Requiem of Destruction (1x1 with DarkMudkip)

He gave a quick nod of his head, glancing around a bit before looking back to Akihime. Maybe this would go smoothly?

It was then that he noticed she didn't appear to be pregnant as Motochika said. Maybe the Captain was just really stressed and spiteful? She seemed nice enough. Akihime waved her hand and a swarm of maids came out and gestured for Ren to follow.

Ren wasn’t sure of his mission now, from the short time he knew Motochika, he seemed straightforward and honest, but so did Akihime, it was difficult.

Amaya bowed her head before Akihime, taking a knee. “He claims he was sent as an emissary; though he doesn’t seem very set as one. I sense conflict in him.”

“I cannot be to certain, but I believe he doubts Motochika’s word; I believe he is smitten with you, and is finding truth in your words.” She reported.

Akihime rose an eyebrow slowly, "Smitten?" She repeated, glad Yukimura wasn't around, "How interesting. Perhaps we can use this to our advantage?"

Amaya felt a pang of disgust, but nodded. “Of course, what course of action shall you have me take?”

Amaya seemed to bristle at this offer, clenching her fists tightly, but she relented. “Of course, my lady.” Her voice wavered, but she didn’t voice her disapproval.

“I only wish for your safety, my lady.” She stared at the floor, a soft frown on her face. “All I ask is you be careful.”

“Of course. When shall I send for the young man?” She asked, getting to her feet and bowing her head once more.

Amaya felt her chest tighten, and she nodded. “Always, Akihime-sama.” She said softly, and almost like she hadn’t been there at all, she disappeared.

Akihime relaxed and made a soft noise before looking down at her swollen stomach, "The sooner you decide to come out, the less paranoid your Godmother becomes..." She muttered.

It wasn’t until dinner time that Ren finally left his room to wander, and just as instruted, Amaya sent him to see Akihime as soon as she saw him leave his room.
There Ren stood, waiting for Akihime, looking around and shuffling nervously.

"Ah, you must be Ren-san!" Akihime greeted as she approached, "You will have to forgive the deception, my guardian has been very protective of me since I learned I was with child."

Ren perked and turned to face where the voice was coming from, face immediately flushing when he saw her. “O-Oh! It’s no problem!” He said, rubbing the back of his neck nervously. What was he saying? So she really was using a stand in?

"Are you hungry? We have much to discuss, I wish to learn why Chosokabe was so kind as to send me a new companion." She smiled warmly and he thought for sure he would melt right there.

Ren almost forgot to answer, nearly bumbling over his entire sentence. “Mo- c-cap’n sent me in good faith... wanted to show he was sorry ‘n all; make sure you was safe..”

"Aw, how sweet of him to send me such a kind and capable young man.." She replied before they entered the dining room and sat, "I will have to send my thanks in some way.."

Ren sat in the seat across from Akihime, where a second table placing had been set for him. “Ah! No need! Please!” He shook his head. “Truly, Just your good faith in the cap’n is enough!”
