Requiem of Destruction (1x1 with DarkMudkip)

Daihachi wiggled the knob a bit longer before looking back at Akihime, who had her head back on the pillow. He could hear the soft fussing of a baby.
"What brings you home, Daihachi-kun...?" She asked. Daihachi gulped and moved over a bit.
"Do you still have that ornate gold horn? I really like it and kind of want to keep it." He said. Akihime made a small noise, thinking it over.
"Oh, it's in my wardrobe there..." She pointed over and Daihachi turned before searching through. He found it easy and grabbed it, smiling softly. Not a single dent or scratch.
"Arigatou, Okaa-san...!"

Minehime stood just outside the door, listening intently and holding her breath, would Daihachi be ok? Had he found her horncap? “Daihachi-nii?” She called out.

"Daijoubu da.." He said as he moved to the door.
"You're leaving?" Akihime asked softly, "But you just came home..."
"Ah, Ieyasu-sama needs me back as soon as possible." Daihachi said. Akihime made a noise.
"I see...well, be safe then, Daihachi-kun..." She said. He gave a brisk nod and moved to leave before he stopped and looked back.
"Okaa-san...? Where...Where's Amaya?" He asked. It was so quiet in the room that his ears started to ring. He saw her move before a weak wail sounded from her.
"Oh, Ama..." She muttered before she began to sob. Daihachi felt his heart sink and he left quietly as his mother sobbed uncontrollably.

When Daihachi emerged from the bedroom, her heart nearly stopped. “Are you ok? What did she say?” She asked, looking him over for any wounds.

Minehime frowned. Amaya hadn’t really treated her nicely to begin with, but there was something sad in seeing Akihime so broken. “What about Ieyasu-sama?”

"He should be fine...let's go find him and get out of here.." He said.

Ieyasu was searching high and low for Mitsunari before finally finding him along with Tachi in the training area. "Mitsunari! Tachi!" He called joyously. Mitsunari stiffened and turned, grunting when Ieyasu pulled him into a tight hug, laughing his usual boisterous laugh.

As soon as Ieyasu touched Mitsunari, he felt something sharp at his throat, almost like talons. “I hand him.” A voice growled from behind Ieyasu; it was Tachi, eyes narrowed behind his spectacles, hand tucked into his sleeves and a scowl on his face.

"Of course, of course!" Ieyasu released Mitsunari before turning to Tachi, "My, look at you! You've become quite the powerful weapon!" He praised.
"Why are you here, Ieyasu?" Mitsunari asked. Ieyasu looked and smiled softly.
"I heard Akihime's queendom was crumbling and have come to offer you a place with me." He said. Mitsunari stared at him blankly before looking away.
"I cannot."
"What? Sure you can! I have plenty of room!" Ieyasu argued, grinning.

Tachi didn’t seem pleased to be praised by Ieyasu, his scowl deepening. “You need to leave, now.” He hissed out.

"And why is that?" Ieyasu asked, looking almost hurt, "Are we not friends?"
"That time has passed, Ieyasu." Mitsunari turned away, "My place is here. With Akihime-sama."
"Don't be so gloomy, Mitsunari! We can fix things!" He stopped when Mitsunari pointed his training sword at him.
"Go home, Ieyasu," he stated, "or I will kill you where you stand."
"Mitsunari..." Ieyasu frowned and looked back at Tachi, "You feel the same then, Tachi?"

Tachi didn’t dignify Ieyasu with an actual response, scoffing softly, then moving back to Mitsunari’s side. It was clear the both of them had truly been lost to Ieyasu.

He felt his heart break and he lowered his gaze. "I see..." He muttered, "Sorry to have bothered you both, then..." he turned and started to head off, Tadakatsu directly behind him.

Tachi looked to Mitsunari, moving over to him and brushing off his shirt, like Ieyasu had left some sort of filth behind when he had embraced Mitsunari.

Tachi frowned softly, but nodded. “Shall we return?” He asked, letting his hands fall back to his sides.

He nodded silently and returned the training sword to the rack. Tachi could feel his chest aching from Mitsunari, seeing his old friend must have greatly upset him.

Tachi frowned softly, following close behind Mitsunari as they returned to their housing, clutching his chest lightly. He never cared for Ieyasu personally, but he knew how Mitsunari felt of him; it wasn’t something he’d press about.

Osaka was on the verge of collapse. It seemed Akihime would remain in her room for the rest of her days, moping around over the loss of her husband and closest friend. Her guards did nothing but nap at their posts, and when he wasn't training with Tachi, Mitsunari would spend his time helping Yoshitsugu with his illness.
It was one such day that Mitsunari sat with the older man silently when Yoshitsugu suddenly became very tense.
"What is it, Yoshitsugu?" Mitsunari asked. Yoshitsugu's oddly colored eyes were wide with horror.
"Akihime," he muttered and Mitsunari scowled slightly before he heard someone approach.
"What is he doing out of his room?" Akihime growled, glaring at her father. Mitsunari jumped to his feet and turned to her.
"He requested some fresh air, I thought-"
"Open a fucking window then. Take him back." She hissed. Mitsunari clenched his jaw and bowed before helping Yoshitsugu back to his room, Akihime's sharp eyes following them as they left.

Sayuri wasn’t far behind Akihime, baby Okane bundled up in a wrap that was sling over her shoulder. Sayuri had made sure that she covered Okane’s ears when Akihime used foul language, watching Mitsunari and Yoshitsugu leave in silence. Looking up at Akihime, she uncovered the baby’s ears, waiting to see what she would do next.

Sayuri shook her head, smiling softly. “It’s okay, Mama, I covered Okane-nee’s ears.” She said proudly, holding the girl tightly.
