"I think the only single woman that's around his age is Barb..." Peedee said thinking. "I don't think I've ever really thought about how many single guys there are compared to women. Barb and Nanafua are like the only single women but for single guys there Mayor Dewey, Kofi, my dad, your dad, and Rai's dad." He counted the guys on his fingers.

"It's fine. Not like I had his name tattooed on me or anything." Alice said.
 
"Well, that we know of. There's probably more people here in Beach City, but we don't get to talk to them much," Steven noted as he was thinking. "There are some new people moving here, but since Beach City is pretty quiet, it's not that much," he added.

"Yeah, but I don't like seeing my friends be upset about it," Diego told Alice with a smile. "Hope you do find someone better," he retold her. "How was moving back in with your folks?" he asked her.
 
"That is true." Prefer said continuing to eat his sandwich as Steven's phone went off with a text.

'He's got an ear infection, going 2 pharmacy 4 antibiotics.' The text from Rai read.

"I'm not upset, I'm over it. He's an asshole and he can go take a long walk off a short dock." Alice said.
 
"It's an ear infection so Rai is going over to the pharmacy, the new one," Steven commented as he looked at the phone. "We stil have alot of new stores here and I think the people are still trying to get used to Beach City," Steven commented as he looked through it.

"Need any help for anything?" Steven texted at her.

"What are you gonna do now then?" Diego asked while he was still reorganizing books around the place.
 
"I hope he feels better." Peedee said as he started cleaning up.

'No, I'm getting pedialyte at the drugstore and baby aspirin, so I'm good. I'm not going to tell Dennis and Sadie cos they'll just come home early and it's not like I can't handle it.' Rai texted back

"I'm living with my dad and younger siblings again," Alice explained, "and I'm finishing up my senior year."
 
"Yeah though she won't tell Dennis or Sadie ebcause they'd worry and come back home and they deserve to enjoy themselves. Besides, if we need to, I can use my healing spit," Steven proclalimed with a smile as he was helping Peedee clean up. "I'll probably meet Rai back at the beach house soon," he told Peedee.

"Whacha gonna do after you graduate?" Diego asked Alice. He was aware of Rai and Steven's plan to set her up with Sour Cream.
 
"Don't you think that's a bit weird? Giving your spit to a baby?" Peedee asked.

After getting the necessary things, Rai went back to the beach house. "Mason has an ear infection." She said going in the house with the bag of her purchases in the stroller and Mason on her hip.

"Probably go into veterinary school." Alice closed her magazine. "I've always been good with animals."
 
"Well, it could be indiect, like how I fixed Connie's eyes when she drank from the juicebox that I drank from," Steven explained as he was continuing to clean up alongside Peedee.

Amethyst went over to help Rai with her things. "Steven rarely got sick as a child. It was most likely due to his half-Gem physiology, though he sometimes did. It was Greg who did most of the work," Garnet commented as she came back with a wave.

"Oh cool! Which one? The one in the bigger city here or in Keystone or even Empire City?" Diego asked her as he did note that there was a vet here, though not a busy one.
 
"You could give him a wet Willy." Peedee said jokingly as he finished up cleaning.

Rai chuckled, saying, "I got sick all the time. My dad said it was because I was so underdeveloped when I was born and my immune system sucked."

Mason saw Garnet and tried reaching out for her to hold him. "No, Mason. You have to take your medicine, then maybe Garnet will hold you." Rai said going into the kitchen and pulling out the three items from the shopping bag after placing Mason on the counter.

"Whichever that accepts me." Alice said. "Hopefully it won't be too far."
 
"All right, I'll be heading out now. Later Peedee!" Steve said as he gave his friend a hug before going out and heading back to the beach house with a smile and feeling like he'll probably need a showe after all that labor.

"Glad you got better so you can be with us," Amethyst ntoed with a smile. Garnet went over to pet Mason on the head.

"I hope you get into a good school," Diego told Alice with a smile as he wodnerd what Steven and Rai's plan for the double date was.
 
Peedee waved, saying, "see ya, Steven. Tell Rai the sandwich was delicious.

"Me too." Rai said taking a medicine dropper and giving Mason his medicine. "I was actually the last one to come home from the hospital and even then I had to have a nurse because I had sleep apnea which is a problem a lot of preemies have. Basically while I was asleep I'd just randomly stop breathing."

"Me too." Alice said. "But enough about me, how are things with Pearl?"
 
Steven waved before he began running back to the beach house. It didn't take very long for him to arrive. "Hey everyone, I;m back," Steven said as he opened the door. "How is he doing?" Steven asked Rai as he went over to her.

"They're going all right," Diego told her with a smile a she finished sorting them. "It's nice being able to talk and grow closer to someone, " Diego added with a smile as he thought about his Pearl.
 
"He just took his medicine, so in like an hour I'm going to give him baby aspirin." Rai did as she grabbed Mason's sippy cup and filled it with a pinkish red liquid from a square bottle into the sippy cup. "I'm also gonna give him pedialyte because I don't know if his fever is going to dehydrate him." She gave Mason the sippy cup.

"That's good!" Alice said before stretching and yawning.
 
"It's incredible how good you are at this," Steven comments as he looked over to Mason as gently patted him on the head while watching Mason drink. "We can also put him in for a nap," Steven suggested before he stretched. "I'm probably gonna shower soon," he stated

"Amethyst, tell Pearl that we're going to be going on a team exercise to investigate somethng together when she arrived," Garnet tell Amethyst.

"Feeling tired?" Diego asked as he went back behind the counter and was leaning on the wall.
 
"He's slept enough, if we put him down for a nap he won't sleep tonight." Rai said. "And the only reason I'm good at this is because I've helped out so much with my cousins and it's mostly common sense."

"Will do." Amethyst replied with a thumbs up.

"No it's more boredom than anything else." Alice said. "Haven't been that busy today."
 
"Yeah, but it's still pretty surprising ya know. Not everyone can do it," Steven mentioned with a smile as he looked at them. "You sure you don't want me to heal him?" Steven suggested to Rai.

"Well, yeah, but I suppose it's because it hasn't been busy all that much in general though we still do good business," Diego mentioned as he was in thought. "I can let you leave early if you want," he sggested since business was slow he only needed to be there.
 
"Yeah, I'm sure." Rai said. "I have time to make dinner so you want me to make it or still order something?"she picked Mason up and put him on the couch next to Amethyst.

"It gets busy around the start of school." Alice said. "I'm good I'll just sweep and mop."
 
"Yeah, order something. We need to go grocery shopping tomorrow," Amethyst told Steven and Rai with a smile. "I'll start making a list," Steven said as he began going to the kitchen and look through the place and began taking note of everything they need to take.

"You sure?" Diego asked as he looked around. The bookstore was pretty small for the most part and thus wasn't much to mop.
 
"Okay, it'll be later." Rai said.

"I'm back." Pearl announced as she entered the house.

"No you're not." Amethyst said pulling her back outside. "Garnet needs us."

"Steven could you put Mason on the floor so he doesn't fall off the couch?" Rai asked.
 
"Hey Pearl, how was your lunch with Diego?" Steven asked her as he pulled her in for an affectionate hug. Ever since he became aware of Pearl's intimacy, he made a point not question what she did with Diego or tease her about it so she wouldn't be uncomfortable.

"We need to investigate something, but it should not take long," Garnet clarified.

Stven nodded and put Mason down on the floor so he wouldn't fall of the couch. "Anything else?" Steven asked Rai.
 
"It was good." Pearl said before being drug out.

"Watch him, please, I still have homework." Rai said grabbing her backpack again and pulling out more homework.

Mason put the sippy cup down and picked up one of his toys, a ball. He threw it and looked at Steven.
 
"Later guys!" Steven waved to them as he saw them head out before Steven went over to Rai and gave her a kiss. He then went over to Mason and saw him throw a ball. "Wanna a play game then?" Steven said with a smile as he picked up the ball and rolled it over to Mason.
 
Mason smiled and laughed as he grabbed the ball. He threw it again toward Steven.

"I gotta send this to Dennis." Rai said taking out her phone. She quickly opened the camera app, switched it to video, and started to record.
 
Steven smiled and he went over to fetch the ball before rolling it back to Mason. "Glad he's having fun. If Amethyst was here, she'dshapeshift into a dog, but it'd probably end up freaking Mason out," Steven mentioned with a smile on his face as he kepy playing with Mason.
 
Rai stopped filming and sent the video to Dennis and Sadie along with her dad and Barb. "I don't know, Mason might just think it's awesome that she can do that." Rai said. "I mean this kid sat on my lap as I played FNAF 2 and laughed when I was jumpscared."

Mason picked up the ball and looked for somewhere else to throw it. While giggling he threw it over by the warp pad.
