Is He A Lover or A Fighter Part 2 {guitarfan2810 & WrittenFantasies}

"The soonest flight leaves in and hour and a half." She put in for two tickets and asked Jake for his information and his travel companions information.

"She's safe now. I don't know what happened. She can't talk right now. She's getting checked out and talking to the police. I'll be with her. I'll let you know where we are going and everything." He said obviously distracted by something. "I'll send a driver to pick you up." He added and hung up to be at Adri's side again.

Amy got to the airport and found her brother. She gave him a hug and took Owen. Luke got there a few minutes later. "Have you heard anything?" He asked.

Jake's heart sank when he was told 90 mins before the flight left. "Is there any cancelations on anything sooner?" He needed to he there faster.

"What? What do you mean you don't know what happened? What the hell is going on?" Jake could have thrown his phone when the guy hung up on him. He was going to punch him.

"Her agent doesn't know what happened. He just told me she was talking to police. I have no fucking idea what's going on and I'm beyond pissed that, that he won't tell me shit. Fuck!" Jake started pacing. A million things went through his head and he couldn't help but feel responsible for not being there. Those 90 minutes took forever. "I need Luke to come with me. So I don't end up in jail..."

Once Luke arrived, Jake was checking his watch every five seconds. When he could board he was on the plane ready for take off.

She shook her head, "The very next flight is leaving right now. You'd never make it through security." She told him.

"She's not talking. She was only nods and shakes her head. We are working on it. Just get down here." Her agent snapped.

Amy rubbed his arm, "Hey. I'm sure she's okay. Don't work yourself up. Go to LA, get her and bring her home. It's that simple." She hoped it would be that simple for Adri's sake and her brothers. "I'll watch Owen and the dogs. I'll call her mom and dad for help. Okay? Don't worry about anything here." She told him and gave him a hug.

Luke told Amy not to stress herself out and gave her and the baby a kiss and hug. He walked with Jake and went through security and waited in the terminal. "Checking your watch won't make time go faster." He told him. The plane started to board and he and Jake were the first on. They didn't leave for another hour.

The flight took four hours and then they had to find the car which took them to a nice house in Beverly Hills. Her agent answered the door and let Jake and Luke in.

"She's in the living room." He told them and closed the door behind them.

Adri was sitting on the couch in pajamas that belonged to Andrew's wife. She was holding an ice pack to her right side with her left hand and another to her left eye with her right hand. The TV was on but she wasn't really paying attention to it. The news already broke that she was found tied up in her apartment. It felt embarrassing to be the girlfriend of a fighter and then get locked in a bathroom. She did try to fight but it was hard to fight two to one. She wasn't really paying attention when Jake and Luke walked in. A part of her didn't want them to see her but she knew it would have to happen eventually.

"The officers told us she can't go home yet. If she's pressing charges then she needs to stay and testify against them. She can leave and fly back if she wants but first she has to put in her statement. Hopefully you can help her get it out." He said softly.

Jake was ready to tell her agent off with the way he was snapping at him but the guy hung up too damn fast.

"Let her parents know I'm heading out there and will call with any information as soon as I can. Don't let them worry. Especially since I don't know what's going on." He gave Amy a hug. "Thanks for helping. I don't know what I'd be doing right now if you weren't here."

When Luke told him to stop looking at his watch, Jake gave him a look. "Don't...Imagine how you'd feel if something was wrong with your wife and you had to wait an hour and a half before you can even get on a plane to see her than another few hours in the air. You have no idea what the fuck is going on. What would you be doing?" He sighed and looked away.

On the way to her agents, he saw on his phone what had happened. He was beyond pissed. He made a call to Liam. If Jake wasn't traveling with her, Liam would be. He was on permanent standby. He would have lawyers draw up paperwork. It would be something he should confirm with Adri, but he figured she'd be for it. Jake finally got to the residence. He gave her agent a look and moved passed him. Then he saw how bad she looked. He shook his head and wrapped his arms around her but was careful not to hug her too tight. "Hey baby...I'm here. It's okay I'm here." Jake wasn't worried about getting anything out of her at the moment.

"I know. Especially now. Like Amy said don't work yourself up. Alright? You don't want to be in jail and I don't want to bail you out. We know where she is. She's healthy as far as we know. Relax and breathe. Okay?" He told him.

She didn't know what to say when he sat by her. She let him hug her but she didn't hug him back. The pain killers she got from the doctor were making her a little loopy. The ice was just to get the bruises down.

"Find a hotel." She said softly. She was ready to get the statement over with and go home. Her apartment was locked up but she didn't want to go back to it. The locks were changed by maintenance but she wasn't even sure if she wanted to keep the apartment at this point. "Find a hotel. I'll go to the police in the morning."

"No. We don't know. Cause no one will let me talk to her. I have no idea what the fuck is going on." He shook his head. It was fucked up it was leaked to media and yet he had no idea what was going on.

Jake looked at her agent. "I thought she already talked to police? You told me earlier she was talking to them..."

He gave her a nod. "Okay..." He got up and grabbed his phone and motioned for Luke to stay close by before going to the other room to call for a hotel. He talked to the manager and explained the situation and they needed a suite with security at all times. He didn't care the cost.

After he hung up, Jake walked back in to Adri. "I got a suite with security. We can go anytime you're ready..." He said softly and kept his distance because it seemed she didn't want to be touched.

She needed him so he kept his anger for Andrew to himself. It was bullshit that he barely told him anything and he had to find out from the media what the fuck happened, he'd have beef with him later. She needed him and she needed him calm and not angry.

"They did talk but she wouldn't speak to them and she was in pain. We went to the hospital and then came here. They left her alone and that was that."

She took her time getting off of the couch and walked to her agent, "Thank you." She said softly. "Really, thank you." She told him and gave his hand a squeeze.

She looked at Jake and Luke, "I'm ready." She told them and got in the car. They were taken to the hotel and security met them outside and escorted them to their suite. Even thought one of the guys locked the door and she heard them, she had to check and she did the top latch lock to make sure no one was getting in.

"I'm going to call mom and dad. I don't...I don't know where my stuff is. I think it's at the apartment. They were digging through my purse and carry on." She told them. She went to the bedroom and called her mom. When she heard her moms worried, anxious voice that's when she broke down and felt the emotions come forward.

She hated feeling like the victim and she said she'd never feel like a victim again. After the phone call, she curled up with a pillow and tried to calm down before she went up front again.

Jake just rolled his eyes and shook head to her agent's explanation.

When they walked pasted her agent Jake looked at him. "Thanks for being there for her..." He said then followed her out.

He escorted her in the hotel and up to their room. He also watched her check it was locked and looked her over. "Adge...I won't let anyone in here..." He told her softly. He was there to protect her.

When she went to call her mom he looked at Luke. "Does she even need me here?" He asked softly. "She won't even look at me...she blames me for this." He shook his head. "Go to her apartment. Have them call me when you get there. Get her stuff if you can. Get what you can. Bring it here."

Once Luke left he called Liam to come out to LA. He knew she's probably feel better if someone she knew was outside the door. He could hear her break down and it killed him to not be able to help her. He asked for fresh ice packs from the front desk.

"Jake, she was just beaten and tied to her shower. What do you think? Do you really think she wants to be alone right now?" He asked softly. "Just be here. If you leave, if you retreat, if you start ignoring her you will lose her. That's guaranteed."

Adri got off the bed and went into the bathroom. She lifted the short she was wearing and she was bruise across her ribs. She got a tried to open her eye all the way and it burned. She touched it gently and turned away from the mirror. She turned the water on and got in the shower.

She wrapped up in a robe and went to the living room. She sat on the other side of the couch and looked at the empty seat in the middle.

"I was on my way to the airport. I had forgotten something on my nightstand. So I went back to my apartment. The door was open. I think they were waiting for me to leave to get in. It wasn't busted. They had the extra key. When they saw me, the girl freaked out. I was going to call 911 but the guy was faster than expected. I tried to run down the stairs but he grabbed my hair and dragged me back into th apartment. I called for help. No one heard me or no cared." She paused. "I hit him, punched him and he punched me. I fell and his girlfriend kicked me twice. Fractured two ribs. He dragged me to the bathroom and used...shoelaces, I think, to tie me to the shower. I don't know what they wanted. I thought they were going to kill me. They were talking about ransom and I don't know. I didn't think I'd make it out." She said softly.

Jake gave her time to talk to her parents and have a little time. He wasn't sure how much time he should give her though.

He was a bit surprised she came out and sat on the couch and started talking. He watched her as she spoke. He felt awful she was alone and felt like they were going to kill her. He felt like a total jackass for being jealous of Liam. That make could have protected her if he was there. Why wasn't Jake there himself?

Jake moved over and wrapped his arms around her and held her close to him. "I'm sorry I wasn't there. I should have been...I don't think I ever had that other key...I don't know what I would have done with it that they would have gotten it. But I knew something was off when you didn't tell me you were at the airport or boarding. You always tell me. I'm glad I always asked you to text me. Tell me cause that's how I knew something was wrong. I'm sorry I didn't get your agent there sooner." He kissed her head. "I'm not leaving your side babe. We can hire Liam to travel everywhere with you. If I'm not there he will be there."

"Did they get these guys?" He rubbed her arm and just let her sit with him. "I have more ice coming up. Liam is on his way. I figure you'd feel a lot better with me on one side of the door and him on the other. You're safe Adge." He'd kill someone before he let them get to her. "Why would they want to break in to your apartment? You don't have a lot there."

"You had to stay with O and the dogs." She said softly. "You couldn't come. I should called Liam. It was supposed to be a quick trip." She frowned and rubbed her side.

"Yeah the locksmith knocked out the guy since he tried to run. And tied the girl up until the police came and took them." She said softly. "They're gone and I know it but I feel like I age this huge target on my back now. And I don't know how to get it off."

She felt a little better knowing Liam was on his way. He was supposed to move to Vegas so he could be her bodyguard but travel with her but he had things he needed to wrap up in New York first. "Everything hurts." She said softly and closed her eyes.

"This isn't your fault. There's no way you could have known. I should have told you to change the locks...I'm sorry." He let out a sigh.

Jake couldn't wait to see these fuckers. What he wouldn't do for a minute with both of them. "Just...just try not to think about that target. It may take facing them in court before it goes away." He could try to prepare her in case something else happens but she knows how to defend herself. But when there's two people it changes things.

"I'm sure it does baby. I'm sure it does." There was a single knock on the door with a voice saying room service. Jake got up and it was her ice. He grabbed it then brought it over to her. "This will help." Jake then grabbed some pain meds and handed that and some water to her before sitting back down. "Just rest babe. I'll be right here..." He wrapped his arms around her.

They could get her a new apartment. With better security. Someone had to have given the key out. It seemed fishy to him. And that just made him livid. He couldn't imagine why anyone would want to hurt her. He couldn't help but think what could have happened if she had Owen. And if Layla found out...could get ugly. He needed to not let his mind take over.

She closed her eyes when he mentioned seeing them in court. She didn't want to see them again. She wanted to press charges but she never wanted to see these people again.

She closed her eyes and she was drifting into sleep. She was almost there when the knock came. She jumped and instantly regretted it. She grabbed her side and put her head against the back of the couch. She took some deep breaths and released them slowly. She took one of the ice packs and set it against her ribs and sighed.

Luke knocked on the door next but Adri wasn't half asleep so she didn't jump. He brought in her purse and carry on. Everything was kind of tossed into the bags. "I'm sorry. Everything was all over the floor." He explained. She grabbed he purse and looked for her wallet. She counted the cards and made sure they were all there.

She found her phone and turned it on. When it was booted up, the texts and calls started to come in. Most wanted to know if it was true and if was alright. Jake's calls came in, Amy called, her agent, her parents all of her brothers. It was non stop for a few minutes and then went to sleep.

"Thank you Luke." She said softly.

Jake and Luke watched her. Jake rubbed her back and kissed her shoulder. Luke gave her a nod. "Of course. Anything else you need let me know."

Jake looked at Luke, "You and I need clothes. Either go buy something and I'll pay you back or have Amy overnight some stuff." Luke gave him a nod and told him, he'd take care of it.

Luke told them that he was in the room a floor down. They had the entire floor. He was going to give them space. "Do you want to go lay down and rest? I'll go lay with you." He kissed her head. "Or do you wantto see your baby boy?"

"We aren't stay that long guys. I'm going to the cops in the morning and then we are leaving. I don't want to stay here. I refuse to stay here actually. They will tell me when I need to come back for the trial."

It was up to them if they didn't want to stay in what they were wearing but Adri was leaving tomorrow.

"Call him. I don't want him to see me though. I've seen my reflection. I might just scare him." If Owen called to her then she could block half of her face and talk to him that way.

He understood her not wanting to stay, but a change of clthes wouldn't be a bad idea for them. "You always say I dmell, I figured you'd make me shower before sitting next to me on a plane." He smiled a bit trying to lighten the mood. "And this guy amells worse than I do. Go get a change. I'm gonna want to shower. Jeans and a shirt for me or something." Jake would call someone to pack up all her stuff at the apartment and ship it home. They can ship it back to whatever new place she finds.

Jake kissed her shoulder after Luke left. "Babe...what are you going to do when you go home tomorrow? He's gonna want to cuddle you. He misses you. Babe he sees me after fights. I've never frightened him. It will he okay...but if you don't want to. I understand."

He let her make the final decision then called Amy to talk to O. "I still think you look beautiful." He kissed her temple. "I love you. I'm glad you're okay. I was very worrief. I can't lose you."

"He's used toyou coming home with black eyes. You've done it since he was born. There is a difference." She said softly and rubbed her side.

She let him call Owen and only showed half of her face to the camera. When he ran away Any wanted to see Adri and she tried to only show half again but Amy wanted to see it all. Adri took the phone and gave her a full view. It looked as bad as she felt. Amy freaked out and started to get angry at the guys and then at Adri for not taking Liam in the first place. And then she felt bad when Adri got up and walked into the bedroom.

She pulled the covers back and slid under the sheets. She was tired even though it was fairly early in the evening. She was done talking today.

Jake didn't argue her. If she wasn't ready for him to see her, that was her choice. He'd see her the following day regardless.

"Amy! Fucking really? " Jake was pissed and took the phone. "It's not her fault Amy. Just because you're pregnant doesn't mean you can be a jerk. We will keep you posted. Give O a hug and kiss for us." He hung up and made a quick call before heading to the bedroom.

Jake kicked his shoes off and crawled in bed across from Adri. He looked in her eyes. "She didn't mean it. She's just worried and pregnant and doesn't know how to watch her anger." He kissed her forehead. "I have a make up artist coming in the morning to cover up the batte wounds. Even though I find them pretty damn sexy. Shows how tough my girl is." He moved closer wrapping his arms around her.

"Don't for one second thing this is your fault. You did nothing wrong baby." He rubbed her back gently to not hurt her. "I can call up something to eat. Or epson salts to take a bath it will help with bruising."

"The gesture is really nice Boo but I don't want to put make up on it and have it get worst or infected or something. And I'd rather not have someone see me right now. I appreciate it, I do but I don't need it. I'll wear sunglasses home and just stay home until it clears up." She told him.

"I should have brought Liam though." She said softly. "If he was there it wouldn't have happened." The only reasons she didn't take him was because it was a quick trip and because she had a one bedroom. If Liam was traveling with her, she'd rather have him with her 24/7 than have him at a hotel.

"I'm not really hungry. I'll bathe when we get home. I'm tired. I'm hoping that I'll wake up and have this all be a bad dream or something." She said softly. "How do you do this? I can feel my heart beat in my ribs and eye. I don't want to move. I don't know how you do this."

He understood not wanting to get it infected or agitate it. "Okay. That's okay. I understand." He kissed her shoulder. "I'll shoot them a message."

He shook his head. "It's not your fault. You didn't think it would be necessary to bring him. Plus he had stuff to do in New York. If I was with you it wouldn't have happened. You can do a lot of what ifs. It will just make you go crazy though baby." He moved closer to her.

Jake wasn't sure how to answer that. "I'm a little weird. I don't want to get hurt. That's why when I do, I move slow. Cause it's really painful sometimes. But...I grew up getting hit all the time. So I wanted to train to be the best so no one could really hurt me. But I only go up against one man at a time." He rubbed her back. "I know it doesn't make sense but fighting can be a rush. Like getting a tattoo."

He moved her hair from her face carefully. "I want thirty seconds with them...I'm sorry I wasn't there to protect you. That's my job as your future husband. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. If you want to get a jet or a new apartment or five bodyguards, done. Why did I make you wait? If you had your jet you wouldn't have had to go back..." He looked away as he got choked up.

"I think I have sunglasses in my bag. Hopefully dark ones. If not I need Luke to go get me some big dark sunglasses. I feel bad for him. He's been doing everything for you." She said softly.

It wasn't an answer that could help her. He was fit. He got beat up since he was a child. She didn't have that. He was used to being beaten and bruised. She hated that he went through that.

"You aren't getting time with anyone." She said softly. "I don't need you in jail." She frowned when he started to tear up, "Babe stop. I just want to be at home. No new apartment, no bodyguards. Just home to my dogs and my family. It's bad enough I have to come back for their trial."

"It's fine. We'd do it for them if it was the other way around. He understands." He told her softly and let out a sigh.

Jake knew he could be saying the completely wrong thing to her but he had to at least say something and try to help. Just like she hated that he was beaten as a kid, he hates she went through this. Both were traumatizing.

"That's why Luke is here. To keep me out of jail." He gave her a nod. If she thought he wouldn't be a bit emotional about her getting attacked she was crazy. This was his future wife. She was tied up and beaten. He wasn't there to protect her. "You'll be home soon. I will reschedule us going to the east coast. That way you can stay home as long as you want and need. We will get you home for the puppies, Max, and O to love on you." He smiled.

Jake couldn't help but feel like he was saying and doing everything wrong. He was trying to help one way and she didn't want it. He felt helpless. All he wanted to do was help the woman he loved but didn't know how.

She chuckled softly and groaned, "I don't know if Luke will be enough." She joked.

She frowned at having to reschedule, "I don't want to miss out on the castle. I think we should just book the Biltmore for the day we want. We can skype with them and figure it the cost of using it the entire day." She said softly. She knew she wanted the Biltmore. She didn't want to lose out on it.

"Are you okay?" She asked him. The r Les wee hardly ever reversed and he seemed to be taking it harder than she was. She had her cry time on the phone with her mother. She'd probably cry again when they were face to face but she was ready to get out of LA and put it behind her.

He shook his head. "No. Not at all but if anyone has a chance, it would be Luke." He smiled a bit, glad she was joking. That was his girl. Cracking jokes.

Jake gave her a nod. "We won't miss out then. I'll call and tell them we can make the trip out but want the whole place for our day and pay what we have to. When a queen has a vision and dream a king makes it happen for his queen. Biltmore it is." He smiled and gave her a soft kiss.

He gave her a nod. "I'm okay. I'm just glad you're okay." He felt a bit guilty about it but that was expected. It was a little hard for him because she seemed to want to talk to her mother about it before talking to Jake about it. He was never close to his mother though. Jake just would have turned to her because of never having a good relationship with his mother. She is his best friend and the person he would turn to. When things got bad, she turned to her mother. Honestly, he didn't care who she turned to as long as she felt better. It was just different to how he would do it. "You just worry about you. And if there is anything I can do, please tell me. I just want to make this as easy as possible for you and I don't know how to help. I don't want to do or say the wrong thing."

She smiled and gave him a kiss, "Thank you. Everything else can wait." By everything else she meant the trip to Denver o check out log cabins. They could do that when her body felt better.

"Just be here." She said softly. "Do this and be here." When he was hurt he liked to be cuddled and talked too. She just needed company but that didn't necessarily mean cuddling. Siting in silence was just as good as cuddling in her mind.

She yawned and rubbed her lips together, "When does Liam get here?" She asked curiously. "Is he moving too or just taking us home?"
