What game are you playing now?

Shadow of Mordor was fun, if a bit short, but Shadow of War is insanely addicting to play. I regret not checking these out sooner.

Started Dragon Age : Inquisition last week as my first foray into its' universe, it's good.
The Dragon Age universe is neck-deep in detailed Lore. BioWare did their job exceptionally well when they built it.

I just started playing Horizon Zero Dawn - so far, I'm quite liking it (although I'm only just past the first chapter :) )

Also playing Endwalker. Not going to name specifics but at least one section of the story has made me audibly go 'Holy shit.'

Been dancing around a few lately.

-The delve into New World didn't hold, just keep my mind on it after all of the issues that took so long to address.
-I've still yet to complete Skyrim, so I've played a good bit of that finally and actually made some decent headway on a character for once without getting bored and going off to do something else.. still haven't done the first Greybeard quest.
-The one game I can feel comfortable consistently going back to is Hunt: Showdown.. the mixture of fast-paced combat at times and stealth decision making, a few jump scares and comical moments just make it the right combination of things it seems.
-I've finally started The Witcher series on Netflix, and it's given me a little more reason to actually play the 3rd game.. which just finished installing.

With all of that said..
This is a ploy to wait until Elden Ring releases next year.. okay thanks

Guardians of the Galaxy has to be one of the best single player experiences I've had since RDR2; hoping a sequel is on the way, the game was a load of fun. I had my doubts after Avengers; between how annoying Kamala Khan is and how boring the story got, I struggle to see the story through, but Marvel hit the hammer on the nail with this one. Hell of a game.

About to fire up Skyward Sword HD, it's one of my favorite Zelda games so I am very excited to relive my childhood for a few dozen hours!

I don't think I beat the game when I first got it since it was around the same time my brother and cousins got heavy into Smash Bros.

I don't make much time for video games generally but I did enjoy that Disco Elysium recently.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition

My very good face from the first game doesn't look right in the second game, so I have to tweak it. The engine has serious issues with the cheek bones, jawline and actual cheeks. If you bring the jawline out too far it makes the cheek bones look super extended, because the cheeks get very shallow. You can't make it look right. Then there's this other weird little issue with the area just to the side of the corner of the mouth. It juts out something fierce when the character emotes and is very hard to get rid of.

Worse of all?

Anytime you want to make an adjustment you have to start a new game and sit through the intro. You could use a save editor to make adjustments to the face, but that's a lot of technical shit that I don't feel like learning, and you can't see your changes in real time. It's so... it makes me not want to play the game if I can't get her damn face perfect. lol

At this point I'm half hoping I can find a really good head morph with values set outside of the confines of the creator, but it's hard to find a good one and the people that make great faces aren't prone to sharing them for some reason.

Started to stream Silent Hill: Downpour.

Whew boy... dat combat. I'm liking the atmosphere and shit so far. There was already a part I found particularly scary and creepy, but it's kinda not giving me Silent Hill vibes. The combat is so fucking bad though, and not in the bad sort of way that the other games are. It just feels way more awful to play somehow.

I never finished this. I forgot why I stopped.

I'm finding it to be slightly tedious. It seems to really want you to explore, but all of the enemies in the game are very annoying and unfun to deal with. It makes the very idea of combing through every nook and cranny daunting and tiring. There's a lot of potential in this game, but they just kinda miss the mark too often. It doesn't feel like it's made by people who understand the series, or what made the first four games so great.

Oh yeah. I remember one part vaguely a place where there was a gramophone playing and a rocking chair moving on its own. I was trying to explore in between being slightly creeped out while some type of void thing? was trying to suck in/attack the dude. The places I went, it followed cornering me.Thinking back on it, you're right, it was very different than the other games. That's probably why I stopped playing it.

I think that's right at the start of the game. I've only encountered that black hole thing during the first hour or two of the game. Since making it into Silent Hill proper, I haven't seen it. I'm sure it will be back, but so far it doesn't seem to be overused.

What the game gets right about Silent Hill is that the horror is about the atmosphere. There has been some good sound design so far, which is what I always found most creepy about the games developed by Team Silent. However, they still do things that distract from that and make me wonder what they were trying to accomplish. I think my brain is very stuck on the second game, where Silent Hill was a very personal experience for those that were stuck there. I think I prefer that the most, despite the other three games not really having that. It's distracting, because I find myself wondering if there are clues in the environment or monster design that clues us into what Murphy's whole deal is. Then I have to remember that it might not be a thing in this game, since the enemies seem more significant to outside factors, such as events in the town or the people that inhabit it instead of Murphy.

The Legend Of Zelda : Breath Of The Wild / Skyward Sword HD and Spider-Man (PS4).

I would say I'm enjoying SSHD more than BOTW, mostly because I think the story really suffered from focusing on the gameplay, what you get is scarce and it doesn't hold my attention as much...gorgeous to look at, though, so it has my interest so far even if it's been brutal as a completely blind playthrough with 0 research put into it compared to how I usually do things.

Medieval Dynasty

Hmm.. Dunno what to say. I just stated this. It is different from what I typically play. Basically it is first person Kingdom building, you start fresh in a new land and have to build a home/settlement and manage it along with recruiting people. There are animals to hunt and threat of bandits. Mostly medieval kingdom play, but carrying over in Dynasties, like if your guy dies then you take over as their kid to continue along. Unless you don't have a kid, then it is basically game over. But yea.. Guess something with a different type of grinding to it. It is alright, I am enjoying it as it feels more relax compared to other game genre types out there.

Outer Wilds: Echoes of the Eye

I loved the original game (I even played one of the student project versions like 10 years ago), so it was a given I'd try the expansion. It's on sale right now so I went ahead and bought it. Played it for about 2 hours so far, but it's just as great as the base game - the mystery, the aesthetics, the clever storytelling...

I can't recommend this game enough. Give it a try if you haven't, but make sure to go in as blind as possible!
