Things started to get into routine. Kat had to get used to not seeing Terra every moment she could, although she spent a fair portion of her time gazing out the back window while studying or reading a book, watching her soon to be mate work. The little work she did have now was mostly filing away books and keeping the library she so loved cleaned in her wing, or allowing an open ear to pups wishing to talk in her study. A few were the trainees, some not sure they could do this as much as their peers could. Others just average wolves needing a therapy session to get it all off their tongue. But nothing stressful. Alex was making sure Kat never felt like she was pushing it, for the health of her and the pup.
It was becoming more and more clear she was pregnant too. She wasn’t showing, although she would soon with the speedier pregnancy, but mostly her waist had just smoothed out, showing the beginning signs of growth, and her appetite had nearly tripled. Moreso her hormones were all over the place, and Terra found her some nights having odd mood swings, and many nights waking up at odd hours craving her lover. Her remade room felt bigger than before too, a wall torn down into one of the empty guest rooms to give them more space and a small kitchenette, along with a door put in to the room next which had been outfitted as their nursery. Her study still sat on the other side of their bedroom. The nursery was beautiful, decorated in neutral colours until the sex of their pup would be known, but it was still a wonderful gift from Alex.
Days after it was revealed Kat was sitting inside the room admiring it and eating her lunch, not sure where Terra was when Alex appeared in the open doorway.
“Tonight?” She grinned, touching her stomach and her smile grew, “about time brother.”
They got her ready, bathed, oiled and dressed. She got her hair down too, curled and piled behind her head in an elegant regal look. Her make up was done more neautral this time, though she still outlined her eyes with dark kohl and made her lashes thick, making them pop. Then she waited nervously in her room, wondering where it was to take place.
“When do you tell me where I’m going?” She asked Alex who was with her, “or will you just lead me there? I’ve never been to one of these Alex. You haven’t mated and your my only sibling. What am I suppose to expect?”
She had read books on their history and about their rituals but reading was different than experiencing. Terra had taught her that.
