What's Your Username Mean?

I just love space and Saturn is my favorite planet! I love the moon, too, and I feel like I'll always be a child of all things universe, galaxies, and starbursts. Funny though, the space is not a usual plot for my RPs. I love learning about them, though! So... there you go. Saturn Moonchild. :)

Mine means I hate coming up with aliases so I picked a random minor character I don't particularly care about from an old computer game I love and pilfered his name. It's cool, he was kind of a jerk.

Mines from the tool/weapon 'billhook' (which there's an insane amount of regional variation to over here). But I like a little bit of clever word play and realised if you separated it, it would look like an actual name, that I could then use as Bill or Billie as the mood took me.

MY NAME ISN'T A NARUTO REFERENCE!

IT'S ALSO NOT A GHIBLI REFERENCE!

The word Haku simply means "white" in japanese, and it refers to snow as i like the cold and snow and such things.
The 81 refers to the number of squares on a Shogi board, which is Japanese chess.

The underscore means nothing. It is filler.

My username is random, I thought about a garlic creamy sauce I always made with mayonaise, cilantro and garlic, all blend in a blender, I love it so much, so, I thought "Why not to put something delicious in my username?"

Nothing to do with finding the remnants of a kebab on your pillow after a night out then?

Usually for my usernames, I like to think of crazy combinations of adjectives and nouns. For example, when I was younger, I really liked the username "SleepyDuck". I also used "KarateOctopus", which is more of a noun/noun comhination but whatevs. For this site, I wanted something cute following this formula, so I went with "KawaiiApple"!

Mine's based on an old style of cool-but-uncomfortable boot

It means 'determined.' And I was a behavioral modification specialist for dogs and horses. It's appropriate for me in every way.
"having or showing tenacity and grim persistence."
"success required dogged determination"

synonyms: tenacious, determined, resolute, resolved, purposeful, persistent, persevering, single-minded, tireless;

It's defined in the first paragraph of my request thread, because it's such a cool, beautiful word I felt more people needed to know it.

To save you a click, it's the acquisition of knowledge through act, as opposed to theory. Doing vs reading about.

My username is a lazy play on words, and I feel super-ashamed coming after a great name like Praxis. (Essentially -- my name is Angela, I enjoy dark/degrading/falling-from-grace plots, falling angel imagery... FallingAngela. I Am Not That Clever.)

I originally made mine way back when I first started middle school. I had 2 accounts on an old site that was virtually dead, even back then. There were maybe 10 active users. I guess you could say I was running an experiment with 2 different types of personality. Suffice to say the other account didnt due to well, and while it didnt get banned it was universally hated. The other one with the same name I'm using did significantly better and it just kind of stuck from then on.

It's something clever that I came up with that I thought might carry a certain mystery that would allow me the flexibility to portray a wide array of roles. I was probably wrong. All that it's gotten me is obscurity. :p

Aww! Don't be ashamed. I'm just a smug bitch who heard it in a movie.

I used to play with kaleidoscopes when I was a kid, never knowing their real name. I learned the name as an adult, and found it as beautiful as the random color-scapes you see in them. Whenever I feel down, I think of playing with kaleidoscopes while I pretended to be a fearless pirate on the high seas. They are a gateway, I guess, to something beautiful and unique. :)

Asteroid B-612 is one found in The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. It's the one the little prince himself is from. It's one of my favourite literary works for many reasons.

"It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye."

That's the most typical quote people get from it, but people quote that for a reason. It's well-written.

In my dreams, I've always noticed I've had a small amount of control over the people around me and what happens next. Though I can never remember to take full control and end up believing the fantasy before my eyes. One night I found myself turned around facing a girl that felt... out of place. She was smiling at me. And I found myself asking, "What's my name?"

She tilted her head and looked at me like I asked a silly question. "It's Renin." She said, as if also saying, "What else would it be?"

It stood out so clearly to me when I woke up... It stuck.

Fentanyl is a synthetic opiate pain reliever or used with other medicines for anesthesia. Working in the medical field, I give it regularly. Unfortunately, it's also an incredibly abused drug that gets a bad reputation on the streets so a lot of people think I'm a junkie - but i'm not, I promise haha.

Anyway, I chose the name because,

A) It's a cool sounding drug.

B) I'm pretty sure most of us are here to get our jollies off however that may happen, and Fentanyl just happens to make you feel good. WINK WINK.

It's not my typical handle but I enjoy the name.

I have a deep appreciation for ancient history and mythology and went with one of my favourite myths.
Mainly cos I'm super chatty but the story, though tragic, feels a bit more like my luck in most departments
Echo, an Oread from Mount Cithaeron—a favourite haunt of Zeus—was known for her garrulous nature and melodious laugh. Zeus had tasked her with distracting Hera while he indulged in his escapades.

When Hera discovered Zeus's infidelities due to his carelessness, she took her rage out on Echo, condemning her to only repeat the words spoken by others. This cruel punishment left Echo heartbroken, especially after she fell in love with the demi-god Narcissus. Moved by her plight once Narcissus perished, the gods offered her solace in the mountains, where her voice continues to echo, repeating the words of those around her.

Echo's story is a poignant tale of unrequited love and the enduring power of words. It resonates through the ages, a haunting melody of longing and the beauty and tragedy of love without hope. Echo, the mountain nymph, was doomed to endlessly repeat the words of others, sometimes their last, a fate that rendered her silent in her pursuit of the one who captured her heart...

Hey! Doc here. I was mulling about this today about the origins of my name. Dr. Nibbles was not always a doctor. At first she was a he and was a Daemon Prince of Chaos.

(Ignore the images atop) This is what his model looked like. Now If you're not familiar with Warhammer, demon prince are traditionally large creatures with big wings, wepaons and teeth. This guys was the size of my thumb nail and nibbled his way into my heart.

Some months passed and I took on the Handle Lord Nibbles... eventually turning to Mr. Nibbles for more formal places. And evenually I transitioned and wanted a more androgynous handle, but still maintaining the class true to the Dark Lord: thusly, Dr. Nibbles.

So do any of you have any intereting stories to tell? Or maybe you just want to shed the light on your name? Lets spill some beans.
Ah, what a delightful tale, Dr. Nibbles! From Daemon Prince to esteemed doctor, your journey is as enchanting as the most complex perfume, with each phase adding a new note to your identity.

As for me, my name is an ode to the fragrant whispers of Parisian air, where I craft elixirs that capture moments, emotions, and sometimes, entire lifetimes in a single breath. You see, the name I chose isn't just a label but a blend—a harmonious mix of my love for the ancient alchemists who turned simple ingredients into liquid gold, and the vibrant streets of Paris, where even the rain smells like poetry.

But my name? Oh, it's not just a name. It's a promise, a whisper of mystery that dances on the edge of your consciousness. Much like the way a perfect perfume lingers just long enough to be remembered, but never fully understood. I call myself VelvetWhispers—because, in truth, I do not just create perfumes; I weave scents into the very fabric of your being.

So, Dr. Nibbles, I tip my hat to your dark and nibbly origins. And as we both walk our unique paths—from the shadowy realms of chaos to the fragrant boulevards of Paris—may we continue to evolve, always carrying with us the essence of our true selves.

Who's next to share their story? Let's keep the beans spilling!

Baka means "stupid" in Japanese... And I mean that's what I am so it fits perfectly!

But seriously I just picked it up because it's short, sweet and a nod to tsundere-archetype which I like in and out of RP environment. My original plan was to go with "ojou-sama", but it had been already taken so I settled with this. Plus I think it is a fun word to say both in and out of context, and people have approached me with creative titles derived from it so that's even better.
