Fairy Tail's next generation (Sirix and Winx)

Chuckling a little as she jumps at the small sound Halric responds with "It can't be helped sometimes." He takes a moment to think about his family, before answering. "My family isn't really famous for doing anything. Mom was pretty much a "stay at home mom" by the time I came around, before hand she was a tailor. Dad calls himself a full time store owner, part time exorcist." He thinks again. "The Ghos family doesn't really have much to its name."

"Not as easy to make out. My grandmother was a house wife so there is no shame in it. My mother stopped doing the big moves after I was born, I was a few weeks old after her large one. I was in that one as they needed 5 babies the same age because babies and small children can't be on set for long. They just used each baby for 3 minute's then used dolls". Rebecca said. "As for being a tailor not many have the talent or skill these days, so depending on her style there is a chance she can branch out a bit more by getting special orders for things. There is loads of business what don't make it past there first year so you should say it with pride with what they do".

"I'm proud of my family. I certainly hope mom goes back to her craft, she made the best dresses and suits and other clothes in the region. Apparently people from the capital came to our little town to have her make their gowns and what not for some big party back in her day." Halric says, keeping his voice quiet for the sleeping passengers but happy as he explains out his mothers "fame". "And Dad runs a magic item store, not much he hasn't seen. Brags he had one of the 12...well 14 golden keys in his store once, though I'm not sure I believe that. Loads of silver keys though. Surprising what people buy and sell to him."

"the silver keys are quiet useful. You will be surprized on what they can do,Gate of the Southern Cross Key Crux. Gate of the Clock Key Horologium. Gate of the Canis Minor Key Nikora. Gate of the Lyre Key Lyra. Gate of the Chisel Key Caelum. Gate of the Compass Key Pyxis. Gate of the Bear Cub Key Polaris. Gate of the Swan Key Deneb". Rebecca said. "What about repairs did she ever do that?" It then clicked on what was just said. "Gold key witch one and would be able to say who to?

Hearing the excited question, Halric thinks a moment before answering. "I never asked, he tells a lot of tall tales so I never really believed him in the first place. My hometown isn't to far from the job, so maybe we could it up after. I'm sure he would love to meet a Celestial." Snapping back to her other question, Halric answers a little less rushed. "I think so, no reason for her to not to really. Her stuff doesn't fall apart unless it gets ripped on purpose, but I suppose she would have had to."

"It's nothing your mother would have made. Too old. My grandfathers, great grand fathers suit has got wholes on the lining from moths, no one will touch it due to the age of the suit". Rebecca explained "It's an idea. You can tell your parents where you are so they won't worry about you and can send for you when your needed. We can't be long there now. I am just hoping that we are told more of the details rather than just thrown into it. My first mission was like that, we didn't get paid because it wasn't done the way the client wanted it to be done".

"We can go after, would hate to leave the client waiting." Halric says, checking the time. It was getting late but the lights of the next town were starting to rise over the horizon. "Looks like we are close. Shouldn't be to much longer." Halric observes. It wasn't a super long ride, but still enough that he was ready to be off the train.

Rebecca got up to her feel placing her small brown leather shoulder bag in the right position and walked over to the monkey bars grabbing hold of them tightly. "You never leave a client waiting it's not the way of our guild. By doing that it put's shame on all of us".

"I never planned on it," Halric says, joining her at the bars getting ready for the train to come to a stop.

"Approaching Gyld," Comes over the speakers, waking most of the other passengers. Most of the passengers just fall back asleep, while others prepare to leave, or wake up their companions then prepare. A few minutes later, the train screeches to a stop. "Welcome to Gyld, we will be heading to our next stop in 10 minutes." The conductor announces as everyone that is getting off gets off.

As Rebecca and Halric step off the train Halric says, "Well, I doubt our client is awake, and there is still a few hours of dark, what do you think we should do? Just head that way or find somewhere for the night?"

"Best heading off there. You never leave a client waiting, especially since the person could be waiting up for us, we won't know that answer till we know if there are any lights on". Rebecca said. "If the person stayed up all night they might be crabby and refuse to pay once the work is done".

"Fair enough, I forget that they know we are coming." Halric admits, then starts to walk towards the country side. The job was at a family farm not far from the Gyld city edge but still pushed up against the forest. Checking the job request paper just to make sure they were on the right track, Halric leads them to a small farm, a single light on in a room with a door. "Good call." Halric says, walking up to the door and knocking.

The sound of a startled old man rings out through the door, followed by "Just a minute." A minute later an older gentleman opens the door, wearing overalls but shirtless underneath. "You two from the Guild?" He asks, looking for their hidden marks.

"Yes sir. We hear your having a pest problem." Halric answers, looking at the older man sounding professional and respectful.

"Yes, I do. Come in, and we can talk some more." He says, stepping to the side to allow Rebecca and Halric in. Halric motions Rebecca in first, then follows her in. "Name is Jericho. I hope you can help me with my little problem here." He says, leading them through his surprising clean and well furnished house to a dining room. He takes a seat at the table and motions for the young wizards to join him. "So, it a little more then just a pest problem. We have always had a Dire Rats problem in the area, and they are usually pretty easy to deal with, traps and what not, but recently their numbers have increase 10 fold along with their size and intelligence. I don't know what else to do, that's where you come in. If you can find the cause and take out a few of the numbers I would be much appreciated."

"Rats do breed quickly, and depending on what is being born is how possible for it to be". Rebecca thought for a moment. "I am not so sure that taking out a few of them out will be the answer, to me it sound like someone or something is interfering with nature as it takes generations to slowly increase with size and intelligence and not all in one go. Look at us. It took centuries for us to have gained the intelligence to gain the knollage for the technology we have to day and even longer to discover the balance of a healthy diet, so alone I really don't think this problem can be done alone

"Thusly find the cause little lady." The old man says, not impressed by her little history lesson. "Never the less" He says, standing up and stretching slightly, "They seem to have retreated for now, and its late. I have a spare bed and a sleeping bag for the boy if you two want to get some sleep. Start refreshed and ready to go in the morning. Can't find the little bastards during the night anyway." Jericho says, walking towards a room of the house, Halric and Rebecca following. "You can also use this room to store anything you don't readily need on you." He opens a door to a simple room, a bed and dresser with a mirror on top are the only things in the room. "I know I was a little vague on the request sheet, but I was in a little bit of a hurry while I was making it. I don't need this done in any set amount of time, but I don't want you lolly gagging either. Get the work done and you will get paid.

Halric looks around the room before telling Rebecca, "I could do with some sleep. Apparently they disappear at night anyway. We can follow tomorrow night, but we are kind of stuck for tonight. Your choice though, we can at least...look over the damage done or something if you really want to get to work."

"Rats eat anything could put a small tracking device in some food, but we need to work out the areas they are attacking first for that, so we know how many are needed or even if it works". Rebecca said after thanking the old man for the room. She pulled a pad from her bag. She then wrote down the details of the mission so they can add extra if need to be. Hoping that some solution can be found quickly then went to bed.

"Your welcome little lady" Jericho says, walking off now, presumably to his room turning off lights as he goes.

"Well, we can check the town for the trackers in the morning, we need our rest anyway." Halric says, checking under the bed and grabbing out an older looking but still in good shape sleeping bag. He is quick to unroll it and gets ready to sleep.

Rebecca work up after remembering those monkey's what hang around the woods and mountains. "Positions, they could be human not rats". She whispered under her breath not wanting to wake up Halric writing it down, along with steroids as they increases growth.

Halric sleeps through the rest of the night, waking when the sun hit him in the face. Yawning as he gets up, he says loud enough to wake up Rebecca if she was asleep, "good morning!" He stands and stretches getting ready for the work they were going to do today. "Where should we start? Looking over the farm or running to town?"

"Since you grew up not far from here is there any lab's of any kind in or near this area? Only to rule out anyone experimenting with the rats causing some kind of accident" Rebecca asked trying to narrow things down a little. "I have one idea on killing the rats but it depends if they are rats and not people. You see there is monkey's not far from our guild what can take over people, so it's only a wild guess but other creatures spirits can take over there host once defeated changing the human into the creatures form. I know defeat the monkey it releases the spirit from the human changing them back".

"That is an incredibly rare undertaking. We can certainly check, but spirits don't just take over bodies willy nilly, and where would the people be coming from? If there was a mass disappearance like it sounds like we would need for these kinds of numbers, the army would be mobilizing." Halric says, bending down to put the sleeping bag away. "There are no labs around here as far as I know, but they could always be hidden or using something else as a front if we don't want to rule out that possibility. My contribution for ideas is a wizard is out there rallying the rats to destroy the farmland around here so 'nature can reclaim.'" Halric says, finishing up the bag and storing it back underneath the bed where he found it.

"I also thought of potions and spells but come at a blank on what type of magic could cause this kind of problem, plus how has the potion been given to so many. If it was in the water every living thing would be effected". Rebecca said. "We need to know where the nests are or the hide out is for them. If they aren't near any buildings carbondioxsid can deal with them since the gas is deadly with no smell".

(What we breath out. Sorry I can't spell it and nothing is showing up to correct it)

(I have seen worse spellings, Carbon-Dioxide)

"Only if the nests are enclosed. Given they are rats, Dire rats mind you but rats all thdie same, they should be but we can't count on that." Halric observes, sitting on the bed while he thinks. "We need to find the cause, not treat the symptoms. It could be some kind of mind affecting magic, hypnosis on a massive scale since simple minded rats wouldn't take much power to control." Halric brings forth as another suggestion. "Lets look over the farm, see what they are doing, and deal with them from there." He suggests, standing and walking towards the door.

"Either way what ever we find our job is to get rid of as many of these things as we can. Don't forget they carry illness within there flea's, so when large numbers gather together it can course problems for other living things within the area. Is there a way of tracking a large number of them, that way there is a chance of working out where they all go". Rebecca asked thinking of the other part what has been said. "With what we have been told if your right there should be more than one doing this as the more being controlled the more magic will be used, then everyone's sense of what's too much and little is different".

(Off to bed now good night, explains why it didn't show up with it being two words, thanxs)

(hahaha, yea, not many know.)

"Unless we follow a pack, or can get some kind of trackers, not really any way to track them. Dogs won't follow dire rats." Halric says, trying to come up with ideas. "Regardless, we need to see what and where they are attacking."

"Well we aren't going to find them like this. I am worried that they will get in the water supply what will be bad for the town and possibly the near by ones as well depending on where there water supply comes from, some farms will still use the river water on the food what will infect that with what ever they are carrying. Then if they don't do that with them being larger than normal they will eat more than normal meaning these poor people will starve". Rebecca said biting her bottom lip when she had finished speaking.

"Well then lets get to work." Halric says, walking and opening the door for Rebecca. As they leave the house, Jericho walks up to them, a gun in hand.

"Ok, I can show you where they have been attacking mainly. The fields seem ok enough, but the silos have been taking a beating, and the barn is becoming a mess of metal and wood." He says, showing each in turn. The silos have huge holes in the sides, grain and other goods falling out of the holes and piling onto the ground. What used to be in the barn cant be identified anymore, the whole of the inside looking like a metal scrape heap, broken and trashed wooden boards peppering the floor and piles.

"Well what do you make of it?" Jericho asks, before hearing a little scurrying behind him. He whips around and unloads both barrels of his gun into the rat, killing it quickly. Nothing seems to exit the body, not even the spirit that Rebecca and Halric should see as the spirit of the animal continues on for a while before moving on to the next realm.

Halric looks over at Rebecca a look of worry on his face. "Necromancy may be?"
