny and pinch her studded nipples, still loving the feel of metal beneath her fingers.

"Oh baby," she groaned, giggling as they acted like horny pups, breaking into the poolhouse to fuck on her lunch break, unable to get enough of her touches or her mouth.

Angel stood up and tapped right between her breasts.
"This. This is your guide. Spirit energy and healing is trial and error. Every healer is different in their own way because they learned on their own. No books, no notes, just feeling it out and leaving your mind and heart open to your guide. The Guide will help you when it feels comfortable. So, just carry on with your day. Talk to it. Even if it doesn't answer back. You should be able to tell what it likes and doesn't like by the feeling. Cold is a no, warm is a yes. Buzzing is excitement, shaking is fear. See the spirit's emotions with something other than your eyes."
Angel smiled and waved as she walked off.
"Good luck. Come find me when you've learned your Spirit's name."

As Angel left, the spirit's temperature against her face dropped slightly. Kyra's confusion was causing the spirit to worry, Angel had been a comforting energy, but now that it was alone, it was starting to worry which not only made it colder to her, but it began to shake slightly, dancing on her shoulder while seemingly trying to leave but only succeeding in swirling around her.
Kytara tried to speak to it, telling it not to worry and that Kyra was a good soul but because it was linked to Kyra, it couldn't feel if Kytara was telling the truth or not so it didn't help.
"Kyra honey...may wanna start talking and moving around."

-------------------------

Terra moaned at the feeling of her mate's fingers against her nipples, lifting her mate's hips to wiggle her shorts off before she hoisted her up and dropped her onto the bed, kicking her own shorts off as she straddled her lover's head, almost forcing her cock into Kat's mouth while her mouth latched onto her slick folds to tongue fuck her. Moaning at the sweet taste she loved so much. Her hands gripping and kneading the soft flesh of her mate's ass cheeks.

Kyra made a nervous face, "No books or notes?"

This was a whole new type of learning. But she was determined to try. As Angel walked off the spirit began to get colder and Kyra felt a flinch of panic. Already she was off to a bad start.

"Okay...okay. Um, hi little spirit. I'm Kyra," she felt a little silly talking to the small wisp, but Kytara and Angel had made it seem so natural, Kyra knew she had to to, "I guess calling you little might be rude. For all I know your a big spirit. Your feeling cold. Let's, hmm, warm you up."

She looked to Kytara, "How do you make a spirit happy? Do I go about my day, or is there something special that can help? Auntie I don't want to fail."

Not just Angel. She was worried she'd hurt the little wisp on her shoulder.

~

Kat moaned, dropping onto the bed and opened her mouth as Terra forced her cock in, swallowing all of it just in time to stifle the cries as Terra got to work tongue fucking her, finding all her sensitive spots her tongue had a perfect way of rubbing. She arched and writhed a bit under her mate's skillful mouth, though hers was just as good. Katerina knew how Terra liked it. Every throbbing point she could press with her tongue to make her sucking feel harder, how fast and how deep she loved it. She had learned in their years together how to slow her breath right down so she could suck for as long as needed, enjoying Terra's happy moans.

When the wisp felt that Kyra was worried about hurting it, only then did it calm slightly. Kytara smiled and nodded.
"Showing worry about harming the spirit is good, it shows that you have a gentle heart Kyra. Come with me."
Taking Kyra's hand, she walked Kyra toward the pool where the pups were learning to swim and playing around. Sitting on a tree trunk with her niece the spirit bounced around happily as it warmed noticeably from the sight of the pups having fun. The warm feelings that Kyra had toward the pups was also helping her as a soft child-like voice echoed in Kyra's mind.
'Fun.'
The child's voice was that of a female, no older than ten years old. Still very much an infant in the Lycan and Vampire world.

Kytara frowned as she too heard the voice.
"She's just a pup..."
She said sadly, knowing that this spirit was a child when she passed. However, the bonus to this was now that they knew the spirit was a female pup, it would narrow down what could possibly make the spirit more comfortable. Now it just depended on how Kyra acted, and what she did.

----------------------------------

Terra moaned as her mate worked that talented mouth of hers as well as her well versed tongue. Working her hips to fuck Kat's throat and mouth while working her tongue in and out of Kat's folds before slipping a wet middle finger into Kat's ass while she worked her tongue inside of Kat's pussy. Pulling her head free as she moaned, some pre-cum dripping onto Kat's tongue.
"Fuck baby...Sit up."
She said as she was loosing to the pleasure. Moving around she laid herself between Kat's legs and shoved her cock balls deep inside of Kat's pussy.
"Your mouth is too good love."
She said as she started thrusting fast. This was supposed to be a quickie...sorta.

Kat buckled as Terra fingered her ass, knowing her weak point, and doubled her efforts to milk Terra with her mouth. When she was told to sit up she did, catching her breath but groaning.

"I wasn't done with you yet," she sighed then grinned, "only for you baby it is. Only for you."

She moaned then, suddenly speared and filled, Terra wasting no time to find a quick pace. Kat started to pant. She couldn't hold on much longer at this pace, not after Terra had worked her tongue magic.

~

Kyra was realived to feel the wisp warm and followed her aunt, seeing the pups learning to swim and giggling, "Aww Auntie, look at them go."

They sat down on a stump for a moment and watched, and Kyra noticed the spirit warm considerably until a little voice spoke inside her head. Kyra jumped in surprise, then looked at the spirit floating over her shoulder and felt the same sadness her aunt felt. No pup that young deserved to pass away. Her life had barely started.

"You think its fun too?" she asked softly, holding a hand up towards the spirit but not forcing her touch. She looked back to the pool and noticed one pup splitting off from the rest, struggling her tiny little legs to get to the edge. she was ginger in color, but smaller than the other pups, and the pack mothers watching over the pups were busy trying to round up the others. Without a second thought Kyra got up and slide into the pool with her clothes on, swimming to the pup and putting a hand under her belly to help her keep afloat as she turned her back to the group.

"Cmon little one. Back with your friends okay? Its not safe alone in the water."

She got the little ginger pup to one of the pack mothers who sighed in relief, "Thank you. We are one adult short today, and trying to keep them all together isn't easy."

"Well...I can help?"
"Would you? But your clothes!"
"Its alright. They'll dry. What can I do?"
"Help us get them across the pool? We start with swimming from one side to the other. That'll be enough for the day."
"Sure."
She smiled at the spirit on her shoulder then started to help them get each pup to swim across, one by one. Within half an hour all the pups were up in the grass wet and running around playing with each other, all excited and triumphant. The pack mothers thanked her and ushered the pups away back to the nursery for snack time before their parents would come grab them. Kyra plopped back down beside her aunt, wet but grinning.
"Weren't they the cutest? What did you think of the pups little spirit?"
She felt better calling her little, knowing she was only a young girl.

Terra was panting and groaning as she continued jack hammering her hips against Kat's slick folds. Easily sliding in and out of her thanks to how aroused her mate was. Lacing her hands with Kat's as she kissed her mate deeply. This rapid pace went on for a few minutes till Terra pulled her head back and hissed as she voiced her need to cum. Two short thrusts later, and she was locking her hips to Kat's, spilling her seed deep inside of her mate's womb and filling her to the brim. Terra's hips bucking violently from the force of her release. Staying inside of her lover, Terra stroked Kat's cheek and smiled.
"Been a while since we got this crazy."
She said with a giggle.

-------------

The spirit was more than happy to be in the water and playing with the pups. Skipping just above the water and giving the pups something white and shiny to follow so that they were a bit more focused. When it came time to get out of the water, the spirit rested on Kyra's shoulder till they were out of the water, then used a small burst of energy to instantly dry Kyra so that she wouldn't get too cold sitting in soaking wet clothing. Once the clothing was dry, the wisp settled on Kyra's shoulder and buzzed for a bit before bouncing off of the shoulder and landing on Kyra's lap.
'Isabella. My name is Isabella. My parent's and I were the family attacked by the rogue Hounds. We were the vampires who died in the first attack. I've seen more souls. Lycan's coming in yesterday.'

Kyra blinked in surprise as the little spirit dropped into her lap, thankful for being dry. She cupped the white and shiny wisp in her hands and smiled, listening. She lost her smile though as she learned how this poor infant passed.

“I’m so sorry Isabella. You should have never been hurt like that. Are your at least with your parents?”

Kyra showed clear concern. A pup, even a vampire infant, shouldn’t be without their parents. She looked to her aunt, her eyes a little watery then made a sad sound, “more rogue hounds hurt our pack yesterday. They attacked innocents again. I want to learn to heal people so I can help my pack stop them before they cause more pain.”

She meant it. It’s why she had volunteered. She wanted to help.

~

Kat cried out as she too orgasmed, digging her nails into Terra’s back as they buckled into each other madly, until finally collapsing, spent and sated.

“Mmm but I like when your crazy,” Katerina giggled then sighed, “we really haven’t. I love you baby.”

Isabella slowly took on a small girls form, long chocolate brown hair with gorgeous green eyes. She was wearing a white sun dress at the moment and stood no taller than Kyra's hip. Sitting on her lap she smiled up at Kyra. She was a tad transparent showing she didn't have the strength in her to be a full form like Kytara but she had enough to show what she used to look like.
"Yes. My parents are with me. We're happy here. Safe. But there are going to be more coming here...many more. We know this. Young and old, male and female. Lycan and Vampire. Healers are going to be in high demand...but it will come at a price...here."
She said as she tapped Kyra's heart then her forehead.

"You will loose loved ones. Some you cannot save no matter how strong you are. You will see them pass, they may be in your arms when they do. All healers experience this more than once. Are you ready for that Kyra? Are you ready to accept the death's of those whom you can't save and still carry on to those that you can no matter how much it hurts? Can you see past the internal blame that will come with those losses and see the good you're doing by saving others?"

While young, all spirits are gifted with this knowledge when death claims them. The knowledge that life isn't fair nor is war. Death comes for everyone and it's just a matter of how and when.

---------------------------

Terra smiled at her lover and kissed her lips softly.
"Well we'll have plenty of time to work on that now won't we?"

Kyra was taken aback. Not by her form, she looked like a beautiful little girl. But by her knowledge. And the dark tones she was speaking of. Kyra hadn’t thought about losing people, she was still young and in her eighteen years this was the first time she had seen the starting phases of war. Growing up she just assumed her parents would always be there, and even in training she believed if she did well enough she could protect her mother’s from any harm.

But this spirit was telling her otherwise. Being a healer didn’t mean saving everyone. She looked to her aunt, to the spirit that once was alive. She hadn’t made it. But she had been a healer too. Was this a path she could stomach? Could she watch loved ones truly die in her arms and not be haunted for life?

The true answer was no. If Jayden or Thia or her uncle past she’d be devesataed. And if she lost one of her mothers...she’d be lost. Kyra wasn’t sure she could handle losing a parent. They were just so close.

She looked at Isabella and sighed, looking upset, “I don’t know if I can accept those I love dying and not feel shattered. The reason I thought of becoming a healer was my inability to kill. To watch people die and do nothing...what point is there then?”

~

Kat grinned, kissing her cheek, “Hell yes.”

Angel and Sonya walked over as Sonya smiled at Isabella.
"The point of healing is to save those that you can while learning from the mistakes of those you couldn't...or honoring those you couldn't by continuing on the fight."
She said as Isabella hopped off of Kyra's lap and ran over to Sonya. Sonya showed the first signs of pain as she crouched down and Angel used some of her own energy to give Isabella a solid body. Hugging the young female Sonya actually showed her tears as she stroked the back of the girls head and held her close. Angel walked over to Kyra and kept her back to Sonya.
"Isabella was Sonya's niece. Her sister and brother in law were the vampires who were killed. So this is a very personal war for her but she's able to ignore the need for revenge by fighting to protect those still living. I have lost...a lot of loved ones. Either not being there because of missions or just getting to them too late. It hurts, it sucks, and it will ring in your mind but you need to continue on and focus on those you can save."

Angel looked at Kytara who nodded.
"This is a war baby. Its not going to be nice no matter what role you take. However, healing some is better than just sitting on the side lines and watching countless perish. That's why healers do what they do."
Sonya stroked Isabella's cheek and wiped her eyes as she kissed Isabella's forehead while whispering to her in a strange language. Isabella nodded and giggled as she spun around in her sun dress before looking at Sonya with a sad smile, giving her yet another hug before looking at Kyra and waving, slowly fading away till she was gone. Sonya just lifted her mask and walked away to try and calm down while Angel smiled.

"She needs rest. She's still a young spirit. Now. If you're serious about healing...meet me here tomorrow morning, nine in the morning. If not, then you'll be joining the civilians and staying out of the way. This is war Kyra, you're going to be facing a lot of difficult choices. Time to grow up."
With that Angel also walked off, chasing after Sonya to give her some comfort.

Kyra looked up at the approaching footsteps. She was more comforted seeing Angel then Sonya right now. She didn’t need another beating. Hastily she rubbed her eyes so the tears receded and felt Isabella climb off her lap. She watched, unspeaking, till Angel was finished. Everyone lately was talking down to her, making her feel more and more juvenile and less like the adult she had been told she was becoming. It was an ego hit she was swallowing, but it was also starting to chip away at her confidence. What business did she have in this war? If she was just a pup she shouldn’t be fighting battles. She was no less innocent then the civilians. Maybe that’s what they were getting at, why the Shade had given her her aunt back, and pushed her so hard. They were showing her she didn’t belong in this fight or this war.

She only looked up in time to see Isabella waving, not having watched the private moment between the girl and Sonya. She waved back, but with a sadness in her eyes. She looked to Angel and felt the challenge, but she didn’t know the right choice anymore. So she just nodded, silently and watched her leave.

“I think I wanna be alone now auntie,” she whispered, staring out over the pool, “is that alright?”

She waited till her aunt faded then put the shard out beside her on the stump where it wasn’t touching her and just watched the waters. A week ago she had been eager to turn eighteen and be treated like an adult. But she was eighteen now, and nothing had changed. She was still a pup in everyone’s eyes. And pups had no place in war.

She turned her eyes to the shard and sighed, “was this why you gave me my aunt back? To show me where I’m heading if I try?”

She looked back to the water and tucked her knees under her chin. She thought she had gotten life right. She strived to achieve, to learn, to grow. She ignored dating, and relationships, and most silly ventures that would distract her. Jayden has been her only “real” relationship, and they had been preteens. She didn’t party, she helped her family, and she always tried to be kind. And what had it given her when she turned eighteen? A whole lot of nothing.

~

Kat was getting dressed and noticed their daughter through the poolhouse window.

“Hey babe? Why is Kyra alone and staring at the pool? I left her with Kytara.”

Terra had just put her shorts back on when she looked out of the window with her mate then they both spotted the Queen of the vampires just pop up beside Kyra with a soft smile. She was wearing a black spaghetti strapped tank top with a pair of tight black skinny jeans and some black flats. Looking down at the small pup she crouched in front of Kyra and took rested her hands on the female's hands.
"I gave your aunt to you to show you that even with the best intentions...war is unkind. Unfortunately in war, it forces one to grow up quickly. Just because you're eighteen doesn't make you an adult. Seeing past your self and seeing the needs of others, even when it's hard for you to accept them. That's part of being an adult. Still, these worries and doubts you're having shows that you are getting there."

Standing up she smiled and offered a hand to the pup.
"Come. Walk with me. Tell me what troubles you and...'vent' as you call it. I'm a good listener. Don't think of me as a Queen today. Just someone willing to listen."
She said as she smiled and helped Kyra to her feet then motioned to the woods.
"If I recal, the woods is a place where you like to go no?"

Kat jumped a bit and looked at Terra, wanting to know if this was safe or if she needed to go out. But Kyra didn't look afraid, just alarmed at her appearance.

"What do you think they are talking about love?"

Outside Kyra had also jumped at the sudden presence of the queen, then quickly dropped her feet off the stump to sit more politely. She blushed as she was spoken to, revealing her worries had been overheard. "You heard that then? I...didn't think anyone was listening..."

She looked up then took her hand and stood, turning to grab the shard and pocket it, "A-alright."

She hadn't expected the nicety, or the offer to listen. It was kind and generous of her. She nodded to the woods, awkwardly smiling, "It is. Mama played hide and seek with me when I was young and I memorized every tree, rock, and bush. Lately its where I practice my hobby and escape my worries for a bit. I can show you the cleanest path, so your not trudging through mud or bush."

Terra smiled at her mate.
"Babe, I think it's just some counseling really. Let's let her be. If she wants to tell us when she's done, then she will. I need to get back to training, you go spend some time with your brother or go rest."
She said as she smiled and kissed her mate before exiting the pool house to go back to the training grounds.

Selene walked with Kyra and as they got to the woods Selene giggled at the mention of the clean path.
"Just because I'm a Queen doesn't mean I don't like getting a little dirty my dear. We can walk anywhere you like."
She said as she pulled her flats off and as she stepped on the grass she smiled. The grass and thick brush seeming to move out of her way like welcoming a royal.
"I'm a spirit user remember. All manner of life has a spirit."
She said as she ran her hand along a dying tree, which began to strengthen itself like someone had just breathed new life into it.

"Truly mastering your element allows you to borrow life energy from things around you. Not just from yourself or willing spirits, but from plants, animals, even water and forming that into a healing energy. Just remember to give it back when you're done."
She said as she walked with Kyra through the woods and just listened to her. Letting her voice her worries and concerns.

Kat nodded, kissing her mate goodbye and watching her go.

Kyra followed Selene to the edge of the woods then paused.

“Wow,” she commented, staring at the tree, “you can really do all that? What can you not do?!”

She hurried to catch up with the queen, starting to explain her worries and fears for where her future would take her.

“I just feel like I won’t be able to save people. That I won’t be enough.”

Selene kept her hands behind her except for random healing of dying trees or bushes. Stopping at a lake she looked at the pup and smiled.
"With all due respect my dear but you are painfully naive if you believe that as a healer, you can save everyone. You can't. Even I can't. I learned a long time ago that it's impossible to save everyone. All I can do is work hard and save those that I can and pray that those I couldn't save, are happy in the goddess's arms. Being a healer is a rewarding duty, but also a painful one. Ten times harder than that of a soldier. Soldier's take lives. Healers save them. Soldiers only duty is to protect themselves and their home. Healers protect their squad, their home and themselves...as well as healing those around them...it also makes you the prime target to your enemies as you are the one keeping your team alive. Without you, your team will perish. Unfortunately, there is no easy choice here love. Just whatever feels right."

Sitting down on a stone she sighed.
"You can become a warrior, kill those who threaten your home and have nightmares of those who's lives you've taken and those you've lost in the process of a war. You can be a healer and save lives while regretting those you haven't or couldn't or you can sit in the comfort of your home and watch as bodies are pouring in from the horrors of war. Either way...it's a horrid situation that we find ourselves in. War is ugly, war is chaos, but it will continue until those who are causing it are eliminated and people will die on all sides. Just like little Isabella and her family."
She said as she kept looking out at the lake.

"Being in a position of power like myself or Alex...it is a nightmare. Thousands of people begging for redemption and revenge for those lost, but having to remain calm and collected...cold even as you need to keep everyone in order. Seeing those faces of the innocents lost. Dealing with my Shade who have lost family and blood thirsty for revenge...or in Alex's case, terrified that the peace he's worked so hard for is about to crumble. The best we can do is take a breath and push through. No one will judge you for what you decide and while Sonya was cruel to you and Angel was harsh, they did it to show you that the hell you're trying to step into is no laughing matter and your prior thoughts about yourself are not important simply because you are far from ready for the war that is at our doorstep. Your Mama, Sonya and her team were born into war. War is normal to them. You were born in a time of peace and ease. War is foreign to you, death is new. With the coming days, death will become a normal occurrence and they're trying to get you ready for it."

Patting the stone beside her she smiled sadly.
"There will be more cases like Isabella and her family, or the Lycan's that were lost in this recent attack. How you act is up to you. Will you add to the defense or take a step back and let those who can handle it do their part? Either way, no one will hold it against you and I'm sure it will make your mother's rest easier to know you're out of harms way...but you need to keep in mind. Your mama is a Hound. She will be on the front lines like Sonya and Angel doing her duty to defend her home and her family."

Kyra sat down on the stone beside the Queen and looked out to the lake too, silent and in thought. She just sat there listening and thinking, her face stone cold. She had gotten her mother’s, Terra’s, thinking face, that stone cold calm look about her.

Then she looked to the Queen, her eyes sad, “What Angel said...it felt like she was warning me I’d lose my loved ones. I already lost my aunt. All I have is my mothers and my uncle. You have to understand, I wasn’t just born in peace. I was born into this pack. Lycans don’t have spirit users, we can’t visit the dead after their gone.”

She took a shaky breath, “There’s likely a certain peace to that, seeing them happy and safe in the afterlife. But when my people go we just disappear forever. I can’t lose my family forever. If Mama dies, my mom will be quick to follow. She couldn’t handle that loss. At least that’s what my uncle says. And I...I don’t know what I’d do without them. I...I can’t stand to think of having her blood on my hands, watching her die in my arms. The image alone now haunts me. But if I do nothing, she could still die...”

She looked out to the lake and her voice wavered, “Either way I aid in losing my parents. So what choice do I make when I hate both outcomes? When either way there leaves blood on my hands and guilt in my heart?”

She needed guidance. She knew her mother’s would prefer her far from the front lines. But she also knew she couldn’t stand idle and watch her pack crumble. But both choices would leave her a shell of herself, the blood of innocents she couldn’t save on her hands.

Selene looked at Kyra and placed her hand on the pups hand.
"No one said this would be easy. It's not. Nothing about war is simple and easy. In the end, it comes down to how you feel and what you're willing to give up. You say that my Shade...Sonya in particular is a bitch. What do you think made her that way? You don't live for seven hundred years, several wars and come out like a ray of sun shine. She's a sweetheart...but she also knows that when it comes to war, being nice isn't what's needed. Being honest and being harsh is, because that's how war is. That is the one thing no one realizes about war. It is brutally honest. You will see just what someone is capable of in war time. What they will do when their back is against the wall. Where so many claim they would fight to the death...you'll see how many tuck tail and run. Sonya like all my other Shade. They will hold to their word of fighting to the last member. As will your mama."

Standing up Selene looked out.
"It's late my dear. Go home. Get some rest and speak with your family. You have no time limit of course. If you wish to heal, then speak with Angel when you're ready. If not, then just brace yourself and try to keep those who don't fight from getting out of hand."
Selene walked Kyra back to the grass line of her Pack mansion before giving her a kiss on her cheek and porting away. No more words were needed, Kyra just needed to think.

Terra had just got done with her training when she saw Kyra coming out of the woods with Selene. When the Queen was gone, Terra walked over to her pup.
"Are you alright honey?"

Kyra looked up when she heard her mother's voice. She had been studying a blade of grass, lost in thought. Selene had given her plenty to digest and think about. But it had felt good to vent. And hear some truth in a gentler voice than some had been speaking to her.

"Hey Mama," she greeted her with a big hug, holding to her tight, "I...don't know anymore. I don't feel like I know anything anymore. I just wish there were easy right answers."

Kat saw them hugging and stepped out of the mansion and walked towards them, catching a clip of what she said, "Hey you two. How about we get out of here and go for dinner? Talk just the three of us. Terra? How's Italian sound?"

Kyra perked a little, loving Italian. And it would be good to get them alone with her. Whenever she was in a rough spot she knew she could talk to her parents and it helped. And her parents knew that too. Kat grinned, "Italian it is. Kyra why don't you drive us down to the restaurant. Let your Mama get changed into some clean clothes. Maybe you too."

She whisked her family inside, got them cleaned up and soon they were on the road, Kyra driving, and explaining her day, including her talk with Selene. She was clearly on the fence.

"I just...I feel like people will get hurt whether I help or not now. I don't know what to chose."
