Sniper grimaced.
"I'm sorry to hear that. That must have been very hard. And to juggle your powers on top of that...you've been through a lot."
He rolled on his back and looked at the ceiling.
"The only hardship I've ever had, I made myself."
"I had a happy childhood. My parents wanted me to make something of myself, and so did I...until I hit high school. I fell in with a rough crowd and started going downhill fast. I got into fights, committed theft and vandalism, and discovered my powers. When I learned of them, I was thrilled. I became a different person."
"I reinvented myself into a tough guy delinquent. I dropped out of school and developed a penchant for motorcycles. I drank, did drugs, and tested my powers on my enemies. I guess it was only a matter of time before my lifestyle caught up with me."
He sighed.
"It did the moment Magneto stepped into my "uncle"'s bar, and the rest...is history."
He turned his head to her.
"And now...it's time for me to reinvent myself again. It's time to stop being a delinquent, and start being a mentor. Time to do for others what was never successfully done for me. Freedom Force is the key to all of that."
He took Holly's hand.
