A few months had gone by since everything had happened - and the two huntresses had arrived. Alric and Talia had officially announced their marriage to the kingdom - and it had been insisted that a ball be held as a celebration. During the past few months Raphaelle had gotten more intimate with Carlos while Rose and Sebastian had developed a relationship as well. Everything had seemed calm as could be, although everything seemed to change the night of the ball. Everybody was having a great time celebrating the celebration of their queen getting engaged. There was dancing, food, and just lively conversation amongst everything. There was nothing that could ruin the night... or so they thought.
Everything took a turn for the worse when midnight struck as everybody was gathering outside to light off some fireworks. This is when the hunters decided that they were going to strike, and Raphaelle was quick to start giving orders - there being the assumption that they were there for the vampires, in particular the royals. How wrong she was... how wrong Rose was. No it appeared that their targets were that of the two huntresses that were there. Traitors that had turned against the hunters - yet it hadn't been unforeseen with the path that the hunters had gone down.
Raphaelle was on the move to get to Carlos while she was sure that Rose was on the move to get to Sebastian, the queen was already being escorted away to safety. Yet Raphaelle wasn't able to get to Carlos when she was struck - and it was Carlos that would see her being struck. A sword straight through her back, all the way through - dangerously close to nicking vital organs. The female hadn't even gotten a chance to react at all, a cry barely escaping her lips as the sword was ripped out and already everything seemed to starting to go black as she collapsed to the ground. The wound was heavily bleeding already and it was pretty obvious that she was in a dangerous situation at that point - a few of the vampires closest to her seeming to react to try and slow the bleeding.
Rose would find the same exact thing happening to her - although it appeared that somebody had known her secret that she was a dhampir, the blade that was piercing her being silvered. The moment she was going down some of the closest vampires were on the move to try and stop the bleeding as much as they could.
Sebastian could only watch in horror as Rose was struck and he was bolting forward, a few of the guards following after him so get the hunters away from where Rose had fallen. He could see that something had gotten Carlos to react as well, and his eyes were flickering around attempting to find his sister. They eventually fell on her and he saw that she was safely with Alric and a few of the other royal guards, who seemed to be covering her. Yet none of the hunters seemed to make a move towards the royals at all - no now that both Rose and Raphaelle were downed they seemed to be leaving.
