Requiem of Destruction (1x1 with DarkMudkip)

He nodded, following after Motochika and the rest of the men. After the men had chosen their beds, everyone was given a tour of the ship, making sure everyone knew the layout so they wouldn't get lost.

Motochika kept Nana close to him as he showed everyone around, showing them where the engines were so they could keep everything running with Nana's help.

Nana let Motochika know how she had been running the engines until now, mainly keeping the engines cooled with water that she controlled from the deck, but manually made adjustments when needed, fixing breakdowns, and even replacing complete parts when needed.

"I don't mind helping, keeps me busy." Nana said, shaking her head.
"Um, Cap'n? Does she- does your wife; can she not speak?" Ren piped up, a soft frown on his face, but his eyes held curiosity.

Ren looked at the large scar that ran across Nana's throat, frowning softly and falling silent, he could tell that whatever had happened, wasn't good. Nana placed a hand on Motochika's shoulder, giving him a soft smile. "Shall we continue?"

He nodded and continued showing off every inch of his prize before they stopped back on the deck. "We are a family. A brotherhood. We help others and our own. There is no lone wolf nonsense here. Understood?"

All of the men agreed with either a firm "Yes sir." Or a silent nod of their head. The crew wasn't huge, it wasn't even big in fact, but it was a start.

Everyone went to their assigned stations, young Ren starting on the deck to scrub it as they set sail for the next port. It was only Motochika, Ren, and Nana up on the deck, Motochika navigating while Nana rested in her pool to keep hydrated. "Cap'n?" Ren was still busy scrubbing the deck when he called over to Motochika.

Ren looked up from scrubbing, but didn't stop. "Is that lady over in the pools- Is she really your wife?" He asked.

He nodded, "Aye...I wouldn't lie about such a thing. We met when I was more ogre than man, I had accidentally snared her in a trap set for boar. We became very close and although we have not had a proper marriage, I..." He stopped and looked to Nana to make sure she wasn't paying attention before moving closer to Ren to whisper, "I crafted her a ring made of shark bone and coral...I plan to gift her it soon."

Ren dropped the scrub brush and sat up on his heels, looking from Nana to Motochika.
“Really? Cap’n that’s great!” He said in a hushed whisper. “I think she’d like it!” He grinned.

“If it’s not too much of me to say... She’s very pretty, does she have a name?” He began to sputter. “I-I mean of course she has a name, but you never told us..!”

“She seems nice..” Ren said, almost looking longful. “I hope one day I meet a woman like her.” He said, then grinned. “But it’ll probably be a while.”

He gave a nod, looking determined as he returned to work. Nana rested in her pool, enjoying the sun on her skin as well as the soothing water on her scales. Feeling something brush against her leg, she opened her eyes, peering down into the water and spotting a lone eel. She stared at
It for a moment, then reached into the water and plucked it out like it was nothing. She stared at the squirming creature for a moment before raising it over her head, opening her mouth, and taking a large bite out of the eel.

The men that were watching curiously were suddenly screaming in terror. Motochika scowled at them and swatted them away. "Idiots, she's just eating, calm down!"

Nana’s cheeks flushed a bit, and she quickly finished off the eel, looking a little embarrassed. ”It’s alright, Motochika.. I was being rude to eat like that in front of them.”
