It would be nightfall before the injured creature would stop running, dropping to its knees by the side of a small pond. Wheezing, the poor thing held its wounded side, looking down into the water. Garnet slitted eyes reflected back, skin hidden by caked on filth. A soft whimper escaped the creature as it crawled into the water to clean its wounds.
