Requiem of Destruction (1x1 with DarkMudkip)

Ren looked down at Akihime, cheeks pink as he looked her over. In a moment, Ren had closed the distance between the two, kissing Akihime gently before stepping back. “Sorry, I, uh..”

She blinked curiously, it had been a while since she was kissed so tenderly like that before. Not since Yukimura...
Her chest ached slightly but she forced it down. "No, it...it's alright..."

“Ah jeez, really I’m sorry my lady, I dunno what came over me.” He bowed his head deeply to her. How could he have done something so stupid?

Ren straightened up, rubbing his neck and glancing at her a few times; his heart was still racing in his chest, and honestly, he wanted to kiss her again.

“Aye!” He nodded, motioning for her to lead the way, and he followed behind her.

((Time for brainwashing!))

Akihime spent her time coiling Ren slowly around her finger, spinning him tales of how wild and ruthless Motochika was when he lived in the castle with her. How he killed anyone who came close to his housing and ate her soldiers for snacks and how selfish he was when Akihime asked him to do anything his duties as her general demanded. It didn't at all sound like the Motochika he knew, but then again his captain was only half ogre now - there was no telling what he was like before she changed him.

Every story Akihime told Ren, the more he became wrapped around her finger, believing every lie he was fed. Soon, he was hurt by Motochika’s actions, and even came to despise him slowly.

"I made him half ogre in hopes it would calm him, maybe make him more willing to follow me, but it only gave him means to leave. His wife willingly went to help Mouri-sama and after that, Chosokabe left my home to spite me." She looked like a heartbroken mother who's son ran away from home, "I did all I could to make him happy, Ren-san, but he only seemed to hate me more..."

Ren couldn’t contain his anger, how could he have been tricked so easily by Motochika? He seemed as honest as they could come, but apparently he was a poor judge of character. “How could he have done this..?” He clenched his fists. He was just as guilty, he was there, only held up by lies. “Ne... Akihime-sama, is it ok if I say something?”

“Motochika... He, uh...” He looked up at Akihime, taking a deep breath. “He sent me to keep watch on you, to wait until you had your baby, and then he wanted me to take it and go back so they could have it.” He admitted. “I’m sorry, I should’ve said something sooner, but, I donno, I thought he was a good person..”

Akihime about exploded right there, slipping her hands into her sleeves as she clenched her fists so tightly that her nails drew blood. "Did he? Oh, how cruel of him...! How horrible to try and steal away my child, because he dislikes me!" She started to cry, in truth she was so furious that it brought her to tears.

Ren moves closer to Akihime, but was stopped by a blade, Amaya on the other end, eyes glowing in fury.
“A-Akihime..! I’m sorry, I really am! I-“
“Silence!” Amaya hissed.

"Ama, no, don't hurt him, it isn't his fault..." Akihime hiccupped, "Ren-san, you are so kind for bringing this to light and choosing to go against his orders...I don't know how to repay you for warning me of his plans..."

Amaya ground her teeth so hard they nearly cracked, but she refused to let go of Ren just yet.
“Akihime-sama, he was also apart of Chosokabe’s plan, surely he won’t be forgiven so easily?”

"True..." Akihime nodded, drying her eyes, "He was indeed apart of this plan...but look at him, Ama...he's so remorseful. How can I punish someone with such regret...?" Easily, she knew for a fact, but she needed to save face.

Amaya felt rage prickle at the back of her neck, but she let go of Ren and moved the blade away from his throat. “Fine.” Was all she said, turning and giving the two room.
Ren rubbed his throat a bit nervously, looking to Akihime. “I promise, I really am sorry.”

She shook her head, "No, no, it's fine, thank you. Stay right here a moment while I talk to Ama, she's so protective, as I've told you.." She said and moved to pull Amaya away, "You trust me, don't you, Amaya? Would you dare ruin my careful web so blindly because he felt bad for what Chosokabe sent him to do? We can use him." She whispered.

Amaya frowned softly and bowed her head. “Forgive me, my lady, but he has committed treason against you, he needs to be put to death.” She said quietly.

"We'll address that later, but for now, he is an asset...if I can coil him just a little tighter, he can help us punish Chosokabe for deserting us, for ruining our alliance with Mouri-sama...wouldn't that be better than just getting rid of him?" She asked gently, in that sweet tone that Amaya could never say no to.

Amaya frowned heavily, but gave in eventually. “Alright, but as soon as we have Chosokabe, he’s getting locked up.” She hissed softly.
