Kidnapped to Zendac (DareToDream and TheDuchess)

Alexan knew the minute she opened her eyes but not because he saw it. No, something inside of him changed, something involving their magic and the way it danced together inside him, swirling about in an intricate dance all its own. If he’d had to describe it later, he’d say that it was almost like it cheered when she woke up but thankfully he’d not have to describe it. One less occasionally to make himself sound foolish. He felt her move her arm against his and begin to feed him her magic and he smiled. She was learning…and just in time too. He took the magic she gave him, using it to restore his own and sending a teeny bit back to ease the pain in her arm. His eyes never left the demon that walked towards them though he wondered just how powerful this one was that he could pull them out of a teleport in mid-stream.

She watched Alexan then turned her head back to the demon before flinging her good arm out sending her tiny fire ball outwards towards the demon hopefully to distract him with the fact that she sent it instead of alexan, she then wrapped her arm around alexan and teleported them to the living room, she grunted when she landed on her bad arm and breathed roughly pushing herself up and coming over to alexan looking at him " get the shields up now" she urged him before helping him up and onto the couch because of his bad ribs.

His eyes widened in shock as he watched Susan throw a fireball at the demon approaching them. When he saw that it was a small one, he thought he’d faint with pride. Faced with an incredibly dangerous situation, knowing she was still learning, she’d tried to distract the demon. Imagine his surprise when he felt them teleport again, suddenly appearing in their living room, Susan’s grunt drawing his attention. Her words spoken in urgency, he closed his eyes and with a thought, brought their home defenses fully online reinforcing them again and again. Moving to the couch with her help, he turned and faced her, his hands reaching out to her arm, his own pain forgotten. As he touched her, his magic flared to life and a red blaze covered her arm, knitting her bone back together. He then took her face in his hands, bringing his forehead to rest against hers. “Thank you” he said. “What you did back there was very brave. You reacted quickly and you saved us.” Pulling back and taking her hand, he placed it on his ribcage. “See if you can heal my injury. Just close your eyes and call your magic, the slip inside me and fix it. We’re safe enough for now.” He watched her, waiting to see if she’d try.

She felt the pain leave her arm and she gently flexed her fingers focusing in on his inguries and tried to knit his own bones back together, she breathed softly and felt a light blue emit from her finger tips and cured his ribs, when she was finished she moved her fingers around his torso gently and felt to make sure everything was in the right place, she turned her eyes up at him and smiled " i was so scared Alexan " she breathed softly and wrapped her arms around his neck easily and climbed up in his lap keeping awfully close to him feeling safe like this.

He closed his eyes as he saw the blue light at her finger tips, letting her work her magic. Soon he felt his ribs knitting together and moving back into place, the pain easing. He took a deep breath when it was done, elated that he could breath without pain. A shiver sped through his body as he felt her fingers slowly inspect him for further injuries, which he thankfully didn’t have. The impact with the ground and the building had damaged his ribs and nothing else. Her smile, when she turned it on him, melted him inside a little, so glad that she was ok and still with him. “I know. I was also” he whispered, shivering again as she climbed into his lap and molded herself against him, her warmth seeping into his. He wrapped his arms around her, holding her tight. “But we’re safe now. You made that happen.” He stroked her hair softly and held her, not wanting to let her go.

She breathed softly and stayed close to him, she wasn't sure as to why but it felt nice to be close to him, she lifted her head slightly to look at him, she saw his eyes closed and smiled as she leaned forward slowly and gently pressed her lips against his and slowly closing her eyes she sat up straighter and tilted her head slightly gracing his cheek with her finger tips lightly.

He felt her lips graze his and his heart felt like it was exploding in his chest, his magic surging outward and wrapping her in a warm cocoon. He opened his eyes when he felt her fingers on his cheek and looked at her, a smile on his lips. He reached up and took her hand in his, winding his fingers into hers, then bent down and returned her kiss. It was gentle and sweet, just a light brush of his lips to hers but he felt his magic surge again at the touch, flaring bright around them.

She breathed softly and held his hand easily keeping her eyes closed feeling warm and comfortable in his arms, she sat up a bit pushing herself a bit against him making it as passionate as she could, surprisingly she wasn't experienced in the whole making things like this passionate but she did try and hopefully she succeeded

Alexan felt her move, pushing against him a little, her body scraping against his in a sinfully delicious manner, causing a small moan to escape him. Her lips molded to his as he deepened their kiss, his arms tightening around her to hold her in his embrace before his hands slid up her back and tangled in her hair. He could feel his magic caressing hers, teasing along its edges and melding occasionally and that reaction fascinated him, though not enough to pull him away from her. Her warmth, the feeling of her heart, beating in her chest in way that he felt the vibrations in his, her touch, all of it was sending flares of excitement through his very being, as if they were speaking soul to soul.

She breathed softly and moved closer to him keeping her arms up around his head before slowly pulling away from the kiss to catch her breath and look down at him and run her fingers over his head softly " i'm sorry " she said and blushed slightly " that was rude of me to do" she pulled back gently and sat on her side, this wasn't the time to be doing this, she felt so stupid.

Alexan sighed as she broke their kiss and pulled away a little, his breath hitching as he fought to get it under control. He shivered slightly as she ran her fingers over his head and turned to her when she apologized. Seeing her blush, he felt his own slide over his skin and he smiled. “Don’t apologize” he said, reaching out and lightly stroking his thumb over her cheek. “I enjoyed that very much. Holding you like this feels really nice” he murmured, his eyes closing a little as he watched her. “I think our magic liked it also.” He snuggled her closer then, letting a hand lightly stroke her back, just holding her. “I enjoyed today immensely” he said, continuing his light strokes. “Well, up until the moment with the other demon.” He paused, kissing her forehead lightly. “That kiss though, that chased away all my fears and pain so thank you.” He sighed again lightly, just holding her then.

She smiled and looked over at him gently before moving to lay down on his lap and sighed softly " im so tired Alex" she said softly and closed her eyes slowly pushing her hair back letting out a rather large yawn before reaching out and opened her laptop " you never got to see the paintings i have sold" she said lightly and opened up something before making it go full screen and a slide show so he could see them, she smiled and closed her eyes slowly to let him watch it.

As she laid her head in his lap, he rested a hand on her shoulder. Her yawn made him smile. “It’s been a long day Susan. You should rest” he murmured, brushing his fingers through her hair. He’d stay here with her while she slept if she wanted. “No, I didn’t” he said as he watched her reach forward and open her laptop on the table. When she triggered the screen, seeming to expand the picture box on it, he smiled. He glanced down and saw her close her eyes and he ran a hand down her back lightly, trying to sooth her. As the slides began to move, he tuned into the screen, raptly watching as her various paintings were displayed. She was a wonderful painter – her works were so vivid and vibrant and colorful. He didn’t see a single one that he utterly disliked. Of course, some grabbed him more than others but that was to be expected. By the time the slide show ended, he could tell Susan had fallen asleep, her breathing even and relaxed. He left the laptop playing, the slide show repeating itself, and closed his eyes, resting his head against the back of the couch. He let his magic flow over the home, checking his defenses and, when satisfied, bathed the two of them in it, letting the magic sooth their aches and pains and deeper her sleep. She needed her rest after the day they’d had. Those were his last thoughts as he slowly drifted off into sleep also.

The sun tickled her eye lids as she slept and made her open her eyes, that had been the best sleep she had ever gotten, she yawned and slowly realized she was in his lap and looked at him immediately , she watched his sleeping face and smiled before getting up careful not to disturb him, she closed her dead laptop and went to the kitchen quietly getting a few things out for breakfast, making her famous egg white omelet with parmesan cheese, green onions, turkey and bacon bits, she cooked them slowly letting the aroma fill the air hoping to wake him up with the smell of food, she pulled her hair up as she did all the fixings for him.

His nose twitched as awareness slowly crept in, led by the delightful aroma of cooking food. He opened his eyes and immediately noticed that Susan wasn’t on his lap anymore, nor was the laptop open. Looking back over his shoulder, he saw her standing at the oven, clearly cooking whatever was causing his nose to twitch. Standing slowly, he stretched and yawned, then closed his eyes. He sent his magic out into the house, checking every layer of defense, making sure they were still intact. When he was satisfied, he padded into the kitchen, coming up behind her. He put his hands on her shoulders and kissed the top of her head gently as he sighed. “Good morning” he murmured. “That smells divine. Is there anything I can do to help?” He mouth was already watering from the smell of the food and his stomach rumbled softly.

She smiled and looked back at him "good morning sleepy head, and no im just about done with yours, but you can get the juice and the glasses down " she smiled and poured his breakfast onto a plate easily and took them towards the table and placing them easily down then getting the forks and came back sitting down easily, she grabbed the salt and pepper and sprinkled it over hers, waiting for him to come back.

He smiled down at her. “I guess I did sleep pretty well. Come to think of it, I’ve slept pretty well the last two nights.” Of course, the last two nights, she had been with him. “It must be your warmth” he said jokingly. He moved away from her then, grabbing the juice and a couple of glasses and joining her at the table. The food looked delicious and his stomach rumbled again, drawing a laugh out of him. “I think my stomach wants your food” he said, grinning. Sitting down, he took a bite. “Mmm, this is delicious” he said. He waited for her to get settled and start eating before he continued. “I was thinking that today, maybe we could pack a picnic lunch and visit Kateroc Falls. It’s a remote waterfall that is very beautiful.”

She frowned and looked at him " you want to go out after what happened yesterday?" she asked still worried about it all and took a bite of her food and sipping her juice and yawning softly " and thank you, im glad you like it" she ate slowly being hungry as well, she wondered if he was insane for even mentioning going outside, but a waterfall sounded nice to her and she desperately wanted to see it.. maybe go swimming before lunch, the thought made her smile all the same.

Alexan smiled at her words and understood them. In all honesty, he questioned his sanity a little bit also, but the idea had sprung into his mind and he thought it was a good one. They couldn’t stay locked up in the house forever, even if that did seem like the safest route to take. Well, he supposed they could, but there would be no fun in that. Eventually, they’d both go stir crazy and begin to fight between themselves and he didn’t want that to ever happen if he could avoid it. He considered talking to the Council about it but he discarded that idea immediately; they had no power over the higher level demons and they would consider the petition a sign of weakness on his part. He didn’t need more enemies at this point. No, it was obvious that if they hoped to have a normal life together, they would have to face each encounter that came their way and demonstrate that, together, they were stronger. He relayed his thoughts to Susan. “When we’re done eating, maybe we can spend an hour or two working on your magic again, this time focusing on how to use each other’s powers to strengthen the other and some more offensive skills for you. Then we can venture out for that picnic.”

She listened then shook her head looking at him " uggg don't do that.... its creepy!" she said and wrinkled her nose cutely at him in annoyance before she went back to eating , she finished and sat back drinking her juice lightly " we can do that... and we are running low on food... so we are going to have to get some " she said quietly and got up taking her plate into the kitchen and washing it easily as well as the pans that she used to cook with, she came back to him and wrapped her arms gently around his neck and leaned over him easily and kissed his cheek softly.

Alexan looked at her funny, wondering what in the heck she was talking about…..then suddenly realized he’d relayed his thoughts telepathically without thinking about it. He started to apologize but the words never made it out of his mouth as the realization of what that meant sunk in. A telepathic bond between magic users was very rare because it required absolute trust and a connection on a deeper level, something most magic users never allowed to happen. As he watched Susan wash the dishes, he thought about that for a moment. He knew their magic had already intermingled, that was clear from earlier, but apparently it was more tied together than he’d first realized. That thought scared him a little, and thrilled him at the same time. He debated about saying anything to her but the thought was lost as she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed his cheek. He closed his eyes, his magic caressing hers briefly. “Food is good….but we should talk first” he finally managed to say.

She frowned slightly and pulled back from him slightly " what's wrong?" she asked and stood beside him her hand on his back and a concerned look on her face, she wasn't sure what he wanted to talk about but she read his body language and immediately jumped to the worst possible thing, it could be anything but she didn't realize that her thoughts were going to him, and the way she thought it was how every woman thought, about 15 different things at once, 'oh god was he just being nice last night when i kissed him? did he suddenly change his mind about everything and figured that im not worth the trouble?' the questions pored out of her mind as she thought them and she had no idea that she was doing it.

Alexan’s eyes widened as her thoughts came pouring into his mind, all jumbled and out of sorts. He tried to sort through them but they came so fast and so hard that he was only able to catch one thought in its entirety. It was enough to tell him how to put her worries at ease though so he stood and put his hands on both sides of her face and leaned in, kissing her. He held the kiss, savoring it, pouring what he felt for her into it, and then pulled back, already feeling a blush spread across his cheeks. “No, I wasn’t just being nice” he murmured before letting go and taking a step back. His breathing was hard and he tried to focus on what he needed to tell her but all he could think about was her instead. Finally, shaking his head, he took her hand and led her over to the couch, sitting down and pulling her down next to him. “What I need to tell you will reinforce that I wasn’t simply being nice last night” he said, squeezing her hand “but it might also scare the heck out of you.” He took a deep breath, then another before continuing. “While not unheard of, telepathic communication between magic users is extremely rare. It requires deep trust but it also requires a deep emotional connection on some level. Normally, those two things don’t happen between magic users because they always hold a piece of themselves back from each other. Heck, we’re trained to do that for the most part, to never reveal our true strength and to never release control of our emotions to another.” He took another deep breath. “I knew that we were growing close – our magic working in sync inside each of us proves that – but somewhere along the way, something changed, became…..more. I suspect it happened last night, with our first kiss.” He glanced away now, looking off across the room, trying to gather the last of his thoughts. He kept looking away when he continued. “I can teach you how to block your thoughts but I don’t know of anyway to break the connection short of death. If I did, I’m also not sure I’d want to break it.” He turned back to her now, taking both of her hands in his. “I’m a better person because of this connection….because of you Susan.” He closed his eyes then, done with words for now.

She listened to him and thought of nothing but just taking in the words that he spoke, she looked away from him after he was done then turning back to him " so until i master that i won't be able to have a private thought?" she asked with a serious look on her face keeping her hands in his as she stared directly at him.

Alexan watched her look away, then back again, enjoying the feel of her hands in his. “Technically, yes, at least with me. No one else can hear your thoughts” he answered. “I can block my mind from your thoughts though, until you learn how to shield them from me. I’ll do that now.” He closed his eyes then and, while still holding her hand, imagined a wall going up around his mind. He strengthened it, creating a blazing red wall. Opening his eyes, he smiled. “Done. Close your eyes and try to toss a thought my way. If it worked, you should see an image of your magic bouncing off mine.”
