Requiem of Destruction (1x1 with DarkMudkip)

Something wicked had been desecrating the dead of the Date catacombs, only a handful of bodies left untouched, among them being Hidemune's body.

The crypts were cold and dry, and not even the torches could warm the massive room beneath the keep. Silence rang in Masamune's ears, and as he strained to hear anything, the sound of scratching and soft crying could be heard.

Masamune walked carefully, Kojurou close behind. He followed the soft crying, hoping to any and all Gods that one of his ancestors had not arisen as an unholy creature of death.

Most of the caskets had been opened, even after being closed many times, the corpses missing hunks of flesh or even entire limbs. The noises seemed to be coming from the direction of Hidemune's grave, but it couldn't be for sure.

Oh Gods, if Hidemune had risen vengefully, he would have to kill his own son. He moved toward the tomb that held Hidemune, gripping his broadsword tight.

The entire ground around Hidemune's grave was untouched, actually it was spotless. Perfectly clean, void of any dirt or dust, almost like someone had been tending to it daily. The lid was unopened, the seals unbroken, Hidemune laid still in his spot of eternal slumber.

Just behind Hidemune's tomb, a small figure crouched, vaguely human but there was no way it was human. The creature was as dark as a shadow, glowing eyes piecing back at Masamune. It was more thank likely a ghoul or a gargoyle.

The creature stopped its crying, noticing the glint of the great sword and hissing at Masamune, hiding behind Hidemune's statue.

The beast jumped onto Hidemune's tomb, hissing and spitting, almost like she was gaurding the grave.

"Get off of that!!" Masamune spat, eye slitting, death gripping his sword. Kojurou made an uncertain noise, "Masamune-sama...didn't you say the shard took a liking to Hidemune-dono?" He asked gently. "Not right now, Kojurou." Masamune hissed

The creature actually leapt forward at the blade, almost like to defend the coffin from being damaged. It cried out in pain as the blade cut into its gut, splattering black blood on Hidemune's coffin and sending the poor beast skittering away, running for the entrance to the outside world.

As soon as Masamune emerged from the entrance to the crypts, he was met with sunshine and silence. The small garden outside of the crypts was empty, only a few drops of blood in the grass.

The intruder was long gone, only leaving behind droplets of blood.

It would be nightfall before the injured creature would stop running, dropping to its knees by the side of a small pond. Wheezing, the poor thing held its wounded side, looking down into the water. Garnet slitted eyes reflected back, skin hidden by caked on filth. A soft whimper escaped the creature as it crawled into the water to clean its wounds.

"Aw, Mini, did you hurt yourself training again?" The memories of him hurt more than her wound ever would, "Don't you worry, I'll get you fixed up in no time."

As she washed the dirt and gore from her body, tears fell down her cheeks. She had cried for weeks after Hidemune was put down in the crypts, only did she stop crying when she had no more tears left to cry. Each day was excruciating, like a hole had opened up in her chest.
