Terra glanced over at Kat and was about to speak when Alex came outside speaking with someone. That someone was dressed in all black, the armor on their chest, shoulders, thighs and shins was made of tough leather and they looked like something straight out of a medieval renaissance festival. When this person turned their head, Terra felt the hairs on the back of her neck raise as she instinctively moved in front of Kat. The woman walked over and while most of her face was covered by a matching black leather half mask and they the top and sides of her head was covered by a black hood, her eyes were strikingly blue. Like crystallized ice, but it was clear to both Terra and Kat that she was blind due to the fact that she wasn't looking directly at them and angled her head in a way that she could hear them clearly. Alex walked over and gave a small smile.
"Katerina, Terra. This is Sonya. She's a Shade Ambassador from the Blood Ruby Coven."
The Blood Ruby coven was the largest and most powerful vampire Coven on this side of the earth. Their numbers were just under one thousand, spread across several states and all answering to one Queen with absolute obedience. The kind of obedience that an Alpha could only dream about simply because vampire laws were very strict and Shade soldiers carried out punishment for breaking those laws with vicious brutality. Shade warriors answered to the Queen and no one else. A private death squad back in the old days, now they were a little more tamed. Sonya looked in Kat's general direction and closed her eyes, giving a slight bow of her head before opening her eyes.
"Congratulations on your child."
Alex looked a little confused as he hadn't mentioned anything about a pup yet.
"How'd you know?"
"Being born blind, my senses are very high compared to my fellow Shade. I can sense the new life growing, it will be a very healthy pup."
While no one could see her face, the slight lift by her eyes showed she was smiling before looking at Alex.
"I simply came to see how your pack was doing and to re-sign our peace treaty. Now that my task is complete. Good day."
With that a black swirl of mist surrounded Sonya before she was gone from them. Nothing remained, not her scent or even a trace of her.
"I hate it when they do that."
Bear said as he walked over and sighed. Alex nodded then explained that the Coven and his pack had a strong peace treaty that had been going since before he became Alpha and every fifty years they re-new it if no incidents have happened simply to keep the peace.
