Requiem of Destruction (1x1 with DarkMudkip)

"It'll be ok, Mini. You'll be ok. I'm right here. I won't ever leave you. I promise." He pinkie swore he would never leave, but he ended up breaking that promise unwillingly.

She couldn't help the sobs that tore from her throat, shaking as she cried, crouched down in the water and holding her bleeding wound. Why did he have to leave her? He promised he'd stay.

Days passed numbly by as she sat by the river, alone and sad. It was so empty without Hidemune, so dull and lame. Maybe she should just give herself back to Masamune to be reforged into Megohime? What was the point now? She had nothing, no one. What did it matter to keep running?
She could feel someone coming closer to the river. Someone unfamiliar. They weren't rushing over, but they would definitely be close to her soon.

Minehime didn't move from her spot at the base of the tree for days, now only wearing her Nagajuban, as her kimono was beyond tattered, and she had lost her shoes long ago. She didn't care if the person saw her, she didn't care if they tried to kill her, not that they'd be able to, but even still, death sounded more and more like a better option.

The bushes rustled as the person pushed through to the water. It was a young man, and he didn't seem to notice Minehime at first as he cupped his hands into the water to drink. He dunked his head under to wet his hair, which was a shoulder length and a dark chocolate brown. He sat back and sighed softly before looking around. When he saw Minehime, he jumped out of his skin. "Oh, Gods!" He flushed, "Sorry, I didn't know you were there...!"

Minehime watched the young man wander out of the bushes and to the riverside, not moving at all. She didn't care if he slew her thinking she was a monster, after all she was. With her blurred vision from lack of sleep, she could barely make out his face. Her heart skipped a beat, and she sat up quickly. She couldn't believe her eyes. Fresh tears formed as she sprang to her feet and nearly tackled the man in a hug, knocking him back so she was on top of him. "Hide!" She cried, hugging him tightly.

Her heart dropped into her stomach and she pulled away quickly. Up close, she could tell this man indeed wasn't Hidemune, he simply looked very much like him. Her own face flushed out of embarrassment. How could she ever mistake anyone else for Hidemune? Stumbling back off of the stranger, she tripped over a rock and landed butt first into the river behind her.

Tears dropped down her face, remaining in her spot in the river. "I was stupid to think he was alive.." She muttered to herself, looking down at the water, but even still, she couldn't help but start to sob.

Minehime rubbed at her eyes, looking up at the young man with a small nod. "He was the precious thing I had.."

Why did she feel so comforted by his words? It was almost like he was Hidemune. "You aren't... Scared of me? I look like a monster.."

Her cheeks flushed and she placed her hands on her horns, looking down at the water once more. "You don't even know me.."

"That doesn't mean I shouldn't help a young woman in need! What kind of man would that make me?" He said before offering his hand, "Come on, let's get you out of the river, ne?" He offered with a smile.

He was just as kind as Hidemune; nodding and taking his hand, she stood up, her clothes clinging to her body. "M... Minehime desu.."

"It is an honor to meet you, Minehime-dono..." He smiled, "We should get you to my camp and out of those wet clothes. I have a tunic you can borrow!"

She nodded and shivered, the cold air bringing goose bumps to her skin. She followed him through the woods, holding onto his hand the entire time.

She glanced up at him, a bit startled at him speaking so suddenly. "Um... Just around.." She muttered softly, wincing as she stepped on a sharp rock.

"They were stolen.." In truth, they had rotted away during the years she spent in the crypt, but she couldn't tell this stranger that.

"Goodness. How awful." He said. When they got to his camp, he took a blanket and draped it over her to keep her warm while he looked for a spare tunic.
