Requiem of Destruction (1x1 with DarkMudkip)

"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to wake you, I was just checking on you for Kagetsuna...!" She said gently, "Go back to sleep...I'll be back in a bit...!" She bowed and left without another word.

"You want me to make Chosokabe human sized?" Akihime asked dully, arms hiding in her sleeves. Nana had requested an audience with the new ruler of Osaka regarding Motochika, and by the looks lf it Akihime wasn't happy with what she was hearing - or reading would be a better term.
"And why on Earth would I do such a thing? I need an ogre."

Nana frowned softly, turning her pad of papers toward herself to write a response. Motochika had been tricked into his old form of an Ogre when he joined Akihime - for her. Motochika was increasingly unhappy with his life as an ogre, becoming more and more withdrawn - all because of her.
"I will exchange my services for the loss of his current form." She presented the pad to Akihime; she knew Motochika would never want or allow her to do such a thing, but he wasn't there, and she missed hearing him laugh and seeing him smile so much it hurt.

"Wouldn't that leave him useless to me without his Living Weapon to aid him now in his cripplingly small new form? I do not see how it would benefit me in the slightest." She replied, "I'm sorry, but he's just going to have to deal with it." The idea of never seeing Motochika smile or laugh or be merry with her ever again shattered her heart in her chest.

She gripped her papers so hard the crinkled in her hands. "Anything. I'll give anything." Her hands trembled and her writing was sloppy- rushed. She sunk to her knees and bowed her head, jaw clenched.

Akihime hid the lower half of her face behind her sleeve, smirking beneath the fabric. "Hhmm...well, Mouri-sama was telling my that his Naval fleet needed a new source of power. And you are a very powerful being, Nana-dono. I would know, I made you~"

"I'll do it, whatever you need of me, please just let my husband be happy again." She didn't care what she had to do, if it would mean she could see him smile once more - laugh that wonderous laugh again, she didn't care what they did.

Nana bowed her head slightly, gathering her papers and leaving immediately, she didn't want to be in Akihime's presence any longer than she absolutely had to.

Motochika had come back from a chore Akihime had sent him on, looking tired and wanting rest. He groaned as he sat on the massive bed he shared with his small wife and ran his fingers through his wild hair.

The smaller door that Nana used slowly opened up and Nana peeked inside, smiling softly when she saw Motochika. "My husband.." Her voice echoed in his head, moving over to him.

She floated over to him and lay upon his chest, closing her eyes and listening to his massive heart beat within his chest. "You look weary... Did your travels fair kindly?"

"It was a long walk, and it breaks my heart to have to control people in such a way." He answered, running one of his long nails through her hair slowly, "But I suppose that is my price to pay so I may hold you like this always..."

A pang of guilt made Nana's chest ache, and she looked away from him, unable to meet his gaze. "Forgive me for burdening you so... Ah, Akihime wanted to speak with you when you returned."

His ribcage rumbled with an irritated growl, "I grow very tired of doing that witch's dirty work. She can wait. I'm tired and I want to be with my wife."

Nana supposed it wouldn't hurt if Akihime waited a bit longer, nodding and resting her head against his chest again, she nuzzled against him, letting out a soft sigh.

He shook his head, "I would make any sacrifice for you, Nana...this form is nothing compared to the unending grief of losing you." He could feel her blood pooling between his fingers again, her heart slowing under his thumbs. His eyes burned with tears and he shook his head, "I don't care what happens to me. You are more important than being human.."

She frowned, her guilt growing. "I care what happens to you though." Her voice was quiet in his head, her expression sad.

He sat up slightly, still holding her, and gently touched his forehead to hers. "Nana, please...I know you feel guilty, I'm not blind to your feelings, but you would do the same for me, would you not? You would make a sacrifice for me if the positions were switched..."

Nana nodded slightly, he was right. She touched his forehead and let out a soft sigh. "I know..."

"So I don't mind this form...I do my best not to bully the people of Shikoku and I bear with Akihime's griping because at the end of the day, this is all I want. To hold you and feel you against me. I get to be with my wife like I've always enjoyed." He told her gently, "You make all of this worth it...you saw a man inside a monster when I did not..."
