Dragons Fangs and Tiger Claws {1x1 with DarkMudkip}

When Nana turned to face Akihime, there was no teasing smile, her eyes full of tears once more. "We were married for a short time yes." She said shortly. "After killing my family and taking over Dawnstar, he forced me to be his wife. That is, until Lord Yoshitsugu rescued me. I wouldn't joke about my family being slaughtered, and I am not his wife." She turned her head from Akihime. "I intend to see his execution tomorrow."

Akihime was taken aback, "What in the name of the Divines are you talking about?" She muttered. She shook her head, telling Nana that she needn't explain before finishing applying the ointment and allowing Nana to leave before she hurried to the dungeons. Finding Motochika and hearing what he had to say, she was furious. She hurried off to find her father and demand he explain himself, but Mitsunari denied her an audience. "I know what you and Otou-sama did, Jarl." She hissed. Mitsunari only glared, "Thank the Eight I am not allowed to do you harm, woman. Or I would cut that tongue from your mouth." He spat. Akihime fumed even more and hurried off to send word to Ieyasu, asking for his aid. After sending the courier on his way, she went off to the dungeons to help console Motochika while she thought of a way to halt the execution.

Early the next morning, as the sun was rising, six guards came to gather Motochika, no more being needed on account of how weak he had grown from hunger and thirst. Putting his hands behind his back, they put him in irons, taking him out to the block, where a sizable crowd already stood in wait. Nana stood in the front of the crowd, a hateful look burning in her eyes as she watched Motochika be brought up to the block.

"You can't do this!" Akihime protested, trying to convince Yoshitsugu to call off the execution, "Please, Otou-sama, he's innocent!" Motochika followed the guards to the block, passing a glance to Nana before looking away in despair. There was no real point in fighting it anymore; Nana was lost to him, but he took comfort in knowing that she was at least safe and his sons would live on. Akihime tried to pull the guards away but she was pulled back by Mitsunari. She shouted and struggled, demanding that it be stopped. But no one listened - no one tried to stop the execution of a traitor Jarl. He was pushed to his knees and his head over the block so his neck rested on the wood. He closed his eyes and waited; waited for everything to go dark and silent before he would find himself standing to be judged by Tsun so he may enter Shor's Hall. The waiting hurt him the most. Please, just let me die. He thought. But it didn't happen. Before the axe was brought down, the gates to Solitude burst open; a swarm of Stormcloaks rushed in and the crowd scattered in terrified screams. The hold guards did their best to combat the invaders but there was so many. "For Chosokabe! For Skyrim!" Ieyasu's voice traveled over the small militant force before the Jarl was seen juping onto the stand where the execution was displayed and dispatching the guards and headsman. "Ieyasu!!" Mitsunari screamed and threw Akihime aside, rushing to his foe. Ieyasu kept him distracted while two young boys helped to free Motochika.

In all the chaos, Nana was knocked forward and pushed to the ground, shielding her head as the terrified civilians ran to the safety of their homes. Once most of the pushing had subsided, Nana staggered to her feet and looked around in confusion, trying to figure out where to go next.
Both Morichika and Nobuchika worked on freeing their father, breaking the chains and helping him to his feet. "Otou-san, we need to get you out of here, where's Kaa-san?" Morichika called over the roar of fighting.

Motochika looked and nudged his head towards Nana, "Don't bother...she's Legion now..." "What?! No way!" Nobuchika stated, disbelieving, "I'll go get her! She'll see reason!" He stated and rushed off to Nana, throwing caution to the wind.

Nana had decided to leave the chaos and look for somewhere safe to hide, slowly making her way through the crowd toward the open streets. Managing to avoid spears, swords, and other varying weapons, she was stopped when a Stormcloak noticed her. Nana froze as well, eyes wide as the two stared at eachother for a moment, the the guard charged. Raising his sword high into the air, the man pushed Nana back before bringing his sword down toward her, Nana frozen helplessly on the ground, her heart pounding.

"Kaa-san!" Nobuchika blocked the attack and shoved the guard away before plunging his sword straight through his chest. Letting the guard drop, he turned to check and see if Nana was ok, "Are you alright, Kaa-san?"

((That was a Stormcloak btw~))

Nana looked up at the young man before her, slowly shaking her head. "I-I... You're... I don't know who you are.." She looked scared and confused, her eyes wild with complete uncertainty. "I don't know any of you..." She sounded on the verge of panic, trying to get away from Nobuchika.

((Fukken....he was protecting his mom! D': ))

Nobuchika frowned, feeling his heart drop into his stomach, "But...Ma..." He sounded so hurt, "What did those Legion pigs do to you? I'm your son! Nobuchika! Mori is up there with Tou-san!"

Nana followed to where Nobuchika was pointing, looking at the younger boy who helped support Motochika. She felt like she was going to vomit, all these people claimed to know her, and claimed to be her family, yet she felt nothing but fear. Moving back a step she held her head and shook slightly. "But they're all dead..?"

"We aren't dead...! We finally found Pa after he was lost at sea!" "Toss him into the sea, let his precious ocean decide his fate." "No! He's already down! You bastards! Leave him!" "We were reunited in Markarth!" "Don't cry, mama...! It's ok!" "We took everyone as far as we could, like you said! Jarl Ieyasu helped us keep everyone safe from the Legion!" "Please...!" Nobuchika begged, "Please remember...!"

Nana shook her head furiously, trying so hard to remember what he was telling her, if it was at all the truth, she had only just met him. Backing up she was nearly cleaved in two when she stumbled too close to Mitsunari, Stormcloaks collapsing dead around his feet. "L-Lord Ishida.."

Mitsunari was not in control of his emotions. A dark aura was surrounding him, his face dark and his eyes glowing red like a daedra. He turned to her and gripped his blade tight. "Kaa-san, move!" It happened so fast, way too fast. Nobuchika rushed forward and shoved Nana down, protecting her from Mitsunari. Streams of purple flashed all across Nobuchika's body before blood sputtered from his armor. Everything seemed muffled, under water. He couldn't hear Morichika screaming, nor his father, he couldn't hear the battle surrounding him. Nothing. He dropped to his knees and collapsed, blood quickly pooling under him. Mitsunari vanished, going after Ieyasu - who had disappeared while Mitsunari was distracted.

Nana hit the ground just before Nobuchika did, a soft grunt coming from her as she hit the ground a bit too rough. Looking back up, she watched the young man fall, and then everything seemed to slow down. Nana's eyes widened as everything hit her all at once.
Nobuchika was hurt.
Crawling quickly toward her fallen son she gathered him in her arms, tears quickly blurring her vision. "N-Nobuchika..!" She looked for something to stop the bleeding, settling with tearing her dress and pressing the fine fabric against his chest. "Nobuchika, you have to stay- you have to stay awake, I'm going to fix this.." She worked quickly at undoing the straps on his chest plate so she could heal him. "I remember, I remember you, and your brother, and your father... I remember when you forged your first blade." She got the armor off and started to heal him.
Nobuchika was dying.
"I remember when you left to enlist in the Stormcloaks... I remember.." Her tears were falling heavily now, falling into Nobuchika.

Nobuchika managed a smile, blood falling from the corners of his mouth, "I-I'm so glad..." He wheezed. His wounds were refusing to heal, Mitsunari had cut him in such a way that the cells could not regenerate. "I-I'm so glad you remember..." He was struggling to stay conscious enough to speak with her before he went to Sovngarde. "Remember...remember when Mori and I...caught our first fish...? We had both made the net ourselves..." He laughed and wheezed, more blood oozing from his wounds. Motochika couldn't move, wouldn't move. He was frozen in shock, watching the life slowly leave his eldest as his wife tried to keep him alive. Please, sweet Talos, let this be just a fever dream - a horrible fever dream that he couldn't wake up from.

Nana started to cry, doing her best to hold back her sobs as she nodded her head. "It was a damn good net." She said, still not halting her healing, even if it did nothing. "Please don't die, Nobuchika, please... I can't lose another child, please, Gods please don't take my son.." She begged, a ringing slowly growing louder in her ears. "I love you so much, Nobuchika.. I love both you and your brother with all my heart... Forgive me for being gone so long." She refused to look at the terrible wounds on his stomach, never breaking eye contact with him once.

He grinned from ear to ear, to reassure her that everything was going to be ok. "I love you, too, Kaa-san...i-it's ok..." He told her and put his hand over hers, "I'm not afraid...I-I knew this would happen one day...just didn't think it would come so soon..." He laughed weakly, "I'm happy...b-because you can continue on...a-and make Tou-san happy...and Mori happy, too.." He told her.

She took his hands in hers, finally coming to terms that her sons life could not be saved. Holding his hands tightly, she kissed his knuckles, shaking hard. "Please don't do this, Nobuchika, please.." She begged, holding onto her sons hands like her life depended on it.

"I'm so sorry, Kaa-san...there's nothing I can do..." He said, "I'll sing praise of you and Tou-san in Shor's mead hall..." He smiled weakly and gave her hands a gentle loving squeeze. "I love you, Kaa-san..." His grip began to loosen more and more, his eyes slowly closing, "I love you...and Tou...san...and...Mori..." And then he was gone, swept away to the promised grace and beauty of Sovngarde. Motochika was hanging on to Morichika not only for physical support but emotional. "Nobu..." Tears poured down his cheek, his jaw clenched, "Nobuchika!!"

Nana sat there clutching her sons hands, even after life left his body. Finally breaking down completely, she begain to wail, gathering Nobuchika's lifeless body in her arms and rocking back and forth.
Even with all the fighting going on just inches from her, she refused to move to safety, trying to keep her sons body from being disturbed.
The sound of a horn signaled the Stormcloaks retreat, as they were beginning to become overwhelmed by Imperial reinforcements.
"Tou-san, we have to go!" Morichika called over the roar of the crowd, tears still falling steadily down his face as he looked up at his father.

"But, Nana!" He protested, "We can't leave her!" "I'll guard her, Lord Chosokabe.." Akihime approached quickly with Ieyasu, "You must leave." "Come, Motochika." Ieyasu helped Morichika carry Motochika away, who continued to protest his refusal to leave without Nana.

Nana clutched her dead son to her chest, cradling him and petting his hair, regardless of being covered in his blood. She sobbed his name quietly, rocking him gently until she saw Akihime appear before her. "A-Akihime-dono..." She looked up at her with broken eyes. "Please, help him- heal him, please..!"

Akihime frowned deeply and knelt beside Nana and her late son, "Nana-dono..." Tears stung her eyes, feeling the sting of losing Daisuke fresh in her chest, "Nana-dono, I am so sorry...there is nothing I can do...there is no life in his flesh..." Her voice quaked with grief and heartache, "I wish I could heal him, I really wish I could..."

Nana shook her head and choked out another sob, resting her forehead against her sons head, nuzzling him gently. "Please don't take another child from me, please... Please..."
