“ jeez hold on...” taking her hand, “ so you never answered if I ever asked, but do you think we’re friends, at least maybe I do. We should really hang out more too if your ever bored or anything..you don’t want me to at least walk you home again since it even looks like we’re ecen close then...” letting go as he wondered if she would just say something or ignore and continuing to walk.
 
“ jeez that girl...” giving a sigh as he turned to walk off then and just do his own thing at least for now of course until he would see her and even trying this time not to directly do anything to her.
 
The next time they saw each other was when they both walked into the school. She caught his eye, blushed a deep red and looked away. Then something unusual happened. Haku found his way blocked by, well not exactly a "familiar" face, but at least one he could recognize.

It was Kushina Hoshimiya. She was captain of the school's kendo team, and was quite the serious captain at that. She stood in front of him, her hands on the top of her wooden practice sword, the end of which was planted on the ground. She just stared right into his eyes.
 
Glancing around and seeing her as he looked back at him he quickly looked away with a sigh wondering what to even do as she couldn’t even see them even as small friends, his body suddenly stopping as he felt a bigger aura before turning to see a girl in a uniform but with sword giving it away that she either had to even be the captain or be a high ranked sword fighter then as he just stopped and stared at her for a moment before clearing his throat and deciding then to probably make the big mistake of just try to walk past her as he couldn’t really tell that the girl was looking at him and not expecting someone else behind him.
 
When he attempted to walk past her she stopped him with her sword.
Kushina-Haku-san!
The way she spoke radiated confidence, leadership and pride. It was clear she was one to speak her mind and fight for what was on it. She also had a slightly lower pitch to her voice. If she tried she could probably do a pretty good male voice.
Kushina-My name is Kushina Hoshimiya. I've been..... observing you for a while now and have decided after witnessing by chance certain events to speak to you.
Now that she spoke a bit more, she sounded..... a little nervous? She didn't carry herself as the type to GET nervous. She was even blushing a little bit.
Kushina-I, Kushina Hoshimiya, would be honored if i could become your girlfriend.
The crowd that had formed around them gasped, whispering among themselves.
 
He stopped, almost falling back in surprise as he froze again thinking that it would have been odd that he would have even accidentally done something before standing straighter now with his arms to his sides listening. “ w-woah!! Wait what?!” Of course being surprised as total hell by it, “ what? I didn’t even do anything or I don’t even stand out for anyone to notice me like that!” Feeling embarrassed as hell as he didn’t really know what to say but the obvious. “ w-what’s special about me though? I mean I don’t hate it but I’m off guard like hell to know the why about this..”
 
Kushina-It isn't obvious? You are a handsome and kind man. You try to help others when you can, and you don't put on fronts like many other people do. I find these and other qualities attractive in a person. So i would like to..... please don't make me repeat it.
She looked away and blushed more now, inciting the crowd to whisper about how she didn't seem like someone to do that.
 
It was just because he was lucky that no one really cared about him to be the person he was, he didn’t have to worry about anyone else so he was never really mad or aggressive to anyone and he was already good in a lot of things that he could help people but having no chance to really be able to do it at all. “ w-well would it be fine if I at least thought about it? It was so sudden of course..” hoping she would understand that a bit then as he calmed down hoping that the other girl didn’t come through and see that someone just asked him out.
 
Kushina-Ah, yes of course. Ahem. Naturally. I'll wait for your answer then
She blushed and covered her mouth with her fist as she looked away from him a bit. She bowed to him and then left, the crowd dispersing afterward. Well, everyone but one particular cat girl.
 
“ jeez...hope she doesn’t even find out, not like she would care anyway.” Not helping but to smirk a bit at the idea that he had the possibility of even completely abandoning the cat girl if he gave the answer to kushina but not noticing that she was already right there somewhere in the crowd and saw everything. “ yeah like she would even care anyway...” saying it to himself as he could be heard and only person knowing what he was talking about of course as haku walked off then.
 
The boy looked over at yuri, seeing that her aura felt different and a bit heavier towards him as he could tell then that she took him out of her mind completely and the highest change that she didn’t even know and ignored him at all. When lunch came he followed a bit behind, taking a spot a few hundred feet away that he could see her and possibly she could do the same but of course just eating on his own then.
 
Haku finally made it out of the class as he walked out with a stretch which he always mostly did of course, seeing weirdly that kushina even had a class near him but at least she didn’t notice him which gave him a bit of time to think about either abandoning or still trying then for yuri to take him as a friend at least for now. Making it outside he looked around with a sigh as they already seemed to have disappeared though probably just her being the girl to avoid him still like he had eventually figured out.
 
Haku soon continued to walk making it to the small edge of the shopping and restaurant district with a log street full of stores and restaurants, though with some restaurants large enough to be on their own as he passed by glancing to one of the restaurants beside him to be able to see a glimpse of the cat girl walking around inside the restaurant with some people as it was such an odd and lucky time then for the moment. With that he would decide then to see if he could get any information from her simply by sitting close enough where he could hear what she was saying but also not be noticed by her at least for a bit of time. Walking in he got a table for himself as he looked at the menu before decidig then on something.
 
She and her friends all got some form of dessert, Yuri getting a simple sundae. One of her friends, a girl named Masami, sparked a conversation.
Masami-So, anyone else see that big scene this morning?

Another of her friends, her name was Shina, responded first.
Shina-Scene? Did something happen? Ah, there wasn't another fight was there? Was it that Kur-oh.... uhm, sorry Inu-chan.
Inu-chan referred to Inuka Yoshimatsu, though being a wolf girl, most people just stuck with "Inu". She was a rough tomboy, so she liked the nickname. Her brother however was known as the school troublemaker.
Inu-It's fine, i know Kuro-chan is a pain in the ass. But i don't know what happened either, what's up Masa?

Inu-You mean Kushina!? Did she get into a big fight? Did a gang of thugs show up and she stood at the school gate to protect her classmates and took them down one by one?!
Masami-Inu-chan, you're..... starting to drool.

She wiped her mouth and blushed as Masami continued.
Masami-She did a public love confession.
Shina-waaaaah, no way. that'd be way to embarrassing to even try for me.
Inu-aaaaaaand bored.
Masami-She confessed her love to Ha-ku-san
At that Yuri started to choke and cough
Shina-Yuri-chan, are you ok!?
She pat her back and tried helping, then Yuri caught her breath.
"Ahem. I don't see how this is news"
Inu-uh huuuuuh. Not at all. Don't think it's not obvious how you've been ignoring him again.
"Inya? Why wouldn't i ignore him? It's not like we're dating or anything"
Masami-Nobody mentioned dating
"EVERYONE DID!" She started eating her ice cream rapidly and then dropped her spoon onto the table

He leaned back and listened to the conversation then, taking a good look at her friends of course which were actually all equally damn hot for half of them to not be half cat girls and of course the other half. He couldn’t help but smirk and cover his mouth to hide a laugh, though there had to be the fact that her being super surprised meant she cared about the problem it seemed to pose on the surface for her that someone popular confessed to him than if she tried to ignore him her face wouldn’t have changed to sheer shock and surprise. Soon he got his order, having something small of course as he put up his hood and continued to listen wondering if hopefully any of the other girls would even ask or tell each other their own opinions of him.
 
Masami-That reminds me, i saw you with Haku-san the other day. What was that all about?
"Eh? We just had cleaning duty, that's it. It was getting late so he... just walked me home."
Inu-You could've just called me and i'd have come. Honestly i don't trust that creep. He's so..... weird.
Shina-That's not nice to say about someone.

Masami-It's perfectly healthy for a boy to look at a girl. Boys stare at me all the time.

At that Yuri actually hissed.
Masami-see? It's better to just be rejected than to know you're someone's backup.
Shina-I hope Kushina-san didn't cry.
Inu-no waaaay. She's way too badass to do that. I'll bet she went to her family's dojo and picked out which sword would cut his head off the cleanest
Someone pushed their dessert away from them after hearing that.
 
“ jeez at least someone sort of had my back, it was sudden what the hell was I supposed to do, and knowing her she didn’t do that to just anyone so it wouldn’t have been fair to reject her like that. Psshh I’d say she would do that if I actually did reject her like that...” softly talking to himself after hearing what they said. “ they really don’t know the struggles of what’s its like to be a guy dating, you don’t have to be a perv all the damn time to have a chance...” rolling his eyes as haku felt really annoyed they would see him as a creep who didn’t really do anything when really he was doing the best thing he should have and did. Soon he finished the small chocolate cake he had in front of him deciding to still listen in but debating whether to leave now or not.
 
"Yeah, he is pretty weird. And he's stupid. Like, really stupid. But..... he is nice, and he means well. So, it's not like he's a bad guy"

With that haku tilted his head a bit not helping but to grin to stop a laugh as he understood now that her friends were more of the weird one and not even wanting her to have regular guy friends or even have the possibility of dating one at all. “ that’s what makes it fun and cute, so I’m not giving that up...” still talking to himself but pretending of course like he was in the conversation and actually replying as the boy still leaned back and just watched the weirdness.
 
The manager ended up coming over and lecturing them, mostly Inuka. They all calmed down and then finished their desserts. They paid and then left together, talking about more normal things by then.
