Carrie looked up at Josh as he spoke reassuring words to her, words that no doubt were meant to comfort and ease. She was grateful for his kindness and care, the fact that he was willing to open up his place to her as he was. Times were rough indeed and resources scarce. The fact that he was gracious and willing to share spoke volumes of his character and the way he'd handled himself earlier made it clear that he was a true survivor. Yes, he was one she could definitely learn from... if he was willing to teach her, to take the time. But, would he? It was a lot to ask and he probably had better things to do... She could only hope... still, she held on to that notion given his further gestures of kindness, her eyes glancing at his hand as he reached out to gently touch her. He was oddly warm, something she hadn't expected. Metal was supposed to be cold. Wasn't it? Then again, nothing about him seemed cold... nothing at all.

"Again, thank you," Carrie said as her skin was consumed by yet another heated blush. "I feel like I have a personal body guard." She gave Josh a warm smile as her eyes connected with his. Tilting her head a bit, she dropped her hands to her side, raising one so that she could tuck a stray lock of brown behind an ear. She truly felt fortunate and beyond lucky. Never had she expected to be saved as she'd been and now she was starting to feel a bit more at ease with each passing moment thanks to Josh.

Carrie entered the bathroom and took a look at the tub. She checked to see where the stopper was and get an idea of where all the essentials were that she'd be able to use for her bath. When Josh stepped out, she gave him another smile, her eyes averting and fixing upon the tiled floor while her cheeks flushed just a bit more. She overheard him mention a name. A friend, perhaps? She figured this Steve must be. Suddenly there was a whistling sound--the water was ready. Giggling softly, she stepped out of the bathroom and made her way to where Josh was.

"I can help you with the water," Carried stated. "It's the least I can do." Smiling, she extended her hand and offered to help.

Josh lifted the large bucket up and it looked like a 5 gallon container. He used his Cybernetic arm to carry the heavy container "No I got it" He said to her as he made his way to the bathroom where he poured the water into the tub and he added some of the Cold water from the container in the bathroom to make the water warm but not boiling. He looked to her and he set the container down in a corner of the room and he hands her a towel he had picked up along the way "Now I might have some clothes that might fit you if you want to change clothes?" He asked her alittle unsure of how she thought of him and his kindness to her. He placed his hands on his hips as he looked at her. He never was good with people at all. Thus is why he mostly kept to himself.

A smile lit up Carrie's face as Josh took the water and set up the bath for her. It was a gentlemanly gesture. "Thank you," she said softly before biting down on her lip. She then followed him back to the bathroom and watched him set up the bath with great care, adjusting the temperature for her so that it would be just right. She had to admit it was rather sweet of him to take the time to pay attention to such details, especially given the conditions they all had to live in now. Especially with those monsters loose on the outside of the walls.

A shiver ran along Carrie's spine at the thought of those monsters, those flesh eaters. Mark had always been there to protect her and shield her from all the nasties on the planet since the crash. And in doing that, he'd ended up killed... leaving her alone. How Josh had managed to find her was truly a miracle and she wouldn't take it for granted. She knew if Mark was still alive, he'd be grateful that she'd been found by him and for all that he was doing to protect and care for his sister.

When Josh finished up with the water and turned around, Carrie found her eyes immediately drawn to his. She took the towel he offered and smiled, the air suddenly feeling a bit warm. Just then, she felt a slight weight upon her hips and she turned her head toward the floor. As she shifted her gaze, her cheeks reddened and she caught a glimpse of his hands resting upon her hips.

Carrie's smile grew a little and she looked back up at Josh and nodded. "Fresh clothes would be nice, if even just for the night. Thank you," she said. Her voice was still quite soft as she spoke. "You've been so very kind to me. Thank you," she then added. At that, she brought one of her hands up to touch his face, hardly caring about the cybernetics infused with flesh. She was grateful and wanted him to know that. Besides, she hadn't felt this safe in a while and it was nice to finally feel that way.

Josh smiled as se touched his face. Though he knew where she touched she could feel the thick cybernetics on that side of his face but atleast they looked mostly normal. He stepped aside from her and he motioned her to the bath "I'll go see if I can find any clothes. I'll put them on the table outside the door for you. I know your dieing for that bath" He laughed alittle as he walked outside the bathroom and he closed the door behind him. She seemed to be a sweet girl, He thought. Though when she was near him he didn't hear the Voices as strongly.

Keith had himself sometime to think in bathroom. He had to just an convince himself that this wasn't going to end up being wrong. He knew he wanted to leave this planet and go home but he doesn't know if he even has a home to go to back on earth, the real earth in his mind. This girl knows how to get off of here so if she is alive then he could make it as well, but he never thought of using someone not before anyway. He was going to have to talk about it tomorrow.

He finished washing and drained his tub, putting on a t-shirt and cargo pants on. He carried his body armor with him to the living room close to the door and looked around, it really seem peaceful if not for the mindless flesh eater roaming around.

Carrie smiled warmly, her dark eyes averting for a brief moment as she let out a tiny sound that was almost a giggle. She looked back up into Josh's eyes and nodded then. "Yes, I am," she admitted, her cheeks going pink as she clutched the towel tightly and brought it up to rest just beneath her chin.

When Josh had walked out of the room, Carrie watched him leave. And once alone, she trusted that he'd set the clothes outside the door just as he'd promised and as such began to prepare for her bath. She set the towel down beside the tub and slowly began to peel her clothes from her body--corset top first, followed by her skirt. Carefully, she set the garments aside, taking care to fold them neatly. Standing there for a moment in her underthings, she let out a soft contented sigh. She looked at the steamy water and smiled, giggling softly at the thought of soaking for a little bit and then washing up. At that, she began to slide off her underthings until she stood there fully revealed in all her pale flesh. Feeling a bit modest, despite being alone, she brought her arms up about herself as if to cover up. She then walked toward the tub and slowly stepped in until she finally submersed her body within the soothing heat of the water that Josh had so kindly prepared for her.

The water felt wonderful as it kissed her skin. Carrie couldn't help but sigh and close her eyes as she sat there soaking, allowing her body and muscles to relax. She felt safe for the first time in a long time and it was nice. For several minutes, she actually laid back a bit and closed her eyes. When she finally opened them once more, she reached for a hair band and twisted her dark hair up into a sloppy knot--something to get it up off her back. She then reached for some soap and began to work up a rich lather between her hands. When satisfied, she ran her hands over her arms first and then down along her front, her hands cupping her breasts a bit as she washed herself. A tiny smile played on her lips as her hands continued to move along her skin, working their way down, down, down, until she washed each leg and was finally rinsing herself off completely.

When finished with her bath, Carrie reached for her towel and carefully stepped out of the tub. She held onto the edge so as to make sure not to slip and once safely standing next to it, reached for the stopper so that she could drain it of the soapy water. Standing upright, she rubbed the towel over her wet skin, drying herself off. When done, she wrapped it about her tiny body, the material hugging her frame and accentuating her curves. She then slowly opened the door and peeked out to see if Josh had left the clothes.

"Josh?" Carrie called out. "Are you still there?"

Dusk smiled and kissed her hand she looked so frightened like that almost like a bird afraid to land. "No worries it will take far more then this to keep me down" Many of the doors and windows were blocked by the remains of the safe house. A long passage looked to be something that ran the length of the wall. He moved slowly snapping and throwing a glow stick deep into the passage. He could see nothing but that did not mean they were safe. "I wanted to get you alone but this is not what i had in mind" He took her hand and led her deeper into the maze of tunnels and passages.

His side aced he could feel the damage under the skin that could not be seen. The passage led to a small alter no doubt one of the deatheater cults the planet was famous for. Severus stood as an idol depicting the god as a mutilated woman. The unlife were the servants of Severus or so the death eaters believed. "Well we won't starve" He handed her some food from the offering table. At least this sect did not seem to poison there offerings. The food was stale but otherwise it was in good condition. He could hear the unlife through the walls as they overcame any living human they found.

Dusk threw his coat out apparently the deatheaters knelt on the bare earth. Candles burned in crevices dug into the naked stone walls of the cavern. He sat close to Lace the room was not that warm nor did the candles add much in the way of heat. "You think they will get this all settled down" If they did not they would have to leave the city far sooner then he had planned. There was the mobil an advanced cart human powered. "I think any new dates will have to be better then this" So at least the future could only get better from there out.

Josh had walked into another room after leaving Carrie in the Bathroom to search his collection of bartered clothes and goods till he had found some clothes that he thought might fit her. He picked up a t-shirt and jeans and some underwear and even a simple night gown and he walked back towards the bathroom and he placed the clothes on the table and he heard her splashing in the water and he smirked as he walked away and he sat at his work table and he started to work on his latest weapon order.

After a few minutes he hears her call out his name he he called out to her in return "Im in the living room" He called back to her. He set his goggles aside and sets his tools down.

Lacey followed Dusk as he bravely led her through the safe house despite his wound and other possible injuries. She had to admit he was one hell of a guy--brave, strong... amazing. He led her through the place, moving past the fallen debris of the roof and finally out into the hall, past the cultist objects that some had erected as a means of coping with the rise of the monsters. Seeing those scared her a little, but she couldn't fault the people for leaning toward such ways. It was desperate times since the crash and life was hard. And now with the flesh eaters constantly battering down on their walls, it was even harder on them all to gather resources and live normal lives. They needed something to hold onto, to look toward. Something to give them comfort.

Finally, they stopped and settled down in a room that seemed isolated enough. Lacey glanced about the place. It was one of those cultist rooms. A shiver ran along her spine. She wondered how many people had prayed to false gods and made false claims or had false hopes in that room. But, no matter. They'd be safe in there for the time being until things settled further and she had no doubt that things would eventually calm down. Word would spread and eventually the guards would comes and get things under wraps. They always did when such things occurred. Thankfully, such incidents were few and far between. Still, at least they had shelter and food in the mean time, not to mention each other.

Lacey nodded and smiled at Dusk, her body shifting to be a bit closer to his. She then leaned her head against his shoulder, taking care not to put too much weight on him so as not to aggravate his injury. "I think it will. It has to," she said. "The guards will come. They can't miss what's going on forever and a fair number were killed before we left the scene." She moved a bit closer and giggled softly. "And this date wasn't so bad," she stated before lifting her head to look at him. Her cheeks were flushed and her blue eyes sparkled. "I got to spend it with you. I just hope we get to have a second... and a third..." Her smile broadened and she raised a hand to tuck a stray lock of blonde behind an ear before moving it to touch his arm.

Carrie looked down and noticed the clothes, her hand reaching out to grab them. She then heard Josh call out from up the hall. A smile spread across her lips at the sound of his voice. It was reassuring to hear it, to know she truly wasn't alone. Still smiling, she took the clothes back into the bathroom with her. She quickly inspected them to see what she'd been given--jeans, t-shirt, nightgown and some underwear. Given the hour, she decided to put on the nightgown. So, she folded up the jeans and t-shirt and placed them with her corset and skirt and then put on the nightgown. It was a white filmy material, very soft against the skin. It made her smile as she put it on. She then put on the underwear, a pair of pale pink panties. Once dressed, she padded back out into the hall, her hand reaching up to her dark hair to pull out the sloppy knot that had been holding it in place during her bath.

Josh turned around and he walks into his kitchen again and with the big Iron stove and oven it looked more attuned to a Blacksmiths forge. He heated up the Oven and he washed his hands in an alchol/water mixture and he prepared their meal they were to share, granted he wasn't expecting company when he bought the meat so he hoped it would be enough. He put the meat within the oven and then he shook his head to subside the Voices and he heard soft footsteps padding down the hallway and he turned to meet Carrie as she walked up to the Kitchen and the heat of the room was more so then the heat of her bath from the two cookers but the air smell of cooking meat and garlic and some sweet smelling spices unknown to her offhand. Josh looked at his nightgowned guest and he tilted his head "Do they fit? I wasn't a whole 100% sure of your sizes so I had to guess alittle." He admits to her as he turns back to the kitchen and picks up a knife and slices 2 apples into slices for their dinner.

The aroma wafting from down the hall was strong and hit her hard as Carrie approached the kitchen. The smell, though strong, was rather pleasant and made her tummy rumble slightly, making her realize just how hungry she'd become. In all the excitement of the earlier events of the evening, she'd nearly forgotten. But now that she'd had some time to settle down, ease her nerves a bit and wash up, she could take in the delightful smells and allow herself to think on such luxuries as a meal. And from the scent that struck her nose, whatever it was that Josh was preparing, it smelled quite wonderful to her.

When Carrie met Josh in the hall just before the kitchen, she looked up into Josh's eyes and smiled, her hands clasping in front of her body in a shy gesture. "Yes," she said, her cheeks flushing a little. "It fits quite well." At that, she unclasped her hands and began to smooth out the nightgown, her hands running across her thighs a few times before she stopped and dropped them to her sides. "Thank you." She giggled softly as she smiled at him, her hand moving to twist her fingers through her dark tresses. She then peered around him, her expression showing slight curiosity. "Whatever you are making in there... it smells good," she stated, her voice going quiet as she suddenly bit down on her lip. "May I ask what you are making? I could help, if you'd like." She turned her gaze back to his, her lips still turned up into a smile, her fingers running through her hair. "It's the least I could do after all you've done for me."

Carrie smiled, a sweeping heat rising to her cheeks as Josh told her not to worry about helping. He truly was showing her much kindness, much more than she'd expected anyone would ever show another given how desperate times had become since the outbreak of the virus, since the arrival of those flesh eating monsters. After the crash, she'd only depended upon one person--her brother. And he didn't allow her to venture out much, always fearful of the things she'd have to face if he wasn't there. But now... now she had no choice. He was gone and she had to make it on her own. She had to learn how to cope and live, to trust and survive. And so far, she'd been rather fortunate despite the earlier incident.

"Your own recipe?" Carrie then stated more than asked, a tiny giggle escaping her as she peered around him once again. "Well, it smells delicious." She then watched Josh set out some cups and sat herself down. She reached out for the cup, her delicate fingers wrapped about it and she brought it to her lips so that she could take a sip. When she set it down, she gave him a smile. "Back on Earth I was from the state of New York, upstate. My brother Mark and I, along with our parents, traveled on the Neuleben hoping to find a better life..." Her voice trailed a moment and her eyes teared slightly. "My parents didn't survive the crash and Mark... he died not too long ago in an accident."

Carrie bit down on her lip when she heard her voice begin to falter a little. She brought a hand up and brushed at her dark eyes so as to wipe away the tears she felt forming, threatening to spill down her cheeks as she spoke of her past. Everything was so fresh, so raw and it made her regret in so many ways that they'd ever boarded that ship those five years back. But one couldn't change history or time. Life was how it was and now she had to deal with the aftermath and move on.

"Anyway," Carrie then continued, trying her best to conceal her emotions. "I'm not anything much. Just another person in Neuleben trying to live another day." She smiled almost sheepishly. "Not sure how well I'm doing. But I'm trying." She began to play with her dark hair again, her fingers absently twisting a few tendrils. "How about you?"

He checks on the roast again "You seem to be doing fine though" He laughs and he picks up two oven mitts and he takes the roast out. He sets the large plate of meat onto the table and she can finally see what is it. The roast is a golden brown and the long curly tail curled over it and she could clearly see. His special roast, Was a catsized rat. Josh looked at her and he smiled as he sat down at the table having been used to the cheap meal.

Carrie felt the heat rise to her cheeks and she was certain that they were turning a shade or two of scarlet. She bit down on her lip, her thoughts mulling over how Josh had lost his family as well, though even longer ago than herself. How hard it must've been to live alone for so long and then to have to leave all those memories behind for a new life elsewhere. Then again, perhaps that was a means to cope. Perhaps it was easier leaving those memories behind. She had to admit it was much easier being with Josh and in his place than it was being back in the place that she and her brother had shared. All too often she found that she couldn't sleep, that she'd lie awake afraid that the nightmares would resume. Every corner was filled with reminders and now she was finally moving past them in a sense.

"Thanks," Carrie said softly, her fingers still twirling her dark tresses absently as she leaned against the table. She reached for her cup again so that she could sip at her drink. When she set it back down, she looked over at Josh and furrowed a brow. "I'm sorry you lost your family too." Her voice was just above a whisper and her fingers began to trace the rim of her cup.

Just then, Josh moved to take the meat he was cooking out of the oven. When he opened it, the smell grew stronger and Carrie couldn't help but broaden her smile. Her tummy rumbled and she patted it, her cheeks reddening just a bit more from embarrassment. She was definitely hungry and the food smelled delicious. At that, Josh set the meat out for her to see and instantly her dark eyes went wide.

"Oh!" Carrie exclaimed before biting down on her lip. She was a bit surprised to see the large rat. But she was grateful nonetheless. Beggars couldn't be choosers and being able to properly hunt for any sort of game was becoming increasingly difficult with the flesh eating monsters swarming the area. "Thank you," she said. "This looks wonderful." Still smiling, she shifted in her seat and readied herself for the meal that Josh had made. "I appreciate you sharing this with me."

He looked at her and he motioned to her "By all means help yourself you look like skin and bones" He smirked at the joke. He leaned back in his chair and he sipped from his cup "It wasn't by choice how I lost my family. I was kidnapped by a company I worked for and after I was hurt on the job they rebuilt me as a test subject. After many weeks of test on my brain they shot me into space to get rid of me.... I'm still feeling the effects of the tests..." he looked down as he heard the whispers in his mind calling their dark thought and he shook his head slightly. They sounded like a radio static but with low hissing words within. He looked at her and he faked a smile "Before we eat may I say Grace?" he said offering his cybernetic hand to her.

Carrie's dark eyes remained fixed upon Josh as he spoke, her expression soft as she listened. She could feel her heart lurch as he told her a bit more about how he'd lost his family, was kidnapped, rebuilt and tested as if he was someone not worth anything. He was a person, someone with feelings, a life, a family... But he'd been treated as if none of that had mattered. How cruel life could be. And to think her own life prior to leaving had been full of luxuries, everything she'd needed provided for without a second thought. Even after the crash, her own brother had tried to continue that guise... for her sake.

God, she'd been lucky. So lucky. So very fortunate to have known the people she'd had. Only now, she was alone. Alone and lost and so unsure of life and what it had in store for her. Carrie was frightened in this new life, not knowing whether she'd live to see another day or not. But at least she'd been fortunate enough to meet Josh. Someone kind enough to help her when she'd been in need. She wouldn't take his kindness for granted.

Carrie could feel her eyes dampen slightly, but she blinked back the tears. She was glad that Josh had found her and she wished that Josh hadn't gone through all the things he had. For some reason, she got the sense that there was more to him than what he was telling her, that it went a bit deeper. He was kind, courteous, giving... Smiling, she reached out and placed her hand in his. It was clear that she didn't mind the cybernetics, that she hardly even noticed them.

"Of course," Carrie said, her hand giving his a squeeze even though she wasn't certain if he could sense the tiny gesture. She then gave him a warm smile as she waited for him to speak, her mind racing, her heart pumping hard. So many things were coursing through her in that moment and she was trying to make sense of it all.

Josh closed his eyes and he started his prayer "Our Father who art in Heaven hallowed be thy name, May you bless this food and water to give us strength in these trying times, and may your wisdom and fore thought guide us, and thank you Lord for bringing Carrie safely here to my humble home, In your name we pray amen." He said and opened his organic eye and the shutter opened on his cybernetic one. "Now then mydear eat up" He said as he motioned to their roast. He sipped from his cup again and cleared his throat and he took a knife and carved the roast into slices so they can take as they pleased from it.

As Josh said 'grace' Carrie smiled. She was touched that he included her in the prayer and she immediately felt her cheeks grow warm at the sentiment. She was indeed grateful and it was nice that he seemed to be glad to have her there. She never felt like her presence was ever 'wanted' before, so it was a new feeling to say the least. It made her tummy flutter a bit, though in a pleasant way, and it was definitely a feeling she could get used to.

"Thank you," Carrie said once more, her voice holding a tone of shyness. She gave Josh a smile and then reached to place some food on her plate once he'd finished slicing the roast. She took a bite and chewed it thoroughly. "Very delicious," she said after swallowing everything down. She had to admit, it did taste good. Rat or not, he'd dressed it up with the right sorts of spices and had made it rather enjoyable. She then took a sip of her drink. "This is wonderful. I couldn't ask for more. I haven't eaten this well in a long time."

Carrie could feel that her cheeks were still rather hot as she spoke and ate, her dark eyes fixed on her plate. She smiled the entire time, her body turned toward Josh as they shared their meal together. It was nice to have met someone like him and it was nice to feel safe. Even in hell, there was some semblance of peace. Though it made her wonder about 'tomorrow' and what it would bring along with it. Tomorrow she could very well be alone again, having to face the nightmares, the reminders. The idea of that scared her a little, but she didn't want to overextend her welcome or take advantage. That just wasn't the sort of person she was. Though, the idea of staying a bit longer appealed greatly. She couldn't deny that. So many things, so many emotions were roiling within. And as she looked over at Josh, it was so hard to make sense of everything she was feeling.

Josh took a bite of the roast after he had placed some on his plate. He looked at the girl before him. She was indeed very pretty but compared to a Frankstein monster like him anyone could be pretty. He ate another mouthful and he looked to her and as he chewed and swallowed he sipped from his cup "You can stay here as like as you like Carrie... I dont mind the company..." He smiled and he ate some more "Eat up... " he motioned to her plate he smiled simply. He was happy to have her here. He ate happyily to have his new friend here with him. He didn't have many due to people racism against cyborgs but he also knew she would suffer for living with a Cyborg but then again he also knew that most of the people in the city would try to take advantage of her. He looked to her "I hope my prayer didn't unsettle you..." not knowign what her veiws were but knowing that most people now in days put more faith in science or didn't have any at all.

Carrie's face lit up when Josh told her that she could stay as long as she wanted. It was as if all her fears were suddenly laid to rest in that moment and she couldn't feel any more at ease. She let out a tiny breath that she hadn't even realized she'd been holding and nodded her gratitude as well as acceptance. The idea of staying somewhere safe definitely made her feel better and she was glad that he was extending the gesture out of his own volition rather than her having to ask. It just made her feel that much better about everything, that much easier.

"Thank you so much," Carrie then said as she reached to push some of her dark hair behind her shoulder. Her face showed so much emotion as she looked at Josh. There truly weren't words to describe how she was feeling. "And no, it didn't unsettle me," she then added, her cheeks turning a darker shade of pink. A soft giggle rolled over her lips and she stabbed at a piece of roast and ate it before speaking once again. "Quite the opposite actually." She smiled and then looked over into his eyes. She hadn't been one of faith, but faith had never bothered her. And now with things being as they were, she had to admit there was a comfort to be found in such things.

Carrie smiled and bit down on her lip as she reached for her cup and took a sip. She was having a lovely evening. To think it had started off so horribly... now, she'd never have guessed it had been as such. Now, she was having a wonderful time and could almost forget the horrors of reality lurking outside. It was nice... she just hoped that her host was also having a pleasant evening.
