Well he believes that he has to ACT and attempt to show SOME restraint as he wants to be a RESPECTABLE demon, who's known as a DEMON and not some sort of creature that's just SO DAMN close to being branded as an 'incubus'. It's more of an issue of him wanting to be 'good' to some extent, since he doesn't particularly find any excitement in doing what a demon would normally do, hell he's even a virgin too.

Indeed, though Xeres to some extent is a sort of... 'Gatsby'-esque character.

I made up that term to describe a character who has traits similar to that of Gatsby from the novel The Great Gatsby

great character to a very boring book to me, i would love to see Gatsby's character in a different, more exciting setting
