Carrie looked up at Josh as he spoke reassuring words to her, words that no doubt were meant to comfort and ease. She was grateful for his kindness and care, the fact that he was willing to open up his place to her as he was. Times were rough indeed and resources scarce. The fact that he was gracious and willing to share spoke volumes of his character and the way he'd handled himself earlier made it clear that he was a true survivor. Yes, he was one she could definitely learn from... if he was willing to teach her, to take the time. But, would he? It was a lot to ask and he probably had better things to do... She could only hope... still, she held on to that notion given his further gestures of kindness, her eyes glancing at his hand as he reached out to gently touch her. He was oddly warm, something she hadn't expected. Metal was supposed to be cold. Wasn't it? Then again, nothing about him seemed cold... nothing at all.
"Again, thank you," Carrie said as her skin was consumed by yet another heated blush. "I feel like I have a personal body guard." She gave Josh a warm smile as her eyes connected with his. Tilting her head a bit, she dropped her hands to her side, raising one so that she could tuck a stray lock of brown behind an ear. She truly felt fortunate and beyond lucky. Never had she expected to be saved as she'd been and now she was starting to feel a bit more at ease with each passing moment thanks to Josh.
Carrie entered the bathroom and took a look at the tub. She checked to see where the stopper was and get an idea of where all the essentials were that she'd be able to use for her bath. When Josh stepped out, she gave him another smile, her eyes averting and fixing upon the tiled floor while her cheeks flushed just a bit more. She overheard him mention a name. A friend, perhaps? She figured this Steve must be. Suddenly there was a whistling sound--the water was ready. Giggling softly, she stepped out of the bathroom and made her way to where Josh was.
"I can help you with the water," Carried stated. "It's the least I can do." Smiling, she extended her hand and offered to help.
