Fact: While I get that people like it, and for a variety of reasons, I just can't get into Victoriana. This includes not only the Victorian Age itself, but also the hard-line extensions of steampunk and such. I mean, like the aesthetic sometimes, but beyond that, bleah.
Fact: By the way, how old does a "movement" in art or culture have to be before it either dies or becomes part of the background. Steampunk's been around at least 10 years, maybe more. The ostensible origin, Gibson and Sterling's _The Difference Engine_, won its awards in 1990-1992, so like 20 years since the concept was popularized. Is it done yet? I mean, cyberpunk didn't last this long, though it got similarly annoying.
Fact: When do we move onto the next movement? Resurgence of art-deco pulp action science heroing?
