Requiem of Destruction (1x1 with DarkMudkip)

It took about a days trip, but soon Motochika was able to see small dots on the horizon. Ships. That's where Nana was, where Mouri was.

As soon as Motochika finished his thought, it almost seemed like the waves were fighting Motochika's boat, keeping him from coming any closer, but it eventually ceased.

It was only a short time before Mouri showed his face, scowling softly, a rope latter was thrown over the side to Motochika.
"That is the only thing that brings you out here?"

Motochika grasped the ladder tightly to make sure it was steady before nodding, "Yes. I wish to make amends for sending her away so cruelly. T'was wrong and rude of me."

Mouri eyes the half-Ogre, a faint scowl on his face as he mulled over his answer. "Fine, you may speak with her, but this in no way voids the current contract." He still didn't seem happy, turning away from Motochika.

Motochika climbed up the ladder and pulled himself aboard, "Have you been caring for her properly? Does she have water nearby for her scales? She dries out easily...and she has sunlight, yes? She likes to sit in the sun sometimes.."

Mouri looked annoyed by all of Motochika's questioning. "She has water, yes." He avoided he other question by speaking to one of his attendants. "Take General Chosokabe down to the woman." He said, and the man bowed, motioning for Motochika to follow him down a set of stairs toward the darkness of the inner ship.

Motochika followed, his chest aching anxiously. Would Nana even be happy to see him? Would she turn him away without a second thought? He was scared.

The man stopped at the bottom step, lighting a lantern and handing it to Motochika before scurrying up to the top of the stairs without another word. Was this man scared to go any further? Regardless, Motochika pressed on. It was damp, dark, and smelled of rotting flesh- both fish, and something else. Water splashed a couple yards ahead of him and the sound of chains against the wooden floor could be heard. Was it Nana?

As he moved closer, an inky black pool of water stood just in front of him, a single heavy chain that was connected to the floor, lead into the water. "Motochika..?" It was Nana, and she sounded exhausted.

He moved closer, avoiding the chain, trying to get more light in the room. They kept Nana in this dark room? He would have to bring this up with Akihime.

"Gomenasai.." It almost sounded as though she were weeping, her voice sad and frail. "I was selfish... I just wanted to see you smile again..." Something just under the murky water shifted, catching the light and glimmering for a mere moment, then disappearing.

"Nana..." He frowned, "I should be the one askin' forgiveness. I shouldn't have casted you aside so cruelly. I was the one who was selfish. You did this for me and my thanks was turning my back to you. I'm a dreadful husband, please forgive me.."

The water before him shifted once more and something surfaced. The creature before him was covered in sea grime, barnacles in heavy clusters along its skin, algae growing on golden scales, making them an ugly green, and hair tangled and sporting some seaweed. "I will always forgive you, my husband.." It was Nana, and the heavy chain that led into the water, was connected to her neck by a heavy metal collar, like she was some sort of dog.

Nana blinked slowly like she was in a trance of sorts. "Forgive my unsightly appearance... I've been rather busy keeping the boats moving.." She sounded and looked beyond exhausted

"Unsightly?! Nana, they have you chained! Your hair is a wreck, you're growing barnacles for fuck's sake! I'm getting you out of here." He said and gripped the chain.

Tears welled up in Nana's eyes and she slowly swam closer to Motochika, wrapping her arms around his neck and sobbing silently. "Please forgive me, my husband..!"

Nana only shook her head, continuing to cry. Being this close, his own heart ached so badly it felt like someone was crushing it, but it was almost a good pain. Under all that sadness and grief, was love and forgiveness; Nana's feelings.
