Requiem of Destruction (1x1 with DarkMudkip)

She spent the whole day yelling at everyone to get back to work, that the castle wouldn't care for itself. She was angry, beyond angry. She was cold and cruel and even hateful. But would always smile for Sayuri and be as gentle and loving as always.

Word had spread that Osaka castle was no longer the powerful stronghold that it once had been, rumors of Akihime’s death even floating around. The land of Oshuu was no exception for being a receptacle of rumors.
Megohime spent her days either enjoying the sunny spots within in the castle, or following Masamune, her looks never changing over all of the years gone by.

Masamune was getting old; he was almost fifty now and definitely looked it, his brown hair now faded and almost grey. He almost couldn't spar anymore, his shoulders and arms barely able to support his broadsword let alone Megohime.

Megohime didn’t seem to mind Masamune’s prominent aging, still doing all of the daily things that they enjoyed together. She didn’t care that he could no longer wield her, nor did she care for his grey hair and aching joints, she stayed by his side the entire time.

They were sitting on the porch of the estate enjoying the warm weather and some tea. A storm could be seen rolling in from the mountains, they maybe had a day or two before it hit Oshuu. It made his bones hurt.

Megohime looked to Masamune, seeing him scowling softly, and setting her cup down in front of her. “What is it?” She asked.

Megohime looked in the direction Masamune had motioned to, looking at the dark clouds hanging overhead. “Looks ominous.” She squinted at the clouds, something feeling off to her.

"Yeah..."
"Masamune-sama!!" A local came running up, clothes covered in dirt and ash. Masamune looked confused.
"What's going on?"
"It's Akihime! She's destroying everything! She's killed everyone in her path! No one has been spared, not even the children!" Masamune's eye widened and he stood quickly, calling for Kojurou as he headed off.

Megohime was on her feet and behind Masamune in seconds, scowling heavily. “She’s killing children now? We should’ve taken her head years ago.” She muttered.

"Masamune-sama?" Kojurou was following them in no time, despite being a decade Masamune's senior.
"Akihime is attacking Oshuu. We're gonna take her out for good this time." Masamune replied firmly.
When they arrived to the local village, everything was burnt to the ground and still burning. Bodies of men and women - young and old - littered the ground. Across from them stood Akihime, dressed from head to toe as a queen. She was knelt in front of an unmoving child, petting the boy's head gently as she prayed. Masamune shook with rage, clenching his fists.
"You...! You spiteful bitch!" He shouted. The remorseful look on Akihime's face was replaced with a scowl as she turned her attention to Masamune, standing and turning toward him.

Megohime was no stranger to the smell of burnt flesh, but this time was different. Moving to Masamune’s side, she slipped her hand into Masamune’s, and for a moment the warmth lingered, then he felt the cool, heavy weight of steel. ”Cut the bitch in two.”

Masamune rushed at Akihime and swung his blade, only to have Akihime stop the swing short with her hand like it was nothing. No wound opened on her palm, there was no blood, and Masamune was visibly shaking with effort as he tried forcing Megohime through Akihime's hand.
"You've gotten old, Date-sama. You used to be so handsome and so full of skill." She remarked dully. He glared hatefully.
"Look at you, now a fashionable whore. So self conscious that you put all your baby weight into those fake ass tits of yours?" He snarled. She glared and tapped her dragon-lady nails against the blade, sending Masamune flying backward.
"Masamune-sama!" Kojurou yelled and rushed Akihime at lightning speeds, only to have Akihime wave him aside like an annoying fly.

”Masamune! Are you ok?” Masamune had still managed to keep his hold on Megohime, who stayed in her blade form. ”I’m sure you already know this, but be careful, this bitch feels like she got her second wind.”

Masamune groaned as he sat up, rubbing his back. "Damn, I'm too old for this..." He muttered before pushing himself up. Akihime moved over and stopped another attack from Masamune with her hand, actually grabbing the blade to stop it. Masamune could see the magic she was using to protect herself from Megohime, when did she get so powerful? Kojurou charged at her again and she shot him with a bolt of lightning, stopping him short and nearly killing him.
"Kojurou!!"
"He's fine. I need him alive." Akihime assured.

Megohime herself was shaking, even as a blade, it sounding like the metal was ready to shatter at any moment. ”Masamune..!” She sounded like she was in pain, like she was actually strong enough to crush the blade with her bare hand.

"What do you want?" Masamune growled at Akihime. Akihime's expression didn't change, her eyes holding no emotion in them.
"I want you to die." She answered, her tone hollow, before she sent him skidding backwards across the ground, forcing Megohime from his grasp. He wheezed and coughed, his chest feeling like it was on fire.

“Masamune!” Megohime was back in human form and rushing to his side before he could even blink, kneeling beside him with wide, worried eyes.

"Oshuu is lost to you, Date-sama. Your only choice is to surrender to me. You will keep your life in that case. If you refuse, I will kill you and Megohime-dono." Akihime told him. Masamune glared hatefully before looking around quietly. He didn't know how much of his land had been lost before this point, and he passed his glance to Megohime. He could die, sure, and it would be fine. But her? The thought made his chest hurt more.

Megohime noticed the glance he gave her, and immediately she knew what he was thinking. “Don’t you dare.” She said lowly, her fists balled up. “Don’t you dare sell your land for me. You stand up and fight her!”

"If you wish to die, Date-sama, I'll just end it for you right now." Akihime offered, looking over her long nails with bored eyes, "Or you could just kill yourself and make my job much easier. You would keep your honor that way." Masamune scowled softly and looked at the ground. He could live with Megohime being angry with him for a while.
"Fine. You win. There's nothing left anyway. I surrender." He muttered.
"Take it back, Masamune-sama." Kojurou growled weakly, "There's no honor in a trade like that!"

Masamune was grabbed roughly by the collar of his shirt, but it wasn’t by Kojurou. “What the hell!? Have you grown into a coward as well as an old man!?” She shook him roughly, anger making her red eyes almost glow. “Take it back! Get on your feet!” Her look of rage twisted into one of anguish. “I won’t forgive you if you go through with this!”

"Mego..." His hands encased hers, "I can't rule over a land of ash...Oshuu is gone. I'm getting much too old to keep fighting...if I can't save Oshuu, I can at least save you and Kojurou..."
"How touching~" Akihime cooed snidely.

“Shut your mouth you old bitch!” Megohime snarled over her shoulder at Akihime. “I’m not talking with you.” She turned back on Masamune. “I don’t care if Oshuu is razed to the ground, you get off your wrinkled old ass and fight!”
